How do you delete a table format? Using table formats in the Table Formats Studio tab, you can end up having loads of formats. So the need to delete obsolete ones arises. How do you delete table formats?

The Symbols panel option seems to be missing in ver. 1.7.0.249. Or is this panel moved from the Studio manager? Testing on Mac running High Sierra. OleR

Hello I have a problem with studio panels. I use three monitors on Windows 10. Every time I arrange the panels on the second monitor and restart Affinity Designer or Photo, they are unordered. Sometimes the panel is missing and sometimes they all move to the third or first monitor. I can't solve this problem. Is there any way that studio panels will always stay in one place? greetings Michael

Not a huge problem but the floating studio pallets are on a layer above the export window. If you have things positioned certain ways the pallets can blog the export window buttons and you cannot click them. You can move the pallet of course but I think the Export window should be at the same level as the Save window.

I open my View drop down then go to the Studio option then open any panel and try to attach it to the Artboard and then the whole program crashes. I'm running MAC OS 10.14.5 (18F132). This hasn't happened until the most recent update. It keeps putting it in a mode where I have to boot the program and hold control to clear caches a lot.

Hey everyone! Please consider including saving and loading the studio layout to and from file (windows, toolbar content, tools position and content) for Designer, Photo and Publisher. This would speed up things when - using the software on multiple Macs - having the layout set back by an update (e.g. 1.7) - going from a beta version to the store version It took me about 45 minutes to setup the UI for Affinity Publisher, including Designer and Photo persona, on two Macs. Also, I think the Designer and Photo personas of Publisher should read the UI layout of Designer and Photo. Best wishes, Shu

Having the resource manager just floating around somewhere is causing it to be in the way all the time. Having to open and close it isn't ideal either. Please make the resource manager panel dockable and embeddable as a tab in the studio area, like studio panels do. So we can arrange them within the studio panels/tabs. (If there are people really like it to be floating around as it is, they can still take it out of the studio area let it float.) I also wonder why it isn't a studio-panel and so be available in the studio menu.

Hi, I have a little problem with the Transform Studios. When I start any of the desktop application with the normal application window and using the transform studio (moving or resizing something) the tab progress process X, Y, W, H: normal.mov I think this is a normal. But if I use the desktop applications with the Separated Mode. In Separated Mode the tab progress process is X, W, Y, H: separated mode.mov This is not natural for me. Why changing this progress? Thanks.

Hello, I have a pretty annoying problem with StudioLink... So I have the three Affinity apps on Windows (no Beta version, I bought all of these), but when I go into Publisher then I click on the Designer Persona button in the top left corner, it displays that: I can't switch into the Designer Persona, just as if it wasn't on my PC... Note: My apps are up-to-date and I've already launched them at least once. They're in the default installation folder which is defined during their setup. Do you have any clue? Thank you!

Hello friends, I'm searching for a basic feature to save different studio arrangements of my tool pallets. For example, I'm often work on a mobile macbook. Back to the office, I connect a larger screen to my macbook. In the past, I've switched to an pre saved workspace in the adobe app. Because, different jobs requires different tools. Is there a similar function within the AFFINITY programs?

In the past couple days, the Studio palettes on the righthand side (Affinity Photo for Desktop on MacOS Mojave) have been randomly resizing: sometimes much wider and sometimes much narrower than the default. As there seems to be no means of manually resizing their width, I'm assuming this is a bug of some sort. Has anyone else encountered this? - Brad, Icecastles Photography

I’ve noticed that I can draw a line (nothing to do with text) then change its properties and the Outline Style in the Character Studio changes. See attached GIF. Also, changes to the Stroke and/or Colour properties of the line change the Outline Style in the Character Studio too. I don’t think these things should be connected as the Line properties for a line/curve should not have any effect on Characters that the object does not have. Or, to put it another way, why is the Character studio showing changes to the Line properties of something that does not contain text? Or, to expand on that a bit, why are the Character/Paragraph/Text Style studios active at all when the layer does not contain text? Have I misunderstood something basic?

I cut and paste some symbols from Affinity Designer into Affinity Publisher, but could not detach them in Affinity Publisher. Does anyone know if the Symbols studio is going to be included with Affinity Publisher?

It would be faster to access the STUDIO list of palettes if STUDIO was on the menu, perhaps between "View" and "Window". No doubt it is a major programming shuffle but accessing STUDIO is done frequently and one click is faster than two. Giving STUDIO a CTRL+? or ALT/CMD+? shortcut would help, too. And/or, make an icon for STUDIO so we can put it on the Toolbar if not on the menu. TKS.

Complicated illustrations that have a lot of shapes on a particular layer can take a bit of time to scroll through. Opening multiple layers can result in even more scrolling which, depending on how much memory/processing power your iPad has available, can slow things down sometimes. I’d like to suggest a button/control for the Layers Studio that would collapse all open layers/groups, giving users a place to start over when searching through the parts of a document. Also, how about a control, possibly for the contextual menu at the bottom of the screen, that would give users the option to “show object in Layers”. It would be a shortcut that would instantly open the Layers Studio and jump to the shape/group selected, once again minimizing the scrolling search for a particular item.

Background: I've been using InDesign since version 1.0 jumping away from PageMaker and Quark 3.0. My studio uses InDesign six days a week and builds publications from one page to 50 regularly. I'm going to document my test of Affinity Publisher, and I would be interested in how it is going for other studios. Is anyone planning on making the switch before the beta ends? My reasons for looking at alternatives are price and cloud integration. Adobe increased the CC subscription price. Stinky, but what bothers me more is the constant need to integrate the cloud. Every day I wait for the InDesign font-sync to load. Grab a coffee and cookie. Before that was active hyperlink checking. It's a constant problem. My Adobe subscription renews in three weeks. Perfect time for a serious workflow test. Day 1: Download and test 14 page document test. Quickly learned that layers aren't right, but found out that layers will be adjusted in future versions. Day 2: Single page flier test Typesetting a quick color form. No layers. I enjoyed the experience. Good Tabs Alignment Paragraph styles Clip to canvas (love it; some of us like to use preview in InDesign. Some like regular view. This is a happy medium). Bad No padding in a text frame (I didn't see it) I didn't see a way to make a non-breaking space

I have been recreating a novel previously layed out in PagePlus. I am copying and pasting and re-editing from PP to APub. The project contains about 200 pages, 6 master pages. With the Pages and Layers tabs docked in the same area on the right be default, I found it quick to switch from Pages to Layers, but very slow moving from Layers to Pages. It seems to take a long time for APub to rescan all the pages and repositiion to the current page. This became so tiresome, that I moved the Layers tab to dock with Assets, Text Styles, Character, Paragraph tabs on the right side of the window. This has been the case in all the Beta versions I have worked with.

Hi guys, I know I'm probably in the minority here, but as a former longtime Windows PC user, all my Macs get the "tab between all elements” treatment (using the Ctrl+F7 shortcut), and I'm the master nitpicker when it comes to finding inconsistencies in the tabbing implementation because I happen to use the Tab key *a lot* (that's also what having two big screens and losing your mouse cursor a lot on a daily basis, even with El Capitan's “shake cursor to enlarge” function, does to you). This time, I realised two things: 1. When tabbing between fields and interface elements in the “New Document” window, I can never get to the four separators on the bottom half; 2. The little “Presets” button, with the four horizontal lines and the down arrow and to the right-hand side of the “Page Preset” drop-down menu, is never visually highlighted, though it is indeed selectable; also, when pressing the spacebar, the corresponding menu will not open adjacent to said button but underneath wherever the mouse cursor is; furthermore, this behaviour is reproducible in all Beta Affinity apps. So, yep, that's about it. If I can reproduce any of these behaviours elsewhere in Publisher, I'll let you know.

Hi there, I am following the official tutorials and they say gradients are also automatically filled in recent color menu too, not only the solid ones. But in my palette there are only solid colors are automatically filled, like screenshot i’ve attached. Am I doing something wrong?

Is it possible to dock studio panels in 2 columns on one side? I found the options to have studio panels on the left and right at the same time but I would prefer to have panels in two (or even three) columns on one side. I am currently doing lettering of the comic saga Nanits Chronicles in Affinity Designer and my "standard" working layout is to have script and references on the left side (25% of the 21:9 34' screen) and Designer on the right (75%). The artwork should be in the centre, so I have one long Layer panel + other panels on the right (see attached screenshot). The Layer panel is not docked, is actually floating over the workspace. Is there any chance to dock the two panel columns next to each other?

Unfortunately, there is no "function" to save the studio. (If so, please prove me wrong). That does not mean you can't save it manually, and even keep multiple versions of it to suit your different workspaces. As a bonus or drawback, some of your preferences will also be saved or recalled by the same process. To save your Studio configuration (MAC) The following allows you to keep a safe copy of your studio configuration, including the Toolbar and other preferences (I did not know which ones at this point) Quit Affinity Designer From the finder top drop-down menu, select GO and press [option] — [shift] or [^control] on some systems. A new item called Library should appear in the menu. Click it. Navigate to this location : Macintosh HD/Users/YourUserNameHere/Library/Containers/com.seriflabs.affinitydesigner/Data/Library/Preferences Copy the file com.seriflabs.affinitydesigner to a safe location of your choice. I recommend a cloud base storage, so you can get it back on a new or different system at anytimel. Go back to work with peace of mind, your Studio configuration is now safe. To recall the Studio If the studio go astray, or the toolbar plays hide and seek on you: Quit Affinity Designer Copy back com.seriflabs.affinitydesigner to its original location (From where you saved it above) — Replace the existing files Note that the studio will come back the exact same way you had it at the time you copied the file for the first time. Changes you made between the two procedures will be lost. Forever. I have not tested it yet, but I'm sure that some other preference settings will be affected as well, I just don't know to what extent. Multiple Studios: You can make multiple Studio arrangements and save them independently. Just copy com.seriflabs.affinitydesigner to different locations. Be sure to label them properly, so you remember what they are. Very useful on a laptop that uses an external monitor that is not always connected. If you're comfortable with MacOS Automator, you can even create series of app/scripts to save or restore your Studio configuration(s) automatically. Not the smoothest process and I wish there was a prebuilt function for that… But until it does, or someone proves me wrong, it's a workaround. Enjoy!
