Where are the settings for settings a line below(or above) a line of text? Usually used to format headings or sections in a document. -
I am trying to join certain Affinity Facebook groups, which ask for a code supposedly found in the "rules" on the website "affinity-group.community." When I go there, and click on Rules, they do not show therefore there is no "red letter code" to be found! This is pretty ridiculous, honestly. I've been using Affinity avidly since they first came out. I have attached snapshots of both the Affinity site (that's supposed to have the code), and the FB page popup window. What the heck?!?! Help please, as I would very much like to join these groups as a long time loyal customer should be treated.

Following up another thread in which I wrote about having trouble putting a simple rule (stroke) around a rectangular object of type "pixel." The controls for adding a rule work with an object of type "image," but don't work with one of type "pixel". The convert-to-picture-frame menu item is inaccessible when you right-click a pixel object. By accident I discovered an odd workaround: If you select the vector crop tool and crop the pixel object by even some imperceptible amount on one side, suddenly the convert-to-picture-frame menu item does become accessible. Which of these features are by design? Might any of them be bugs? 1. Can't draw a rule (stroke) around a pixel object* 2. Can't convert a pixel object to a picture frame—not immediately. BUT: 3. Slight crop with the vector crop tool enables converting the pixel object to a picture frame * It can be done with the Outline layer effect, but that dialog does not permit enabling square corners (it supports only rounded ones) as far as I know. -
Affinity Publisher newbie here. After working in Publisher with an image that had changed from "image" to "pixel", I found I was no longer able to draw a thin rule around it in the way it can be done with a text frame or image frame. There's always the Outline layer effect, but it does the job only partway. With Outline there don't seem to be controls for how the corners are drawn—they are always rounded. But is there a way to alter the corners using some other controls in the program?

I'm putting together a small book of photographs and as a newcomer to Publisher I'm not sure what are considered best practices for working with images. I can give an image a border (a thin rule) whether or not it's in a frame. Then again, I can't seem to assign a style via the Styles palette (specifying a particular rule width and color) to images lacking frames. Using the Styles palette is pretty quick and the results are predictable. I could be missing something here. There might be situations I haven't encountered in which not having a frame would cause problems in the future. What might they be? On the other hand, is using an image frame simply overkill a lot of the time? (If I want to lock the image "in the raw," that's one command within the Layers palette. But if it has a frame, I have to lock the frame and image separately ... somewhat irritating that there's no option to lock both at once as it doesn't seem possible to select both at the same time...or, is it?)

In InDesign there is a function to place a rule (line) above and/or below text. One can adjust the line up or down in relation to the text. The function is available as a character trait, so in the case of equations, I could create a rule (line) below the numerator (top number) and adjust it to be centered vertically between the numerator and denominator of the equation. Publisher has similar styles called line above and line below, but they are both paragraph level—not character level—styles. Is there a way to modify them to work just on selected characters instead of on the whole paragraph? I've searched the fora and YouTube videos and haven't found any help. Thanks in advance for your feedback! -
I am in the midst of creating a multi-page test document and I am stumped trying to find a paragraph rules option. Is such an option available in the Beta? If so, where can I find it? Otherwise I really do hope it will be included in a future update.

Hi, I've had a quick search for these related items and couldn't find and they're niggling me, not having them in Designer. They're related to Rules/Rulers/Guides... Perhaps new feature requests!?!: Drag ruler back into the ruler area to remove Right-click ruler bar for options (remove all, place rule at a set distance, units change) Drag ruler outside the ruler area to force a scroll When dragging a new ruler out, so a live measurement on the line as well as in the transform pallette (maybe?) Hi, I would like to start my rules from the bottom to the top of the document and not from top to the bottom. How can I do that ? Thanks. Romain
