  1. I want to know how Affinity Designer decides what the stroke weight of strokes for shape tools should be when applying a textured intensity brush as the stroke with the Brushes panel/studio. In the default set of textured intensity brushes in the Brushes panel/studio, "Classic Pencil HB" from the "Pencils" category (the one that appears at the top of the list for me) has a default brush width of 128. If I select the Vector Brush Tool and then the Classic Pencil HB in the Brushes panel, the "Width:" value in the Context Toolbar says "128 px". However, when I actually draw a curve with the Vector Brush Tool and select the curve with the Move Tool or the Node Tool, the stroke width for that curve says "64 pt"—exactly half. Why isn't it 128 px, like Classic Pencil HB says in the Brushes panel? Likewise, when I create a shape using one of the shape tools, like the Rectangle Tool, and then apply Classic Pencil HB as the stroke, it's also 64 pt. Is this somehow related to the DPI value in the "Document Setup…" dialog box? If so, what is the relationship—how do the mechanics of this work? There appears to be some relationship between pt, px, and DPI that I don't understand.
  2. OK. I give up. How to create a rectangle shape on a layer; actually, 3 different layers with a different colored rectangle on each layer. I've tried to add pixel layer then choose the Rectangle Tool. (1) 1st problem is that the rectangle doesn't want to stop blinking even after I press Enter. (2) Then if I manage to get 2 layers each with a different colored rectangle, Affinity won't let me add a 3rd layer directly above the 2nd It creates 3rd layer but inserts blank Pixel Layer between 2nd & 3rd. Wanted my Affinity screen to look like the one in my attachment so could follow along. Rectangle Layers.docx
  3. Hey guys, I'm not sure if Affintiy Designer can do this but there are 2 really simple features in Illustrator that I'm hoping I can do in Affinity Designer. 1. Rectangle tool - In illustrator you can just select the rectangle tool and click anywhere on an art board and it will give you a window prompt to create the rectangle or circle you need. Is this possible in Affinity Designer?? (see attached) 2. Move Feature - In Illustrator there is the move option (MAC -Shift +command+M) which gives you control on moving an object on your art board. Is this feature available in some capacity in Affinity Designer? (see attachment) Thanks in advance
  4. I've been able to change the shortcut for the Rectangle, Ellipse, and Rounded-Rectangle Tools, but I don't see a listing for the Tool that includes the rest of the shapes (triangle, arrow, etc.). I noticed that, when hovering over that tool before I changed things, the "Shapes" Tool displayed the M shortcut--same as the Rectangle Tool. After changing the Rectangle to R, no shortcut is listed on the Shapes Tool, so it must have been "removed" somewhere. Does anyone know how to access the shortcut entry field for it? I couldn't find anything related under the Draw/Tools list in the Keyboard Shortcuts section of Preferences.
