When I crop an image, the image itself will be cropped, but the canvas remains still in the original size (see picture, blue frame of marking). When I now copy this cropped image to another Affinity Photo image or file it appears again in the original size - not in the cropped size. For me this looks like that cropping in Affinity Photo does not make a "physical" crop. How can I make a "real" physical crop? Should I always trim the image after cropping? I yes - what is the right way to trim? Can somebody tell me the best practice to crop an image physically? Thank you very much!

I am new to Affinity Designer and have a question about something I am trying to achieve in the program. I am uploading a screenshot of what I'm trying to do and have a question about - which is trim the uneven edges of an object or outlined font glyph using another shape - a circle - so that the glyphs perimeter will be refined and no longer imperfect. Please view the screenshot for more detailed information. Thank You.

I did not understand how the margin for the trimmer works in the designer. Is not the margin visible why how do I know that is there?
