  1. Hi, After getting frustrated with 10-years old version of Photoshop I still own, and missing some features from Pixelmator, I decided to give Affinity a spin. Unfortunately, I couldn't find a trial on your website, only a purchase link to the Mac App Store. I didn't like the idea of spending 50€ on software I have never seen, but I decided to take the plunge. The software is very impressive, but after few hours I got slightly frustrated with minor details. I honestly don't blame you guys for it, as they're mostly related to my own habits from Photoshop, Pixelmator and Sketch. I mean things like cutting selections, editing existing text layer (it's turned into curves, after committing with Cmd+Enter?), lack of direct transforms on selection – all possible with Affinity, but working slightly differently than in other apps. Seriously, it's not you, it's me – I'm just too used to shortcuts from other apps, so I decided it's best if I return it, and keep using programs I'm familiar with, for productivity sake. Unfortunately, I bought the software from the Mac App Store and Apple sent me a message just after the purchase: In other words, I can't return it. I'm now left with a piece of software I won't use, and 50 euros less in my bank account... Only AFTER all of this I came up with the idea of googling up a trial version... and guess what, I found this! https://affinity.serif.com/en-us/signup/trial/photo/ PLEASE, link to the above page on Affinity website. It will save others from frustration and wasted money. I'm a software developer myself, and I can live with giving 50 bucks to an indie company, especially if they made a good product. But given that the only way to purchase your software on Mac is via Apple's awful store (and, at least in my case, no way to get a refund), offering a trial version in a clear way would be GREATLY appreciated. Hello guys, a friend of mine is trying photo right now and has some performance issues on his macOS Sierra (macbook pro, 8GB RAM, 2,6GHZ i5) it jiggles while zooming in/out and slide through a picture I tried to help him and we saw that his trial is only 1.4.3. Is this right??? I think this is a bit odd. Should be a trial does not reflect a current version to test?
  3. I was wondering if a 30-day (?) testversion is planned for AP? I personally have purchased the AP for windows, but friends I recommended AP to want to try it out before bying (what is understandable) - and beta versions require a product key as well. Cheers, Timo
  4. Itried Affinity photo a long time ago. At this time, Affinity Photo was not abble to substitute Photoshop for my use. Since then, impossible to test any new version. I always get a "Trial period expired". Inthat forum (https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/30384-tried-affinity-photo-but-crashed-each-time/?hl=trial) people at Affinity was telling " Affinity Photo 1.5 should be out soon and there will be a new trial available in case you want to give it another try." Great news ... but no way. I downloaded Trial and i continue with the same "Trial period expired" .... Having a closer look i saw that Trial is 1.4.3 version and not 1.5 ... could you fix this ?
  5. i'm trying to get the free months trial, I've registered and the download email is not coming through, checked email this is correct. I've tried another pc with a different email address this is not coming through either? they are not in junk folder.
  6. Hey affinity community! Have been shopping for a few months for a software just like affinity, and am quite impressed with how user friendly this software is. I started a free trial and make a flyer. It's only been a few days into my trial, and whenever I go to open that file now I get a window pop up telling me my trial is expired, I was under the impression the trial should last 10 days. How do I go about retrieving that file? Getting it back would save me hours of work. The file is both on my desktop but also saved in a separate folder. I'd consider buying affinity right now if it meant I could get my file back, but my main concern right now is the file I made with the trial version. Internet, help! :( Any advice would be much appreciated -Fwen
  7. I loaded Affinity software trial versions. My plan was to sift away from Adobe products. Adobe has function, that trial time is counted only those days when applications are used. So i thought that you manage your trial policy same way. It is good policy. I was wrong and as a result my trial time ended before i had a time even test your software :-D

  9. Hi, I have attempted several times to open the 10-day trial for Affinity Photo, but I keep getting a popup that says the trial has expired. I was a beta tester for Affinity Photo a year or so ago (or whenever the first betas were released), but I haven't actually used the official release and wanted to try it out before I purchased it. Do you have any suggestions/things I can troubleshoot? Not sure if there is a file from the beta still on the computer that is keeping the trial from working. Thanks! Quinn

I recently started working on a newly created startup company, and since the budget is kinda limited atm, the iMac I'm using right now ( as a graphic designer ) is borrowed from another company. Anyway, we're currently paying for an adobe subscription but Affinity is way cheaper - the question is, is it as good ? So I downloaded the trial and after installing, it said that the Trial period was expired. I can only assume someone who was using this mac before had already tried affinity. How can I get a trial reset, or something like it ?
  11. Hello, I was working on a file for a client in the Trial Version of Affinity Designer. I saved the document and closed Affinity. When I reopened, I was alerted that my trial had ended, so I purchased the full version. However, I am unable to open the document I was working on in the Trial version. Is there a way to open up files in the full version that were created in the trial version??? PLEASE HELP! I need to edit this graphic for a client ASAP.

  13. Hello all, I am new to Affinity and downloaded the trial and watched an intro video. The program does not work properly for me: Cannot select any tools by clicking Holding the M key and clicking a shape selects that one, doing the same and selecting another gives a random shape Pressing T will enable the text ansd on clicking the text box tool I can write text but then nothing else, it won't deselect so any keyboard short cuts just type in the box No other tool seems to work. I followed a link to a beta, as advised to an OP in another thread having similar trouble and who was using the trial French version; but this won't run as it wants a paid for installation - so no good there. I have a Mac Pro (Mid 2010), 2.8 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon, 16gb RAM, ATI Radeon HD 5770 1024 MB running El Capitan v10.11.3. In the words of the Dilbert disaster recovery plan "Help! Help! Help!" - please and thank you.
  14. I just downloaded the free trial from the affinity site to check out the software. When I try to open it, it tells me the trial is expired. Help.

  16. Hello, This is my first post, so hello to all! Am using APhoto and love it so decided to look at Designer. Downloaded the trial today and when launched was greeted with "This trial has expired." I never even got to try it. At some point it looks like I downloaded a beta of Designer but couldn't use it because it's for Designer owners only. Not sure when I downloaded and tried to run it, but it has been a few months for sure. Any way, I deleted the beta out of Applications, but certainly that's not going to delete the super-secret time limit file off my machine. Any way I can fix this? I want to try a couple of files before I commit. Pretty sure I'm just going to buy it anyway but I want to try, ya know? Thanks and keep up the good work! Greg
  17. I was using AD Trial, then bought AD Full but still had work open in the Trial, which then promptly crashed on me a day after the trial expired, taking a bunch of unnamed documents with it. Running the Trial just tells me that it’s expired, then opens the App Store. Running the Full version does not give me an option to recover the crashed (autosaved) documents. Which files do I need to move from where to where to make AD Full see them on startup and offer recovery?

I making my first book in my life, it is about Origami tutorial, I want to use Affinity Photo and Designer to make my book. Where can I still download the beta app?   20. I can't find an email to ask the support team directly, so I'm resorting to posting this here. Basically, long story short, I downloaded the free trial some time ago, when I was first getting into trying to create digital art. Well, now I've gotten myself a graphics tablet, and would like to try it again, with the graphics tablet. My free trial is obviously over, but I never really got to play around with it in the first place. If any of you can direct me to an email address so I can contact the team directly, that would also be much appreciated. Thanks, Nick
