  1. Having a play around with Designer Beta (1.9.1.1) - Glad to see compounds are working properly again - and seems to be really stable Just thought I'd test out how easy it is now to create muti-spot (kind of duo or triple-tone) now that 'convert to image resource' is a right click away - glad to say it's working great, and although some might say it involves a bit of faff to get the results, it's way way less faff than the old way - Well Done Matt PšŸ‘ Screen_Grab_2021-02-16_at_12_18_00.mov
  2. I've a design going to print but because of the process involved I have been asked to separate fine line content (small text and thin lines) from filled areas (polygons) and assign them to two separate spot colours, even though they are printed using the same colour. In AD I can set up two different spot colours referencing the same Pantone colour from the swatches, name them differently and assign them to the associated objects in the design. However, when I come to export it seems that the same (first) colour is used for both groups of objects. Honour Spot Colours is checked in the export se
  3. Hello When I export an image with spot colours as TIFF or EPS, the spot colours don't appear in the exported image. It looks like they are converted to CMYK. They do appear in an exported PDF but I haven't checked any other format. Thanks! Bauke
  4. It seems that Spot Colours in eps files are not supported... If I import/place an eps file with spot colours defined, these spot colours aren't imported into the swatches panel. If I select "Create Palette From Document > As Document Palette" I get a whole list of colours, none of them actually appear on the page. If you want to delete this palette, this doesn't work: Select Delete Palette from the Swatches Drop down menu, a pane appears asking you to confirm that you want to delete the palette, click "Yes" and thePalete is still there. The eps file seems to have been convert
  5. Hi, does Affinity allow for: 1. Overprint - I need to overprint certain colours for final print output. 2. Overprint Preview 3. Separations Preview - this is vital in seeing the final output of colours prior to going to print (other than printing physical seps). 4. Spot Colours - In the interim, does Affinity support spot colours - even if its not Pantone Book colours, I then can name it a pantone for the printers reference.
  6. Hi all. Maybe this is too much to ask at this time, and I know I've already mentioned this earlier, but I've been testing Affinity Designer periodically for proper spot colour gradient support (sometimes I miss a beta or two and I may skip the one that finally brings that feature to the table, hence my method). I cobbled up two similar files in Affinity and Illustrator, with gradients from spot colour to spot colour, spot colour to white, and spot colour to 0% opacity spot colour, and exported them to .PDF. For good measure, I also threw in a 50% opacity spot colour as a control sw
  7. Hello all, I'm working on Designer to create an advertising banner (to be printed). I'm exporting to CMYK PDF. The printing company requires "all spot colours to be converted to CMYK before creating the PDF". Does this have anything to do with the option "Honour spot colours"? You can find attached the presets I've used. Many thanks for your help. Nic
