Hi, I am using a MAS version of affinity photo 1.4.3 and every time I try to make a selection and have the output as New Layer then click apply, nothing happens. A new layer comes up but it's blank... Anyone else have this issue or know why it is happening? This just started in the last week. Jason

Hi; I've noticed that I cannot make multiple selections. I mean, I use the marquee tool to select an area, then press Shift and use the marquee tool in a different area. The first selection area dissappears. This happens with any selection tool, including magic wand. Missing something? Thanks; Val

I currently use Photoshop but I am hoping that the new Windows based version of Affinity photo will be a replacement for it. As an artist I frequently scan my drawings which I then have to clean up in PS to remove paper texture/discolouration. In order to do this I currently use the Select > Colour Range feature in PS and then select the paper colour i.e. white which I can then delete and using an additional layer filled with a white background I have a perfectly sharp and clear ink sketch. It is essential for me to be able to have this feature for my work because it is a massive time saver and without it I would not be able to produce a clean image from my scanned artwork. Will this feature be available in your new Affinity photo or am I going to be stuck with Photoshop? Because this work sequence is difficult to explain I have attached a sketch which I hope will clarify what I need to be able to do with my scanned artwork.

Hi, So I have these two photos and I want to replace the tree in the long exposure shot with the tree that doesn't have the motion blur in it from the wind. I can't seem to figure out how to make a really good selection of the tree in either picture. It would take forever to do it with the quick selection brush and refine it. I'm sure there is a way to make this an easier process. Does any one have suggestions? Cheers, Jason

Please add some sort of functionality that allows adding, subtracting, intersecting objects marquees and masks in AD and AP through a right-click in the layers palette.

Hi, I'm enjoying Affinity Photo, but the main reason I find myself having to use Photoshop now is the lack of Fixed Ratio and Fixed Size style options for the rectangular selection marquee. I use these all the time, and would really appreciate having this functionality added to AP :) Cheers and thanks!

Hello. I am using Affinity Photo. I have an image that has 2 objects in it. I want to cut these objects out of the image to remove the background. The Selection Brush Tool and Refine Selection option is not accurate enough to create and refine the selection boundary. I have created a closed curve around each of the objects in the image. Each curve is on a separate layer. Can I convert these curves to a selection so I can cut them out of the image? I have looked in the Help document and also viewed the videos on the Affinity website but cannot find any information regarding this type of task. Thanks in advance for your help. Cheers

AD seems to do okay with double-clicking groups to go inside the group (similar to isolation mode in AI), and I usually can get to the object thats deeper than one level, but when I get to that level and I want to select the items in that level I cannot do it with the move tool (which one can mistake for a selection tool I guess) by marquee selecting the objects in that level. I suppose this is due to what I just mentioned, there truly is not a select tool, or a direct select tool.

I would like the ability to transform selections by pulling nodes to lengthen or shorten sides, enlarge or shrink entire selections, and warp selections. I use this functionality in Photoshop constantly. Affinity Photo is becoming a worthy competitor, but this functionality is missing.

Hi! Sorry about the question, but I only find a way in AD to select an element that is behind another: Go to layers. Then select in this panel the desired element. In FreeHand you can use Ctrl+Click to select an element that is behind another. In QuarkXPress you click with the mouse an with the keys Caps+Option+Command pressed. Then you go back and forth the pile of elements clicking the mouse. That way you can select the desired element. Thanks for your help and keep up the good work! I spend some money in October. And you are the guilty!!! ;) Saludos desde España.
