  1. Not sure wether it came with the last update or later, but I cannot use 4-key combos anymore. I normally use ctr+sh+alt+S all the time to export, but now it does nothing. Checked settings>shortcuts, and it's still there. If I remove it and try to register it manually, only the 3 first keys are recognized. I have no new keyboard, software etc.
  2. Sample image attached Since i use the "export > share > save image" option 90% of my time, it would be really nice to have the option to add this "tool" to the main toolbar. Ofc even better, if you could add specific tools and options to the toolbar, like the sample image i made. I thought i would be able to do that now since there are keyboard shortcuts available, but sadly there are obviously options missing that could improve my workflow a lot! either way, adding those custom tools, improving the shortcut options (adding custom shortcuts to custom tools/options), or add
  3. This Affinity Spotlight article has PDFs and souce files for the latest Affinity Designer and Affinity Photo Desktop keyboard shortcuts. https://affinityspotlight.com/article/downloadable-affinity-keyboard-shortcut-cheat-sheets/ It is part of the Learning category that compliment the video tutorials
  4. Hi all, Recently purchased a keyboard and mouse to use along with my iPad Pro, as I thought I would be able to use Affinity Designer more intuitively. Only to find that the program is missing some very basic keyboard shortcuts. Some examples of the shortcuts in question are: Artboard panning (Spacebar + Drag), along with CMD button and (-)/(+) for zooming in and out. I really wanted to be able to invest more time into Affinity on the iPad, but feel like I can't with it lacking such basic shortcuts. Does anyone know if these are going to be added at some point (hopefu
  5. Hi, I'm a recent Photoshop convert. I'm generally a very happy chap but I am sorely missing the ability to: alt [ (or) alt ] to quickly move up and down from layer to layer. example, In Photoshop, if there are several layers and layer 1 is visible, alt ] selects the next layer and makes it visible, while deselecting and hiding the previous one. Yes, I can alt-click the thumbnail in Photo to do similar (which is a great feature), but the keyboard shortcut is a valuable tool, particularly if you need to a/b/c edits or if animating something. alt click a layers checkbox to show/hid
  6. (later edit: sorry for the bitchy title  ) I know there's been a few threads requesting either unlock all or hideObject/unhideAll, but I'm so frustrated that I created an account just to post this. I think AD is pretty awesome, the transition was almost flawless except this. Not even sure how some people can handle it in the current state, I know I'm struggling. If I want to unhide something, I have to dig through countless layers and hope to not spend the next half hour scrolling, looking for a missing checkmark. It's silly, really silly. I know some people are fine with
  7. Hello, I am using Affinity Photo, Designer & Publisher version 1.9.0.932 on a Windows 10 machine. No matter in which programme...I save my own shortcuts, work in the respective programme...save my documents...close the programme...when I restart, my shortcuts are gone again and only the standard shortcuts are active. What can I do to load my own shortcuts automatically? Thanks for any information on how to solve this problem.
  8. Hi, I have a problem with the zoom shortcut (ctrl + spacebar) sometimes it doesn't work , only works if I press first spacebar and wait to press ctrl (If I press the two keys at the same time, or ctrl first the zoom tool doesn't work) , There is a way to fix this? . Thanks
  9. I want to start with how impressed I’m with Affinity Photo. This is probably the only software I happily paid for. I’m so tired of monthly subscriptions and the value in Affinity is huge. And honestly for me Affinity Photo is the only reason to use an iPad. So nice for small jobs and family stuff. Saying that… there are functions missing that will keep me away from using it. At least for now. As a “professional” photographer in the Fashion and Advertising business for 10 years now and a photoshop user since Photoshop CS2 there are functions that I think are really important and are m
  10. Hi everybody, Probably a silly question, though still worth asking: how do you ad selections when you have already created one? Example: pick the Lazo tool and select an area of your image (or the Rectangular Marquee... Any selection tool really). Now select another area while maintaining the previous one intact. Just add more selections after the first one in the same image. In Photoshop you just hold "Shift" and keep adding selections. Second question: customizing the keyboard shortcut doesn't seem to work. When I insert a new shortcut, in my case "ALT + Backspace" to fill t
  11. Hello, is there any shortcut to use will have a selection tool to change between add and subtract instantly? Like in PS? This will make my life waaaay easier. thank you!
  12. What is your operating system and version (Windows 10, OSX Mojave, iOS 12 etc)? macOS Big Sur 11.1 Affinity Designer 1.8.6 (trial version) What happened for you (and what you expected to happen) I want to remove "B" as a shortcut for the Pixel Tool, so it doesn't swap to Paint Brush Tool if I accidentally hit B twice. Every time I open the Designer, Pixel Tool has its shortcut set to "B". Provide a recipe for creating the problem (step-by-step what you did). remove the shortcut "B" for Pixel Tool.
  13. [Designer] Hi, Is there another way to convert nodes, other than going to the Pen or Node Tool's Contextual (horizontal) Toolbar, and pressing buttons? Like, shortcuts for: Convert to Sharp or Smooth node? Or Reverse Curve? I already have keyboard shortcuts for Close and Break Curve – whose toolbar buttons are right beside the Convert ones. But those are the only Pen or Node Tool shortcuts I could find in the Prefs. Two related things I would love: - A way to 'pull' Control Handles out of a sharp node (or pop them back in to make a sharp point), via some modifier key(s) with
  14. Hello, I'm trying to redefine the keyboard shortcuts for brush resize (squadre brackes are a bit uncomfortable for me), it seems I have to redefine them separately for every different brush type. Is there a way to change the shortcuts for all brushes at once? I know I can also use Ctrl-Alt + mouse drag but it's very difficult for me dragging on one axis, so I often end up changing brush hardness too... Thank you in advance, Mario
  15. Using Affinity Photo 1.8.6 on a fully updated Intel iMac running Mac OS 10.15.7 (19H15), I have the following frustrating feature: At first, I was horrified at the way keypresses automatically "toggled" through multiple tools, such as hitting M four times for four different kinds of marquee selectors. I've got 30+ years of Photoshop muscle memory, and when I hit the M key, I want a rectangle marquee selector, and nothing else. Happily I saw this that you can turn this off in this post: However, while turning on "use shift key to toggle tools" and de-selecting the tools I don't want
  16. I hope to use F key shortcut (useually I assign F to Move tool) but it assigned for "Toggle between Frequency Separation layers" and I can't change it. (my enviroment: windows10, ver1.8.5.703, Japanse launguage) LilleG said the below in 2016: > I have Deleted the shortcut for Toggle Frequency Layer, entered the one for Flood Fill Tool, saved the shortcuts. But no matter what I do...the next time I open Affinity Photo, "F" is once again also there for Toggle Frequency Layer. but I can't found this shortcut in the preference.☹️ please advice me for anything. thank you.
  17. Is this a bug or something intended? I would prefer to delete the "F" shortcut for Toggle Frequency Layer (an action I might use once every fourth blue moon!) and replace it with "F" for the Flood Fill tool, which I do use with a lot of (NPI) frequency. I have Deleted the shortcut for Toggle Frequency Layer, entered the one for Flood Fill Tool, saved the shortcuts. But no matter what I do...the next time I open Affinity Photo, "F" is once again also there for Toggle Frequency Layer. Even if I load in my saved shortcuts! Why can this not be permanently deleted? All the rest of my edi
  18. Hi guys, I just uploaded a new video about 6 shortcuts in Affinity Photo that will be useful for you when editing. I hope enjoy this video, thank you!
  19. howdy :) does anyone know how to customize the keyboard commands in affinity photo? thank you in advance :) ^-^
  20. I'm wondering if anybody has done a Affinity-Shortcuts-Cheat-Sheet for Publisher? Or is it too soon with possible changes still to come?
  21. When sketching, drawing or painting in Photoshop, I usually do so in full-screen with all the UI turned off. In Affinity Photo, I can do this as well (hit TAB to hide the UI), but there are a few issues that would prevent this from being the same experience as in Photoshop, the most important one of which being the fact that AP toggles tools rather then just selects a new tool when hitting a keyboard shortcut! For instance, if I hit B in Photoshop, I can be absolutely sure the brush tool is now active even though there is no UI that would tell me so. In AP, I can never be sure until I actu
  22. Hi to all, Is it possible to select two layers, or two groups of layers, and toggle back and forth between them? When editing photos, I will often put two different ideas on two different layers: Let's say "A" is a curves layer where I've put a lot of contrast and "B" a curves layer where I've put only a little contrast. I want to look at one, then the other, to see which idea I like best. As it stands now, the only thing that I seem to be able to do is to uncheck A to see what B looks like; then uncheck B and check A to see what A looks like; then uncheck A and rechec
  23. Hi to all, Considering the crickets I heard with this post on the Affinity on Desktop Questions forum, I'm assuming that the following is not currently possible, and therefore posting here as a request: When editing photos, I will often put two different ideas on two different layers. Let's say "A" is a curves layer where I've put a lot of contrast and "B" a curves layer where I've put only a little contrast. I want to look at one, then the other, to see which idea I like best. 24. Hi all, TIA for help, and really appreciate the product and this community... I'm a new user trying to make a smoother transition from Adobe to Affinity. The biggest hurdle I keep running in to is understanding WHERE to find things. I know there are keyboard shortcuts (as well as the tips on the bottom of the Navigator), but that's not what I'm looking for. I know there are a ton of video tutorials, but I don't have time to sit through them with eyes plastered so as not to miss the one cursor movement I need. What I can't find is a simple way to see how to interact with the UI to ac
