  1. An animation project has led me to the conclusion that the ability to build stacks with the macro feature would be a vary useful feature. In my case, I have exported image sequences out of Apple motion which can contain as many as 500 .openexr's. (sometimes more) These must be combined into stacks of 20 apiece. I have not discovered yet a batch/macro to expedite this particular workflow.
  2. First, let me thank everyone at Serif for the amazing job they've done creating Affinity Designer - you're awesome! I would really love to see the addition of transformation effects - scale, shear, rotate, positional adjustment, cloning with recursive transformations, path offset, geometry manipulations, shape distortion, etc. - and, before you tell me that these requests have already been made ('cause let's face it, none of those requests are very original ideas), I'd really love to have the ability to create (and save for later use) a stack of transformation effects that can either act on an object in a specific order according to where they are placed in a hierarchy or can be independently applied where possible (kind of like the way an effects-pedal loop on a guitar amp can apply an effect to the raw, "dry" signal without it directly having an effect on or being directly affected by another effects-pedal). Then, let these transformation stacks be chained together with other transformation stacks. This could be an incredibly powerful and useful tool. I'd suggest also including an option to randomize the variables for those transformations within a user-set range. If anyone else agrees or has additional ideas on this, please post a reply.
  3. I'm new to Affinity, so your patience is welcome. I have been using Aperture and PS Elements, along with NIK software add-ins, so my learning curve has been lengthly for Affinity. I will have to admit, I am loving Affinity, though....I just repeatedly have to refer to the training videos to remember how to do some things. I know, repetition is the ultimate teacher.... I shoot in raw and usually convert to TIFF to modify after minor adjustments, then to JPEG for any printing or posting. My question to you is: Do you recommend developing all raw images BEFORE adding them into a stack, HDR, Focus Merge, etc.?......OR, can you merge the images in raw and get the same results with processing after the merge? I'm just trying to save a little time, if you know what I mean. Thanks, TommyD
  4. Prior to creating a new Exposure Stack or HDR Merge, is it necessary to remove noise, and then save in a lossless format such as .tiff? Thanks!
  5. I can't see another thread that mentions this problem, so here goes. I've been playing with stacking photos, which looks to be a very useful tool, as well as great fun. But if I try to change the stacking method without expanding the stack ... ... Photo crashes with this Windows error: When Photo restarts it gives this message: If I expand the stack before changing the stacking method, everything is fine. I take it from the messages that the details have been sent to you, but I thought I'd put my two-penn'orth in anyway. I'm running Windows 7 on a Toshiba Satellite laptop.
  6. Hi, when in AP Photo Persona and doing "New Stack...">Add several Nikon NEF files>OK>Export as TIFF (or any other format) It seems like all EXIF data included in the original NEF files is lost (shot with Nikon D5300). I would have expected AP to keep common EXIF fields at least. Thanks! Xav'
  7. I have been trying out various AP features this morning. Long term, I'm intrigued by stacking so I took 3 awful photos of the fireplace with my phone and stacked them. The result is horribly misaligned. Curiously if I feed the same 3 photos into "File, New Panorama" or "File HDR Merge" they align well so AP seems to be capable of lining them up. I have tried "Perspective" and "Scale, rotate and translate" options so - what am I doing wrong please? Thanks, John
  8. I'm trying to create a photo stack with a shot of the moon, however, the file comes out purple. It doesn't do this with a single file, just when I try to stack multiple images, any ideas on why this is?
  9. Hi there, I'm having an issue to open a stack of Sony RAW files (.ARW by an A7 Mark II - is on the supported device list) to merge exposures. I attached a screenshot of the result. Same appeared when I first simply was opening .ARW files. This was solved by switching the RAW Engine to Apple. Yay! But I am still facing the problem when opening as a stack! Any help is highly appreciated - thank you! Cheers, André
  10. I have just bought Affinity today for stacking astro photo. I try to stack 2 set of photo. It's almost work except over exposure. I have investigate each image and saw that every of them look like the are +EV. You can see in attach file compare between individual open and in stack. Is that about raw conversion ? I have try with Sony A6300 raw and Panasonic GX8 raw which show the same over exposure in stack. s.pdf
  11. Could you please allow items parsed by the Media Browser to be dragged into or added to a new image stack. Items found in the Aperture or Photos library do not seem accessible when creating a new stack, only items/images from normal folders - not databases. Thank you.
  12. Hi, I'm using de 1.3.5 version of affinity photo and I can't find de "new stack" option like video on vimeo shows ( file options) . How I can refind it or suply his function ? the video post is on Beta? thanks AH stack.pdf
