I’m pleased to see how quickly the text has been improved / fixed with version 1.5.0.4. Text in the first version was practically unusable for me, but now seems fast and stable, so far. I really like the options for leading. I haven’t worked out how to get proper curly apostrophes and quotes (i.e. ‘’“” vs '"). They appear as straight / dumb quotes when I type them. I’ve installed a keyboard layout that allows me to get them in most apps, even in this post, but it doesn’t work in AD. So far the only way I’ve found of getting them into my text is to copy and paste from another app. Is this something I’m missing, a bug, or a feature coming in a future update? Thanks for the super program, quick updates, and great communication through the forum. It’s great to know we’re being heard and things are happening, fast! Well done. Buying into a software suite is about more than the programs themselves − it’s also about the company culture and interaction with users, and support. Affinity has impressed me on all counts. I’m excited about the future. -
Hi Guys, so i am trying to create a macro to watermark my work. However when I want create the text, there is an error message "Macro recorder: Can not record: Graphiktext hinzufügen [adding graphic text]" (For now using affinity in German). Please, please help me, what am I doing wrong? -
why couldn't i align my text space vertically，it worked with shapes…… did i use the wrong tool？ thanks for help！

Is there a way to resize text created with Text Frame Tool using the transform option? I know there is a way to manually resize the text using that outer lever...but I want the text to be specifically a certain size...and when I normally transform, it simply reflows the text. -
How do you resize text so it maintains its text location within a text box? It seems that when I resize the text some text jump from its original placement to an extra line and mess up the original layout. Using the transform tool, I am trying to proportionally resize page content...this contains text. It seems that the text size does not change, and messes up the layout. Is there a way to change this?

Newbie question, Is it possible to change the color of transparent background from the checkered grey to another color? When working with white fonts its difficult to see. Oh and another thing, how to select all the text on a background to change its color? -
So I have been using Affinity Designer for bout a month now and completely pleased with it. However there are a few things I have questions about. First is the font options. Is there was to add more fonts to designer? Also when I create a design and it has numbers and I print them off a lot of times the numbers print out with vertical and horizontal lines around them. How do I go about getting rid of that? Finally, I was wondering how i can cut and crop things outside of just squares? Love the program outside of these things I got questions about. In Affinity Designer, Adding a text object to a newly created document creates the text render on the left side. Add a background (white or off-white, doesn't matter), and you get the text render on the right side. Not sure if this is a bug or if it can be changed with a setting. text-bug.afdesign

Hello i'm new to the forum and i want to know if i can add text to a 360 photo i still don't have the affinity photo App but I want to buy it; i'm gonna mostly use it for 360 photos and adding text to them, i saw how to add a logo, but i don't know if it is the same thing with the text, and if it's gonna look with the 360 shape or just flat? Thanks! -
Combining text with images is always a challenge. Most of the examples and work I see uses a destructive method and if sometimes it's not a big deal, others we need to do it all over again. Is this tutorial I show you how you can combine both in a non-destructive way. Hi guys, I'm using Affinity Photo for Windows and can't seem to find how to adjust the direction of a gradient stroke added to text, all I'm presented with is the attached? The Fill isn't a problem as that's controlled by clicking the Gradient icon. Thanks in advance Neil

How do I view and use OTF swashes? I failed to see any swashes using the typography menu selection. Please help. -
Haven't posted here for a long while, but enjoyed doing some nesting this morning with a picture I took a while back of Paris Mountain in Anglesey. I used Designer for the page including fading out the background photo. Quick and easy.

I am currently attempting to move from Adobe programs to Affinity Designer and Photo, since they are more affordable and in most cases do the job easier and/or faster. I have noticed that I cannot write any RTL (right-to-left language) text. As I am working in the Middle East, this is essential for my job and unfortunately means I still have to make use of Adobe software until this is supported. -

I have a wondering about the boxes surrounding artistic text. In my example in the attached picture the text position related to the box surrounding it isn't the same for the different words. Why is that? And is it anything you can change? When to position text with the x-cordinates this becomes little of a dilemma. Naturally when you want to align text it's the text itself that you want to align but in this case it's the boxes that correspond to the x-cordinates. So my question is: Is this how it's suppose to be and i've missed something? And in either way, can i do something about it?

When adding or editing text to existing text frame. When I click in the text frame. In layers menu highlighted text frame jumps to the under lying layer pixel layer. I click the text icon cursor select text frame cursor changes to T in a square, I click in the text frame that already contains text. and text layer is deselected, the pixel is under is now selected. I often copy text from my inbox and want to paste it into pre-formated text field in AD but when I do the field takes the copied text formatting. ATM I have to copy from email to code editor and from there to AD to get plain text. Is there any way to copy plain text into AD? -
First, I'm used to Photoshop & am pretty new to Affinity. I've had it for just a few days now. I'm trying to get text to curve and I'm really having trouble. It seems each tutorial I've watched says to create a shape then click the Text tool & simply hover by the outside of the shape for the squiggly line to show up long side the "A" where the curser is. The problem is that I cannot get that to happen. Just normal, straight text. I cannot get the text on a path. Somebody please help me before I lose my mind. -
I wrote a macros to prepare my pictures to the web. Macros makes them of certain size and sharp, but It can't add a signature to the photo, because AP „Cannot add Artistic Text“ to the macros. Thus I suggest to allow to add Artistic text to the Macro.

Feature currently available in Photoshop & Illustrator. Very Useful when you design something with a bounding/text box and decide later you would prefer using Point text & vice versa.
