  1. In Affinity Designer, Adding a text object to a newly created document creates the text render on the left side. Add a background (white or off-white, doesn't matter), and you get the text render on the right side. Not sure if this is a bug or if it can be changed with a setting. text-bug.afdesign
  2. (Copied from the Bugs forum as I'm not sure if you're operating from there yet!) Hi, This is my first time posting a bug, so bare with me! Just purchased my Windows license. Well done guys on working so hard! Everyone's behind you :) Doing a very quick test, I notice that the image rendering pixelates temporarily while the brush is being applied to the canvas. The pixelated view also tends to happen while most editing is being applied. Even moving the cursor near an applied brush stroke causes the painting to pixelate temporarily like this. Is there something that can mitigate this? While the pixelated view is relatively minor for most tasks, it would be a real hindrance when working on a digital painting or editing photos in fine detail (i.e. a dodge & burn touch-up,etc)... If you need more info, please ask, thanks! John _______________________________ Tested on a Dell xps 17 Core i7 Q740 Graphics Nvidia GT GeForce 445M 12gb ram Affinity Photo 1.5.0.45
  3. How does AD render fonts, does it support hinting? I have problems with small type, as it seems to be unnecessarily blurry in most cases (8 points and smaller with pixel view). It looks like type hinting is not used and font control points are not adjusted to better fit the underlaying pixel grid. Currently I do improvements by hand by moving type in subpixel increments to get clearer letters - which of course is a tradeoff as some letters get clearer and some get mushier. It would be better if AD did tiny type improvements per letter.
  4. Hi, My take on a classic. Made the shots dramatic to enhance the feeling of old and prestige. Rendering time was quite short about 5 min each. POST in Affinity Photo Beta. ;) For more pics check my behance + a modeling timelapse. https://www.behance.net/gallery/24002497/Classical-Violin? Cheers, Vlad
