  1. Having the Windows Ink replaced by the Win Tab caused the Resize to break when using a Pen Tablet. I have mine set using the Side Button and Click-drag for the shortcuts. It works in the Retail version. 1. Select the Brush Tool. 2. Press the side button on the Pen, a blue circle appears in the center and there's a constant flicker. 3. Unable to resize the pen by pressing it to the canvas and dragging. This was attempted with and without WIndows Ink enabled in the Wacom Tablet Properties. With Windows Ink enabled in the Wacom Properties, the Pressure sensitivity worked, albeit with the flickering. Disabled and and there's not pressure sensitivity and flicker goes away.
  2. I I have a problem with changing the dimensions of the photo while maintaining its resolution, does anyone have a solution for this? Example.pdf
  3. Hi, I'm new to affinity and been using Adobe for years. I want to record a macro that allows me to resize the size of a photo to 1000px and adjusting the height accordingly by keeping the same ratio. In photoshop it was straight forward, but I'm kind of stuck right now and my work requires me to do this resize fast.
  4. Hello. I'm attempting to upload art made in Affinity Designer to Teespring. I export as a PNG, Resample: Bilinear and don't resize the image larger when creating my listing. After creating the listing, the preview looks pixelated. Other shops don't have this pixelation problem on their product pages. I'm concerned about the quality of the shirt. Their design tips say to turn off anti-aliasing in Illustrator. Can I achieve a similar result in Designer to prevent pixilation of a printed product? I see an export option for nearest neighbor but I don't fully understand this or if it will allow my design to be printed with high quality. The artwork are vectors and they are only pixelated when uploaded to the shop. What would you suggest?
  5. Is there a way to make the paint brush less... juttery? When I hold down the bracket key shortcut to resize my brush, it does not resize smoothly. Here's a 10 second video of me resizing my brush. The first 2 seconds are at normal speed, and then the same clip slowed down to showcase the jutter. https://www.dropbox.com/s/7agz3uabfdwfwrd/Slow Brush.mp4?dl=0 Is there something I'm doing wrong, or is this just Affinity not working well? I am using a 2019 MacBook Pro, Affinity Photo version 1.8.3.
  6. How do I resize a single layer without disturbing the size of underlying layers or layers above the intended layer?
  7. Unsharp Mask filter is needed since resized image on Affinity is not crisp though Photo has Unsharp Mask to fix it. Unsharp Mask filter option on resize/export would be nice also.
  8. Some time ago I created a set of macros to resize an image to a fixed maximum size, as described here. Recently @DanThePhotoMan asked about resizing to a fixed minumum size here. I have revisited these macros and created two sets, one resizing to fixed maximum size and the others to a fixed minimum size. They are all based on the following sequence for the maximum set: Layer > Unlock Layer > Rasterize and TrimFilter > Distort > Equations Enter the following in the x and y fields, substituting your own maximum size, then Apply (x/MAXSIZE)*max(h,w) (y/MAXSIZE)*max(h,w)Document > Clip Canvas Layer > RasterizeSelect > Alpha Range > Select Partially Transparent Edit > Fill> Inpainting Select > Deselect Where MAXSIZE is from the following pixel sizes: 640, 800, 1000, 1280, 1600, 2000. The set to resize to minimum is similar except that it uses min(w,h) instead of max(w,h) in step 3 (Equations). There is also a pair of macros to resize to an arbitrary size (up to 4000px). This macro pauses to allow you to enter a parameter a. It is convenient to enter this parameter in the form of MAXSIZE/4000, where MAXSIZE is the maximum (or minimum) required size. For example, if you wanted to resize to 3000px, you would enter 3000/4000, which evaluates to 0.75. (You could enter 0.75 if you wanted.) Note that the resizing algorithm in the Equations process is not defined. Here are the macros as a library (.afmacros) file. Resize.afmacros John @Traveler @Gnobelix @affwin @firstdefence
  9. Hello I moved my workflow at home and now I strangle to find the option to keep the object's aspect ratio when I resize it from the corner. In the office it keep the aspect ration when I resize it but in home I can't figure out what other to do than press shift while resizing (no big deal sure but I love the freedom to work only with the mouse in some operations). Where is the option? Thanks!
  10. With a Macro in Affinity Photo I need to take a larger file and resize the short edge to 1000 pixels. Wherever the long edge ends up is fine. I tried making a Macro, but the long dimension is locked into the length created with the original image used to create the Macro. The crops will be different for all of the photos. Is there any way to do this with Affinity Photo? Photoshop has a Fit command that I used in the past. I'm trying to get away from Photoshop!
  11. How can I change a Master size and apply it to all pages without changing content layout/scale on all pages? Somehow all content will be scaled.
  12. I have an image here: https://d.pr/f/ajmR49 It has several layers that use perspective active layers. When I resize the document to width 825 (which is the size I need for the printer), the layers with perspective applied don't get properly resized and positioned. Open the file at https://d.pr/f/ajmR49 . Do Document | Resize Document… and enter 825 as the width (let the height auto-calculate). The floating windows get all screwed up. Backing up in the history prior to the resizing does not correctly restore the locations of the floating window layers. sr9-multiverse-astronomy-constellations-evening-1564312.afphoto
  13. I am experiencing this issue since the 1.8 update where the erase brush tool freezes my application every time I increase or decrease the brush radius. It sometimes will take several seconds before I regain control of the application again and in some instance I think the program has just hardlocked on me. I have always had my performance setting to GPU and I have a Nvidia RTX 2070 Super so I don't think its my hardware, I did not experience any freezing like this in 1.7 either. I've been working on a 4096x2048 document as well in-case that extra info is helpful.
  14. Good morning everyone. I need to do an extremely simple operation. I have many layers in my document and I want top resize each of them independently. How can I do that on Affinity iPad? On Photoshop for desktop I just press cmd-T and drag each layer. Thanks
  15. Hi, there seems to be no "one click" way to resize/scale a layer or vector object to the current canvas size. I would love to see this as an option when adding a layer/asset or as a button on the transform tool context bar, because I often have to manually resize assets or new layers when dragging/dropping objects to a document. Seems it would take just little effort to implement this and would incredibly reduce the amount of manual adjustments. What do you think? This feature was already suggested some times as in the threads listed below but it seems there is no easy way to achieve the desired result:
  16. Is there a way to have text which is on a path, scale like regular text when part of a group? I'll try to explain in detail here: I have a group of objects consisting of 2 text layers, 4 shape layers. One of the text layers is on a path forming an arch over my shape layers. The lower text is just normal text. These are all grouped together as one object. When I scale the group, all the layers, including the bottom text scale proportionately. However the upper text layer (on the path), this text does not scale at all.z Thanks.
  17. Hi guys, What have I done?! Suddenly I can't resize from the center when using the crop tool in Affinity Photo?... I hold down cmd+drag from the corner but it does not resize from the center as expected. I am pretty sure it used to do that. If I press cmd before grabbing the corner handle it uses the straighten tool... How do I get it to resize from the center?
  18. When I try to resize a picture frame, the content inside the frame is also getting stretched/distorted. Is this how it works on Affinity? Or it's a bug?
  19. I've noticed that when you resize an image in APhoto, the resized image has a 1-2 pixel 'halo' that's partially transparent. In Photoshop, contrariwise, resizing an image leaves the background layer without any such 'halo'. How can I get Affinity Photo to do a resize without that annoying 'halo' effect?
  20. Apologies for the title of the thread, I tried to be succinct. Double-clicking the bottom-centre adjustment handle of a text frame shrinks the frame to the size of the visible text by adjusting the height while keeping the top of the frame where it is. This is a documented function. Double-clicking the top-centre adjustment handle does similar but keeps the bottom of the frame where it is. As far as I can tell, this is an undocumented function. That’s fine, but, as part of a discussion here https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/100879-resize-text-frame-to-fit-copy-within/ I found that double-clicking the left-centre or right-centre adjustment handle of a text frame sometimes resizes the width of the frame. However, I couldn’t figure out what the resize criteria was. In other words, I don’t know how Publisher calculates the new frame width. See my GIF in the linked thread for an example of each. Does anyone know how the new frame width is calculated?
  21. Hi! The "Resize Pixel Art Document" feature is completely broken, at least for me. When using this feature, the final result is always a blank transparent file. I've attached a video demonstrating what happens when I use it. The image in the video has transparency, but the result is the same when using non-transparent images. I hope this can be fixed soon... Unless there is some preparation I need to perform on the image before using this feature that I am unaware of... The official Affinity Photo documentation doesn't mention anything in particular. 2019-10-24_09-57-53_T.mp4
  22. I'm working with some tables in AFPub. I set up a custom size document: 5.5" x 6.75", margins .01 on all sides, and I drew a table across the page. This page is set up in Landscape mode. I merged some cells and then set the horizontal and vertical sizes and alignment. At that point, the app crashes. AFPub Crash Log.txt
  24. For some strange reason I cannot move the images or resize them when in Affinity Designer. Is not the first time it happens. I tried to paste an image from Affinity Photo and them when I paste it in A-Designer it didn't appear, then I was trying to move the rest of the images and was impossible (you can see the image of the afro woman, I was truing to drag it and couldn't, the move tool was creating a selection rectangle like if the image didn't existed or was blocked which it wasn't but the weirdest thing is that you could see the limits of the picture. This only happens with bitmap layers since with vectors is all normal.
  25. I don't know if there is a theory behind this action or not. I will be making file sizes and dimension up for this example and this process works for me when going to print photos. I hope it's easy to follow. 1. Let's say I have an image that is 5x8 at 1200 ppi and is 5MB in size. In photoshop the resize window shows width, height, ppi, and size in MB. I can alter the dimensions or ppi and photoshop will interactively recalibrate the overall size of the file. 2. If I want to use the photo at a larger size I will alter the H x W as large as I can and still retain the file size at 5MB. I try to resize photos at 300 ppi for archival purposes but I know that I can resize the photo up to a minimum of 188 ppi for printing. So for this example, say I rescale at 8 x10 @ 200ppi (again I'm making these numbers up). It always creates a photo that's printable without pixelization. As long as I retain the overall size of the file at 5MB it has worked for me. 3. The interactive adjustment of the dimensions and file size would be a great feature. Also AP's resize window does not show which value is the width and which is the height . . . Thanks.
