  1. As stated here, there should be a way to handpick a certain artboard that is used as a thumbnail for the template section (and file system) I work with artboards... a lot. And the previews in the File=>New dialogue are really small.. -thx, Dave
  2. no matter what i do i get no pdf or eps preview thumbnail from designer or photo when exported from either software. This works fine for me form illustrator and photoshop. I have no issues with seeing a thumbnail in the browser if saved or exported from illustrator or photoshop to eps or pdf. Ideas or thoughts.
  3. Currently, it is difficult to track which Masterpage are assigned to the current page or to another Masterpage. I propose to have short 2 - 4 character code names associated to a Masterpage. This short name should be independent from the larger page name. So I can have a Masterpage "Chapter Page" and a coded name "Cp" or "Cp-01". In turn, this short name could be displayed on the thumbnail of pages to which it is assigned. That would make it much easier to manage larger projects.
  4. Files saved from Photo (.afphoto) are not showing thumbnails in Finder, just the default icon. I have that option turned on in preferences. Any ideas how to workaround while Affinity fixes it?
  5. Please vote here if you too want it. https://feedback.photoshop.com/conversations/bridge/bridge-request-to-recognise-afphoto-files-to-display-thumbnails-and-full-full-screen-previews/5f5f462c4b561a3d4277d759 FYI Adobe Bridge is free. anyone can use it with CC account without subscribing a premium plan. https://community.adobe.com/t5/bridge/is-adobe-bridge-still-free-to-download/m-p/9354916
  6. Hello, I'm having difficulty seeing what is on the artboards while working with vector lines. The thumbnail would be useful if the background of the thumbnail were, in this case, white to match the artboard rather than a gray that is not adjustable. Otherwise please consider adding another slider under Preferences > User Interface. 🙏🏻 A failed alternative: resizing the thumbnails hasn't met my needs, and then its required scrolling up and down further because a larger thumb means a larger list, further supporting another feature request to expand/collapse entire groups/layers in the panel. Thank you, Walt
  7. Hello, my goal is to make a youtube thumbnail where my object (video console) has an outline. I removed the background from the picture, smoothed the edge and then I added a red outline at the effect panel. The outline is not smooth. Instead it looks distorted - it has many pumps / waves to the edge. There is no option to smooth the outline. How can I achieve a clean outline in Designer or Photo?
  8. Hi there, is there a way to increase the thumbnail size in the .afphoto file so one can judge his documents with the macOS preview (hitting the space bar)? Natively it seems to be in a size of something around 342x512. PSD documents in comparison seem to include larger thumbnails you can "zoom" in. Sincerely, me
  9. I tried the mask layer linking that @carl123 demonstrated. The linking of masks worked fine for me. I then tried editing the linked-from-mask, and the linked-to-mask, both masks reflected edits of either. But while the actual layers updated, the thumbnails were updated going one way but not the other. See circle on unsharp-mask mask but not on levels mask. (macOS 11.2)
  10. Hello. The version of affinity photo 1.9 is fantastic but I found some problems that one of them is important to me. In the adjustments tab in the LUT category it does not show me thumbnails while in all other categories it shows the thumbnails, shows only titles with the name and not thumbnails and I did not find a way to fix it to display the thumbnails. I have also made my own LUT to test whether it displays the ones installed by the users but it still does not display my own LUT thumbnails. The other problem is not so important. When I export and select the type of file I want to export ''PNG, JPG, etc'' when it reaches the window where I have to name the file in place of ''PNG, JPG, etc extensions'' it says ''affinity photo'' but saves normally the image in the extension I selected, the problem is only in the save window and not in the file. I do not know if I described it correctly so that you can understand what I mean. I will upload two photos to help you understand better. The image with the problem with the thumbnail preview: The picture with the export problem as ''PNG, JPG, etc extensions''
  11. I wonder if I just screwed up a setting without realising - or if there's been a change in the beta in comparison to the release: The background (canvas) of the layer thumbnails now shows up as a transparent checkerboard - instead of a solid surface as in the main window. Very irritating. Is there a way to turn this of again? Cheers, Timo
  12. Hi, Just curious why I am not seeing any thumbnails in the templates when I have the folder set to the free "Iconic Templates". They were visible previously on my last rig however now in both Publisher and Designer they are not visible. I am on the latest version of both 1.8.3.641 on Windows 10. See below. It isn't a big deal just driving me a little ocd not having them show. They all work and can be seen as thumbnails in explorer. Thanks, Rob
  13. When browsing project files in Finder (macOS) I noticed that the same project as a .psd will preview a high-res thumbnail of the artboard but if the project is saved as .afdesign there is a low-res thumbnail. I was curious if anyone else noticed or has this behavior. If possible, I think it'd be great if Affinity would save higher-res thumbnails of the project file to make browsing in Finder a little more useful. I included screenshots to show the difference.
  14. I'd love to share these original Affinity Designer files to get these images in the Samples that load up every time I boot up Affinity Designer. I really think that my artwork could help people see the commercial value that Affinity Designer has.
  15. I am trying to use as less files as possible for comic projects using the same pages (digital/print editions, reprints, trade paperbacks, revised editions, etc.), and I think one of the ways to do this would be to have the option of grouping Page thumbnails into folders, and having a check box beside each page and folder. This way, we could just check the pages to export in a project before exporting it to PDF for example. Would it be possible to have such an option in Affinity Publisher?
  16. Hey guys, I get this bug from time to time, can't really be sure what it's related too, and I can't really reproduce it on purpose. Basically, at some point, all (sometimes not all) the thumbnails that should appear in the LAYERS panel are gone, like the layers/groups are empty. I added 2 screenshots. Thanks
  17. Hi, Infinity Photo lacks an option to change the size of the Layer Thumbnail images. This has always been an odd omission, the point of the thumbnails is being able to see at a glance what layer you are working on and what it contains. When I worked on a 1920x1080 resolution monitor it was manageable to a degree - but still frustrating, but now I have a more professional sized resolution monitor at 2560x1440, the thumbnails are so tiny, they may as well not be there. Can we please have an option to enlarge the thumbnails like Photoshop/Gimp etc has. Thanks, Jay.
  18. Please Serefteam, create in AP the Option to Change the layer thumbnailsize larger. Regards Armin
  19. Hi, I've just upgraded to a larger resolution monitor (2560x1440), which is great, but one issue with Affinity Photo is that there is no obvious way to enlarge the Layer thumbnail size like you would in Photoshop, or other image editing software. On a high resolution monitor the thumbnails are so small, they are pretty pointless. You just can't see what you're working on. Am I missing something, or is has it not been implemented yet? The screenshot I've included is scaled down for a 1080 Full HD display so you can see the problem if you have a smaller monitor resolution. Thanks, Jay.
  20. As we see more and more user switch to Affinity products, we would like to be able to create Thumbnails and Previews using an automated server process. For most image formats our system uses ImageMagick. Is there any solution? Not necessarily ImageMagick.
  21. wish file/thumbnail commands for efficiency... Duplicate Save to [iOS] Photos Export
  22. As my laptop won't display RAW files, I run every new set of photos through a batch job to create jpeg thumbnails at 600 pixels wide. Because there's no tweaking done in development, I sometimes get some sad-looking results; fortunately, the RAW file will usually turn out OK with a bit of fiddling about. (Sorry -- that's a disrespectful way to describe the amazing capabilities of Affinity Photo! I mean, with some carefully considered image manipulation :)) So here's a very under-exposed photo of a toucan, shot against a very bright sky. If I'd still been shooting in jpg, I'd have been very disappointed: there's very little room for improvement. Now here's the fidd manipulated version. I resized it to 800 px to post on Facebook; I'll do it full size for my portfolio ... but not today.
  23. Hi Guys, When I save an afphoto in Beta 71, the image is not being saved on the thumbnail. I do have the option turned on in Prefs. It works with Export>>>jpeg, etc., and saving an afphoto with thumbnail also works in 1.5.2. (Save as...)
  24. In the Affinity Designer, the Media browser is a great tool but not so great. There should be 3 more features. 1. Add custom folders by clicking any [+] sign, instead of only dragging folders into it. 2. The folders in thumbnail section are not clickable. only tree expanding is possible to access content inside of folder. Please make folders click able and add [back] and [up] buttons too. (I'm sure you understand what i mean) 3. Also add a small option of sort by [name],,[date],[type] etc. 4. Please add keyboard arrows use too.. to browse in tree menu / thumbnail. There is a bug too.. I will also post this into BUGS section. If we right click on Folders' thumbnail. we see two options. "open" and "view in finder". That Open only blanks the thumbnail view B)
  25. Hi, I am looking for a way to have .psd files show thumbnails in Windows Explorer, just like .bmp, .png files etc. do by default (in the Extra large / large / medium icons views) . Is this possible from within Photo, or through a plugin (even a Photoshop one) or through any other app, may be? Thanks.
