When exporting a document in the export persona the manually entered size (e.g. 1200w) is not accepted. The document in the first place is exported with the original dimensions. Repeating the step a second time (without changeing anything in between) exports the document correctly as entered in the edit field. Cheers, Timo -
Hello, I'm a new Affinity user, i've problem with resize a new document. once i choose the Type and Page Preset custom selected. but i try to put the customised page size into the dimensions it just won't change change. also tried to change the size from Document Setup > dimensions > Rescale. same problem, i hope you guys have some solution or if there's some other way please guide me. Thanks -
It would be great to increase the icon size in the layer panel (steps would be great, but individualy seamless even better)

I tried to process a RAW foto (Nikon NEF format, camera is Nikon D3200). - The file can be opened without any problem. Fine. - Then I applied some changes in the develop persona. - Then I saved the file in Affinity's native format and got stunned. The original file has a size of 20,4 MB (24 MPix) - the converted "afphoto" file has a size of 458 MB (yes, fourhundred fifty eight megabytes)! So the size has increased by factor ~22! - I attached two screenshots that show the properties of both files (sorry, German labels...). Why??? What happes here? In fact, that's a show stopper for me because that makes the resulting files "unbackupable".

Insert artboard – wrong size when object has a stroke with Mitre Join. Reproduced on two Macs with non-beta and on Windows with Affinity Designer in beta version. How to reproduce: Create an object eg. rectangle, Set it's stroke width eg. 5pt, Set Join: Mitre Select that object Use Artboard Tool -> Insert Artboard Size of created artboard will be larger than it should be, there is no problem with Brevel and Round Join. As you can see on a picture I attached, there are two rectangles, only difference is the first one has Round Join and the second Mitre Join. Left artboard was created with proper size the second one has strange margin. Sometimes margin is bigger, sometimes smaller – I haven't figured out what it's size depends on. -
Just created a Word Press header ( the size they wanted). Exported it as a png, this was too big when I uploaded it to WP so tried it as a jpeg. Same issue. I have no hair left...... There is black on the top and bottom on the design I have done in AD Do you have any ideas as to what I am doing wrong? Thanks SHIVY

Hello. first of all, sorry for my bad english. I'm from Germany. I'm testing the Beta from the affinity Designer. I started a new document in 4x6 Inches, and as i wanted to print it on a paper with the same size, it didn't worked. It always changed the printing size of the paper in A4 Format. Hope you can fix this. If this is not the right place for Posts like this, please tell me where i can tell my Problems with the Beta. Thanks so far. Regards, Manuel -
When working with textures for 3D work, we usually want to use so called "Power of two" resolutions, because they are more optimized. So I'd like a new category of presets: "Power of two", i.e. 128x128px, 512x512px, 4096x4096px etc. From 1x1px to 32768x32768px.

I'm sure there is a simple answer, but can't find it anywhere: how can I make font size of text inside a group scale proportionally with the group? -
How to change the global size of the icons, and other fields in this program? With different monitors may not appear correctly. For example, my laptop is 15.6 "- 1080, and the home PC 24" - 1080p. But the laptop is not very pleasant to work because of the small screen and huge icons. Look a screenshot to understand what I'm saying. PS In Photoshop you can not change the size, but substituting other "manifest file", you can change it. I changed the size of a laptop (reduced), and for 4k monitor (increased). -
hi all, i have a question that i hope you might be able to solve: when i export my afdesign files to eps and my supplier opens them with coral draw, the size changes, e.g. from the original 120x120cm to 90x90cm. this happens all the time and neither he or i can explain why that happens - anyone got an idea?

Hi again, When playing with embedded documents, two things are missing to me (but perhaps I've not found them yet) Let's say my embedded document has a width of 1024px. Once embedded to a parent document, we can decide (quite often) to resize it, and if ever, I'm missing: • An information on the transform panel telling me by how much it has been resized from its original size. (ie. transformed width = 643px --> scale would show somewhere 62,79% • A button + right click menu entry, etc. to instantly scale it back to it's original dimension What do you think? -
I used to use Graphic (formally iDraw.) I liked how it used large icons for people like myself who have retina displays that make traditional UIs seem small. This option should be added under view > customize tools so that I can change the size and which tools to display at the same time.

If i open a RAW-File (from my Alpha 58) with AFPhoto and save it – without any changes – the size of the file is extremely large ! From 20 MB (standard-file/PSD-file) to 150 MB (after saving in AFPhoto) ! I open the file in Affinity Photo and press „develop“ (in German its called „entwickeln“ !) … and then i just save the file. Is there anything wrong ? I cant’t believe that the file size is the real result ?!? thx for help -
This would be awfully useful for anyone that uses AD for design work. Especially web and UI designers that work together with developers and need to give them the full detail of the design.

I'm a fairly new user of AP (after many years of PS), so I have a question: does anyone know what the sample size of the eye dropper tool is, and is the size adjustable (sometimes I need a 3 x 3 px size, sometimes 30 x 30 px is needed). Thanks in advance for the answer(s). -
Hi Folks, Beginner question here. So I've got a logo design Ive done using AD. I'm semi-happy with it and ready to start trying on some mock-up stationary etc. However, whenever I re-size it using the Shift key and dragging the corners in it all goes a bit wrong. The text size doesn't change so ends up massively out of proportion, the shapes Ive created don't decrease in size as they should and it ends up looking a right mess. I'm new to the whole design world and still finding my feet. What is the best process for designing, creating a logo that will go across a multitude of products (Stationary, websites etc) and what is the best way to transfer it onto mock ups without destroying the logo when re-siziing it. It would be nice to have an option for the "default font size". This could also be saved within a document and be set as "advanced options" if one creates a new document.

I am unable to find a command to make all selected objects the same size. Did I miss it, or is this still on the 'To Do' list? -
I have to save some of my pictures at 2 MB or slightly below. Can't see how to do that. -
Hey guys! Im setting up my document for wallpaper creation - (sidenote) I think we need all apple devices in, not just mobile. It would be nice to have iMac 5K, iMac 4K, 15" MBP Retina as options and iPad Pro 9.7 Anyways. When I did Device>iPad Pro>Insert Artboard - It gave a resolution higher than 5K Same goes for iPhone 6 Plus, 6, and 5 It would be nice to get the exact resolution that the website details. Is this a bug, or is there a reason Im not figuring out? -
I figured I would ask here to make sure someone else can search to find an updated answer. I don't care to see the brush pattern, most of my brushes I just click as a stamp. I have about 300 bruise. Any way to see them like PS and also change between Small and Large. thanks

Hello Affinity ! Have a weird problem and wanted to make sure i'm doing it correctly. I have a load of large scans of old photos, with multiple photos on each file. They were scanned at 1200 dpi as TIFFs. I've loaded them into Affinity and want to select each photo from the large scan and make a separate one. I've selected the area with the marquee, copied it then 'New From Clipboard' however the resultant image is clearly a lower resolution and size from the original when viewed at 100%. I've tried copying an area then creating a new file at 1200dpi and pasting it and it looks fine and the right size. It seems 'New From Clipboard' isn't transferring over the resolution maybe ? Or the size ? Or am i missing something ? Any suggestions welcome. cxi2001
