  1. Hey everyone, in Affinity Designer 2 I created texture lines with a graphic tablet. I just need the dynamic pencils. Now I want to export it as an svg, but it appears as a pixel svg data. What is the workaround in Affinity to get vector svg's with the style of the brushes? I was already changing the lines into a picture and searching for an automate image trace tool in Affinity. For me as Adobe user, it doesn't make sense using a brush in a vector program and it just turn out as a pixel graphic. Maybe some of you can help me. Thanks
  2. There are several different brush types in Affinity, and unlike I am missing something obvious, it appears to me that the raster brushes used in Affinity Photo can only be used with brush tools. It would be fantastic to be able to apply these non-destructively to vector paths. Essentially like a non-destructive version of Photoshops "Stroke Path" feature. This is something that for instance Macromedia Fireworks and Discreet Combustion were always able to do, but for some reason it was never added to Photoshop. Possibly, the applications could also support adding multiple brushes (or strokes in vector terms) to the same path, opening up even more possibilities. In addition to the obvious benefits, having raster brushes on vector paths would also allow the brush engine to be used more like a particle system, another long-standing omission in Photoshop's feature set that would be great to see in Affinity. NOTE: There is a "Texture Line Style" setting in Affinity Photo's path stroke options, but this doesn't seem to work with the raster brushes, counter-intuitively not even with those in the "Textured" category in Photo's brushes panel. I assume that this requires Designer brushes (as these work when applied in Designer in the same place), but those are not available inside Photo as far as I can tell. As such, I find this a bit confusing, and it seems that I'm not alone. Some kind of note in the Stroke popup under the "Texture Line Style" that lets the user know that they need to use Designer to apply Texture stroke brushes would be useful.
  3. For any stroke that has had a brush style applied to it, if I try to revert it to a solid or dashed line style using the Style buttons in the Stroke Studio panel or Context toolbar, the pressure profile for the solid style or the dash parameters for the dash style have no effect. For example, for the solid line style, I can change the pressure profile curve & that curve is shown in the small Pressure: window but the object's stroke does not accept that profile. Likewise, setting dash parameters does nothing at all. For both, the stroke remains a solid one of uniform width. For the default texture brush styles & some others like the DAUB Vector Set Vol 2, clicking the solid or dash style buttons does not even change the stroke style at all -- the stroke continues to use the brush style even though the solid or dash style button is shown as selected. So is this because I am not using the correct procedure to revert the stroke style, a bug in the app, or something that resetting brush styles or clearing something on app startup should fix? I would prefer not to do any resetting or clearing if I can avoid it.
  4. Please play the video, the problem is that the texture line style does not work in affinity photo. video.mov
  5. In the Decorations section of the Paragraph Panel I can set a Texture Line Style (the brush icon) but I can’t figure out what this does or how to change the “texture”. Switching between Solid Line Style and Texture Line Style seems to make no difference apart from the line style in the underlying panel button changing a bit. Can anyone tell me what this is for and how I should be using it please?
