[English] I use Affinity publisher. I arrange frame text tool and type Japanese characters (Uploaded Images green box). But the small window (Uploaded Images blue box) appears, and I can't directly type Japanese characters to frame text. Could you tell me how to solve it? [日本語] affinity publisherを使用しております。テキストボックスを配置し（画像の緑の四角）、テキスト入力を行ったところ、 左上に日本語入力用の小窓が表示され（画像の青の四角）、テキストが直接入力できません。 解決方法を教えていただけないでしょうか。

Project made previously on Windows (Affinity Publisher), on Mac is not displaying text and other elements that are inherited from Master Pages. Text and graphics are selectable but not visible. Problem occurs after reopening file in Publisher >> During first edit everything works flawlessly; when you close project and reopen it - you have to be prepared to face this issue. ** It is probably occurs when you change layout (facing pages >> single pages and vice versa).

Not sure if this is an issue or a limitation of Publisher. When I use the text tool I cannot zoom in or out. For example — If I am typing in a text box and I want to make a font bigger or smaller I cannot just zoom out, the zoom only works once I click the pointer tool, click off the text box and then zoom out. It's a very simple process but the idea that I have to change the tool, click off the text box, zoom out... and then re-select the text tool and then re-select the text box is a pain in the backside. Surely there is something I'm doing wrong...?? or is that just a limitation of the program and it's un-able to do that? Any help would be much appreciated.

I could not select text anymore, tried closing program/reopening but it still didn´t work. Noticed that it suddenly worked when i had the document zoomed out to 50%. To test the issue, select a text, zoom in/out and notice that the selection disappears going above 85%, every time. Version 1.8.3 on a 2017 15" mac pro running Mojave 10.14.6

Can I link text frames on Affinit Designer? -
Iam waiting from one year that affinity will add regional text engine support for their apps...But i was dissapointed in every update that they doesn't include it. Affinity if you are listening and if you value your customers suggestion please add support for regional text engine support.

Is it possible to relink text edited in a symbol? Even just changing color make them out of sync. -
Hello Just in the middle of creating an autobiography in Publisher and it is going well but have two problems. Text alignment: I have a Chapter heading which is 'left aligned' and beow that is some txt which is 'centered' the following paragraphs are 'full width' aligned. Everything has been working well except for one Chapter where I can't seem to separate the 'centre aligned' text from the following paragraph. If I centre the subheading the following paragraph adopts the same style. See attached screen shot. I am sure I am doing something wrong as all the other chapters have worked out fine. Also, I have one rogue page number which is displaying on the left side of a right hand page (see screen shot). All the other page numbers throughout the document as fine. I can't delete it or select it to change the alignment. Apart from these small problems I am very impressed with Publisher Any thoughts on thes points will be appreciated. Cheers Charles

Hello! I’d love to make the report more precise but actually all I’m sure of is included in the title ☹️. I use Designer on iPadOS 13.4 (currently on beta, but the problem had been there before it’s release), app version 1.7.3. App crashes during writing, when deselecting text tool (both art and frame), when changing text attributes, whenever during using text actually. I tried really hard to find the specific path leading to crash but I couldn’t. Tried reinstalling app. The crash is so often for me that I was sure somebody have already reported it but as I see I am alone, so my only idea is that the bug is connected with my language settings - my device language is Polish which Designer doesn’t support (and I have another problem with that, which I reported before, unfortunately still unfixed: Link) Thanks in advance!

Having the ability to export text as text instead of having them convert to bitmap when exporting to PSD would be super cool. This would really make the work flow so much more flexible. I believe we all agree yeah?

Newbie here who is struggling with Publisher. I have to do the text of our newsletter 'justified' - with Pageplus9 at the end of a line I would just do a return and the bottom line of the paragraph would be fine. At the moment the bottom line of my work in a paragraph is spreading three words all along the line. I have been into the Paragraph Tools to try and change but just can't find how. I am attaching the text for you to see the problem. It is the bottom line in para one. Been asked to contact Support - how? -
Affinity Designer 1.8 cannot recognize or render 99% of Windows 10 basic system fonts correctly. Some of the installed fonts are also not in the drop down option/ cannot be found in the character panel. Even the previews in the drop down renders wrong. Is there any way to fix this?

Hey folks! Here's the case: I am currently working on a logo in Affinity Designer. It is the second iteration and I would like to present him the first vectorized draft of the logo in an appealing layout and with written documentation. I have created the layout in Affinity Publisher and linked the Affinity Designer file in it, so that any changes to the logo are directly reflected in the Publisher document. Thereby I encounter the following problem/s: The Designer file contains text that uses a licensed font that should remain editable until the final version of the logo – but in the Designer file ONLY. If I now export the Publisher document as a PDF for web to keep hyperlinks to references and good readability for example, the text of the linked logo gets exported editable/selectable via Adobe Acrobat – which I don't want at all! If I export the document as flattened and all elements are rasterized, it becomes (even if only slightly) blurred and consequently pixelated – which I don't want either. A possible solution for a feature could be the option to convert any text ONLY in linked/embedded files instead of converting all text to curves during export. I'd be happy to learn if there's another, more convenient way to do this, since it's a bite impractical while the logo's not final. 😀 However, I' m not quite sure if I described the problem in an easy to understand way. 😅 Greetings MrDoodlezz -
For instance, the below text:- (literally:- are you going this year, brother ?) is not rendered properly in both Designer and Photo. The area that I highlighted contains tone mark which is supposed to be a bit higher than the upper-level characters, However, they are placed at the same level, and clash with each other. This suggested that the OpenType GPOS table is not applied.

I KNOW this has a simple solution. But for weeks now (watching YouTube vids looking for an answer)... I can't figure out how to simply 'curve' my text. I need to curve text to follow the circular path of a CD Layout. (to print text on the edge of a CD). All I could find is info on creating 'paths'... but I am horribly inexperienced with that and I'm hoping there is an easier way. I feel dumb asking... but here I am... asking. thanks for any help! -
Hello, I have installed the new version of 1.8 for all of my Affinity product. However, the moment I press enter to go to the next line the text format changes ?? such a weird behavior after installing the update. The file is attached maybe someone can take a look at it. Thanks for the upgrade guys, but i miss one imported thing and that is vector text wrap or perpective posibility. This is a very imported tool for designing.

Evening, So maybe I’m missing something simple with this. I copied and pasted some text of the internet. When doing so the font copied in a white background. Now every time I go to start new Artist Text the white background shows up. How do I remove this?

I love the new idml-import. Now, that I'm using it more and more, I'm also looking into other fields than just boxes and linked pictures. Textstyles: One of my documents has vertically centred text and paragraph lines. I noticed the lines disappearing on the second and third level. Also the centered Text is not centered anymore. I realized there are some settings not converted correctly:

Please support Japanese vertical writing. This is the function most needed by Japanese. This is the only reason why I and my workplace cannot adopt “Affinity”. If this problem is solved, “Affinity” may become the top share in the Japanese market. Can Japanese donate development costs to support vertical writing in Japanese? In Japan, Adobe dominates the market. That is not good. I'm trying Affinity Publisher Beta 1.7.0.227 on a Mac using OS 10.9.5 (Mavericks) and the Import Text from File is not in the Text drop down menu so I can't import text from other documents. I tried using File Place with the cursor in the Text Box but all my documents were "greyed" and clicking on them doesn't work. The Help files from Affinity say to use Import Text from Files in the Text drop down menu so I looked at other drop down menus but the command just doesn't exist. Suggestions? Thanks. Frank -
Whenever I place a Designer document on Publisher and wrap text around an artboard, the wrap outline does not match the size of the artboard, in a totally random way, so I must resize the wrapping manually every time I place a Designer file. If I modified the artboard later on Designer, and do a "Reset Wrap Outline" it reverts to the incorrect wrapping, despite having modified the artboard size, instead of detecting and resetting to the new artboard size. Steps: Do some text layout on Publisher Place a Designer document with artboards Add a text wrapping to the placed artboard (Results on incorrect wrap outline) Edit the incorrect wrap so it matches the artboard size. Tested with different Designer files with multiple artboards (also single artboard documents) and each result in a totally aleatory wrapping size. Each tried document result in a totally different wrapping error, with no noticeable pattern. Publisher 1.7.3 - Designer 1.7.3 - Mac OSX 10.15.2

Hello, I would like to put text on photos of different formats and I would like that when viewing them on TV (Screen saver) that the text is always the same size on the screen. How do I do it? -
Hi, 1st post here, sorry if it's a stupid question. Using latest version of Designer on a 2017 MacBook Pro (on Catalina). Here's the problem: When I add a brush stroke as an outline to text, I can change the brush stroke colour - as you would expect. But, when I set the stroke to be behind the text (99% of the time), the stroke changes to black - not in the colour picker, but on the actual page. If I change it back to be in front of the text, the colour returns. If I change the stroke from a brush to a solid line, it works fine. I also don't have this problem with shapes - only text. Thanks for a great app, hope you can help me with this little niggle. Meredudd
