  1. Latest Photo creation:
  2. Created entirely with Affinity Photo and my fractal artwork.
  3. Decided to create a spacescape in Photo. It's my first one using Affinity Photo and only Affinity. Very interesting and fun. Ran into several bugs, especially related to slider usage and maximum numbers and reported these in the bugs forum. Enjoy!
  4. "Ray-Gun-Omics Poster" Affinity Photo Digital Illustration Instagram - @chaos3rdeye Website- www.chaosabzu.com Stay tuned for more!
  5. Here are a few of the illustration that I created for a site I just finished working on. All the final images were SVG files but many of them started with a photo reference or with original art created in Photo. There are a few that were all done in Designer as well. For some of the images (such as the quasar and the fusion image) I also used Flame Painter which is a fractal paint application and would then bring those elements into Photo to composite and adjust them to get the final art. I can go into more of the process if anyone is interested. Cheers! Jeff The Universe from A to Z
  6. Hey Serif, is there (in aff designer) an option to minimize the studio panel tools to single icons as its implemented in PS? I work often on my 15" inch laptop with fullhd and i have lack of place here because the studio has its own minimal width and cannot be minimized. Viewport is much better in PS thanks this and i will appreciate this feature in designer too, because i actually replaced PS by your sexy software :) Thanks. Sorry for possible topic duplicate - i couldn't read every feature request here. Tom
  7. Hi, I'm new to Affinity Designer and Photo and been learning a lot from all the tutorials which are great, however, I can't find anything on how to create a starry night sky from scratch. I browsed Youtube and found how to do it with Photoshop but they use all the PS shortcuts and UI so I have no idea how to do it with Affinity or if its even possible. Can someone share some knowledge about this? My goal is to make a starry night sky with colorful gas clouds.
  8. As part of my scheme to transfer from natural media to digital illustration, I set myself an exercise of making a sci-fi book cover illustration. Not that you see much of this sort of thing these days, but I was a big fan of Chris Foss in the 70s when his work was gracing the covers of many books. One thing I missed during the process of making this image is a way to warp and tilt objects. Perhaps I'm just missing something. Anyway, I think I'd be confident to present vector artwork files to my illustration clients at this stage. I tried to go digital in the early naughties with a program called Painter but it was a disaster for me -I was trying to use the program like natural media and the quality plummeted! I've also attached the initial scamp which was also done in AD in the Pixel Persona using my Wacom Bamboo tablet.
  9. Hi There is one feature that is missing in Designer: Limitless Workspace. Many of artists creates multiple samples of current design ( i.e. Logo, weblayout ) in one open file. And i takes a lot of space. Could you make a workspace similar to this in freeware InkScape, where there is a document area on workspace but whole - almost unlimited - workspace is avaliable for drawing, testing, and aside creating ?
  10. I think a really handy option for the 'export' dialogue would be 'Space around image'. I regularly send logo proofs to customers as JPEG or PNG. When exporting selections, the resulting image always perfectly frames the objects selected (which is good). However sometimes I like to add a border to make the image more easily viewable to the client. Could there be an option to add a certain number of pixels evenly around an exported bitmap? I don't always want to adjust the artboard or add another object to achieve this.
  11. Would love to have the same functionality of spacebar as in Photoshop/Illustrator where you could hold down space when resizing or using pen tool to move the object/anchor point around! It increases the workflow speed by a lot! :)
  12. So I started a personal story project about a year back with characters and backgrounds made in Illy - had a few hours to myself this Sunday evening so started to re-produce the hole series in Affinity.
  13. Another in a series of space exploration themed posters featuring quotes from Carl Sagan.
  14. Hallo, ich habe auf YouTube ein Tutorial hochgeladen wie man ein Planeten-Thema erstellt. Viel Spaß beim Schauen! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MVmLhnQHaZs

  16. General UI Layout: Vertical Space Usage There's something that drives me _bananas_ about PS Elements; but it's also a concern about almost every graphics & photo app in existence: Most User Interfaces squander valuable vertical screen real estate, heedlessly and unnecessarily. Here's the situation: - Modern screens are much wider than tall. - Many people spend at least some of their productive time working on a little laptop screen. - Even with Retina displays, it's often necessary to limit screen res, for UI legibility. - Documents, layouts and graphics are just as likely to be portrait orientation, as landscape. So obviously vertical space is way more likely to be a problem than horizontal. When you're working on a portrait style page or a tall object, every last vertical pixel is precious. (Worst case scenario: Editing a portrait in PS Elements, you're lucky to have 30% of screen pixels for your image!! Absurd.) This is probably more of a request for the upcoming Affinity Photo app; but it sure would be useful to have in Designer, too: It would be über useful to have at least the option of getting all interface elements off to the sides to allocate all vertical resources to the document/page. 2 different UI layout presets, maybe? – 1 for landscape, 1 for portrait? Thanks for your consideration!
  17. Sunday afternoon illustration...(well and a bit of saturday evening too)
