  1. Rotate Canvas really useful but, when Canvas rotated, Selection Outline (Marching Ants) is not visible. iPad Air 2; 2017 Pro 12.9 AP beta 1.6.7.68 iOS 11.1
  2. I want to custom rotate multiple layers, I can find fixed rotational parameters, but not a custom one. When the Move Tool is used, all the layers elements are selected but the corner manual rotation double arrow is not there - see attached screenshot. I have tried using various keyboard actions with the Move Tool but to no avail. I need the multiple layers to all rotate accurately, so individual layer rotations are not effective and I do not want to flatten to rotate. In PS this is easily achievable, what am I missing in AP.
  3. Hello! I’m testing Autodesk Sketchbook with Wacom Intuos Photo Small tablet. I can zoom, rotate and move (in any direction) canvas with two fingers, without take fingers off tablet. It is very comfortable. Can you implement such feature in Affinity Designer / Photo (Windows)? I love Affinity software but I miss comfortable manipulation of canvas. Sławek
  4. This seems a little too basic to have to ask, but the Help system is not helping. I have an image that I want to rotate a few degrees prior to doing some perspective correction. The Help entry says I can grab "rotation handles" but all I see are a blue outline with blue X's at the corners and midpoints. When I try to "display rotation point" I get nothing. None of the shift type keys have any effect. Is this one of those "can't get there from here" features that I seem to run into on occasion? Thanks!
  5. Hello, Wouldn't it be easier if we could rotate an object using trackpad gesture?. Current implemented feature is rotating view using trackpad gesture. So, to rotate object it could be like; click the object we wanted to rotate, then hold shift and do the rotation gesture accordingly. In addition, you could do the same with object resizing with zoom gesture. Background issue: sometime it's little "annoying" pointing the cursor to the right spot to get rotation control on. To sum up, we all know that Mac's magic trackpad is one thing that make it standout from other hardware interfaces available on the market. And every Mac's user loves it. So why we wouldn't take it to its true potential? Thanks, Regards
  6. In affinity Designer, I can rotate an object using the Transform panel by selecting any corner point (or centre) and then entering the number of degress to rotate it. However there does not appear to be a way to use the transform panel to rotate around the basepoint which I can drag from the centre of an object. The only way to do this is to hover over the object itself and drag it on the canvas. Selecting the centre node on the transform panel and then entering a rotation in degrees should rotate it around the point at which i drag the rotation centre node on my object to. How can I rotate an object around a basepoint by a specified number of degrees? Thanks.
  7. I am an Affinity for iPad newbie after using Photoplus for a number of years on a Windows desktop, and I have to say that affinity is amazing! I am truly impressed with the capabilities of this app! Anyway, I have a problem that I hope someone can help me with and it is this: When I rotate an image, either by using the View tool or using the Rotate tool in the Transform Studio and then close the image it does not save in the new format. For example, if I open an image that is landscape, and then rotate the image to portrait orientation (using view tool or the transform studio) when I close the image Affinity does not save the new orientation. What am I doing wrong?
  8. When I rotate a CR2 image 90º clockwise in the Develop module it does just what it should. However, when I finish and it goes into the Photo persona the lower part is a white transparency. I've tried this on several portrait shot images and they all do the same. I'm using OS X 10.12.6. Here's one example.
  9. Hi! Please Add Decimal Places for Rotation, Shear and dpi resolution (number shown in top-left when Move tool is selected) It can be useful and in many cases and make program more precise;)
  10. I've tried exporting, saving, sharing but the image I rotated in AP IPad saves as upside down in Photos, ICloud Drive, etc. even though it looks fine on ipad. Is it me or a bug or?
  11. I am using Affinity photo trial to do some post-processing on stitched panoramas. To get rid of the occasional stich fault I am using the clone or healing brush quite a bit. To use them - because of the perspective you need to quite often rotate the brush which works well for positive numbers but if you need to rotate a brush slightly in the other direction you need to enter 358 or 359 - a negative number like -1 or -2 is not accepted. It would be very helpful if that could be introduced at some point - it would make work with the clone and healing brush easier. Cheers.
  12. I'd really love to be a able to define how shift rotate snaps. ie if i could choose other integers than just 15deg or rotating to the decimal point or having to type it., or at least please make the shift-rotate per 5deg or smth cause the 15deg feels like a huge handicap for me. if there's a solution and i just havent figured it out please someone let me know thanks to anyone that read this :) be well all.
  13. I think its been motioned before but please add in the ability to use the rotate command in the cintqe touch Wacom to allow for canvas rotation and zoom!!!! Also the ability to map canvas rotate to the touch ring on a standard Wacom!!!
  14. Hi, I am trying to do a power duplicate while rotating an ellipse. the amount of rotation needs to be as precise as possible. I and trying to create seven ellipses in a perfect circle. The attached file shows what I am trying to do. I need seven smaller ellipses equally spaced around a larger ellipse. I have created one and changed its rotation point to the center of the larger ellipse. It works fine if I manually rotate it but if I enter a precise rotation value (51.428571429) in the transform panel, the rotation point is ignored and it just rotates around itself. Thanks.
  15. Hi there, it would be great if it would be possible to rotate a guideline so that it is possible to adjust an angle. In an old version of Corel Draw it was possible to rotate the guidelines by moving one endmarker of it in the ruler. (Please find the attached jpg on the bottom) This was a very easy way to freely place and adjust the guidelines. Regards Hardy
  16. I would like to hold a key down with a selected object and be able to rotate and size using the trackpad gestures. Need to get away from using this handlebar nonsense! Another great feature would be to use Force Touch to set a pivot/transform point in relation to the object. For example, I often want to rotate an element with the pivot point in on the side, not the center. Supporting holding down a keyboard button to constrain to preset amounts (e.g. 45º for rotation, 10px for transform) should still work too.
  17. Hi guys, I cannot find a way to rotate / scale if I have several curve points selected (see screenshot), which makes the way to work with a bunch of points exhausting. I'm sure I just have overlooked it didn't found it in the forum as well. Thanks for your help, Stefan
  18. In Brushes > More, the 'Rotation' slider only goes from 0-50% (instead of 0-100%). This means brushes can only be rotated 180º, instead of the full 360º. For plain round or square brushes, this may not be such a problem, however for shaped brushes this obviously creates a severe limitation. As an example, if you're painting on a layer mask with a grass brush in order to blend an object, because you're only able to rotate the brush 180º, you can't use that brush for all sides. That's obviously only one scenario, however the same would be true for lots of different types of brushes, I.E. Hair brushes, fur brushes, arrow brushes, etc. where they need the full 360 degree rotation. Additionally, there also doesn't appear to be a way to flip a brush on the X or Y axis either, although having the ability to flip a brush maybe more of a 'feature request' than bug per se. Please see attached screenshot.
  19. Using Windows Photo Beta and having copied an area to a new pixel layer. Placing the Rotation Centre cursor in the desired spot on the new pixel layer and double clicking will not hold the rotation center in desired position, immediately returning to center of selection. This error is repeatable nad has only held for me twice in many attempts.
  20. Under Document > Rotate there are two Rotate 90 Clockwise one should be Rotate 90 Counterclockwise
  21. I love the various grids on the crop function in AP, but when you correct image tilt and want to keep as much of the image as possible you have to fiddle with the cropping until you have caught the maximum rectangle. Maybe you already have a function like that hidden somewhere, but if not, it would be great if there was a function which could sense the edge of transparency itself and crop just before that. I would certainly help less gifted people like me :)
  22. DA 1.5.0.15 Forgive me if this has been brought up before, I couldn't find anything in the forums and the Windows beta help is broken. When rotating an object, the height and width appear to be linked to the original orientation, not the new one. For example, a horizontal rectangle that's 50 wide and 10 tall will still be 10 tall when it's rotated 90 degrees. It's now 50 tall and 10 wide, but AD still shows the original height and width. This is weird, is it expected behaviour? Bonus question! After rotating the same rectangle to, say, 30 degrees, attempts to change the size via the handles will change the height or width relative to the new orientation. Moving the handles left or right in every other app I've ever used causes the object to expand or shrink relative to the page. AD changes the size relative to the object's orientation. For example, changing the height of the rectangle will change the height at the new 30-degree angle, not vertically against the page orientation. The newly resized rectangle still has perfectly square corners, where with other apps it would effectively be skewed. Now, I -like- this, but I can foresee instances where I'd want it to behave more traditionally. How can I do this?
  23. Forgive me if this has already been addressed. I did some looking, but couldn't find anything. In AD, is there a way to make tools such as align (object), text tool, and nudge respect the current rotation of the canvas with regard to creation and manipulation? I'm sure it's no easy task, and understand why the program would behave this way—respecting the object's coord/origin according to the artboard—but it just seems counterintuitive at times. Don't get me wrong, the ability to rotate the canvas is fantastic, especially when it comes to packaging work, but not being able to manipulate objects in an intuitive way when the canvas is rotated counteracts the benefit a little. Thanks! :)
  24. Hi all, I'm new to Affinity Photo, and I've searched the forum, and tried "help", and can't seem to be able to find a way to adjust the rotation of an image to straighten the horizon of that image. All of the rotation commands seem to have a predetermined amount of rotation, and I need to rotate freely. Any ideas? Thanks, John
  25. I'm sure this has been requested before, but a live canvas rotation tool is absolutely essential for serious illustration work. Thanks for making such a great product and not requiring a membership!
