  1. I'm sure there's a perfectly simple answer to this question, but I'm new to publisher and I don't have a book to refer to. After assembling my document, I decided to put in a semi-transparent image beneath the composition. When I placed the image on the lowest layer, I noticed that all my text was sitting in white, horizontal boxes. Now my document looks like a ransom note. I've looked in every menu and every tool, and I can't remove the white background behind my text. Any thoughts? Image attached. Thanks in advance. P.S. Whats the difference in function between the Place Image tool and the Picture Frame Rectangle tool?
  2. Is there a tutorial anywhere on using Affinity Photo to print the inkjet equivalent of darkroom test prints? That is, using a small sheet of paper to get print variations on a selected area of an image. I want to make some A2 prints on my Epson P800 printer. My tests so far have not been what I wanted, although my monitor is properly profiled and I’m using the correct ICC profile for the paper. So, rather than continue to waste ink and paper, I was hoping to use a key area of my image and print a strip series of variations on e.g. an A4 sheet to decide on my best settings. Thanks!
  3. Hello everyone! Could, anyone outhere, explain to me how can I do my print test with the appropiate ICC used in diferents papers... And also, dou you remember which was the built-in-house CMYKB valor in Affinity Photo? I changed it and I absolutely forgot which one it was... Thanks in advance. Best regards!
  4. Hello, do I understand this in the right manner? All the features and tools of Affinity Photo for the desktop are also available in the iPad variant? So I could see with the test version for the desktop, whether the iPad variant is suitable for me? Greetings from Berlin Gabi
  5. Please don't respond to this thread, this is just a test for when our new forum is up and running. Thanks!

  7. I am a complete newbie to Affinity and this is my first attempt at a project. I am attempting to copy a pattern used by an artist on the Web who is involved heavily with Sacred Geometry. If you are interested you can Google Charles Gilchrist or Sacred Geometry. The pattern was used as the base for one of his Mandala paintings. The pattern called Natures First Pattern is basically circles arranged to form a repeating pattern. This is the result of my first attempts with Affinity and vectors in general. Of course, I had to pick an easy one ! I am convinced that Affinity Designer is made with secret magic potions and mysterious spells. All of this pattern is split into individual pieces and the file is still very small and extremely responsive on the screen. If I were to export this file to PSD it would generate a 13 Meg file ! The document size is 24 x 24 inches at 300 DPI for printing. I will post an update when it is colored. Should take me about 23 years !
