  1. I am very new to Affinity and have a query about closing it. My main computer is an Apple M1 iMac running Mac OS Monterey. Affinity Photo launches correctly from the icon in the dock and operates as it should but if I then ‘close’ Affinity using the red button I cannot re-launch it unless I ‘quit’ it fully first. I also have another iMac running Mac OS Catalina and it behaves in the same way. Is this the way Affinity is intended to operate?
  2. Hello friends, I have been using Affinity photo and designer for about a year now and I love them. Tonight I was able to export a PDF from Affinity Photo. When I went to do it a second time, the program quit. I tried several more times, with same result. I tried opening the same file in Designer and had the same occurrence. I am using a new MacBook Pro. Is anyone else experiencing a problem like this? After restarting the computer, the same thing is happening... Any suggestions or help would be appreciated. Thank you! Terri
  3. AP does not quit gracefully anymore. Every time I try to exit the application I get a dialog that says: Quitting At least one file is currently being opened. Please wait for the files to load before quitting the application. However NO files are being loaded. There must be something messed up and I bet it's easy to fix. Any body know how to fix?
  4. Double-clicking an AFDESIGN document in Windows Explorer runs Publisher - see related issue here: https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/69657-affinity-logo-change/ When asked what to do with the document - Cancel, Continue or Copy - I opt to open a copy. The document opens and I opt to convert artboards into spreads, all seems fine. When I then try to close Publisher - without making any other changes - I get a dialog box as shown in the attached image. After waiting a few minutes I still get the same message when trying to close Publisher. Closing the document itself works fine but then when trying to close Publisher I still get the same message. The only way to quit Publisher after opening a copy of the document is by using the Task Manager.
  5. Had an issue with 128 in 'separated mode' – where each document is in it's own window. Closing one of the three open documents caused Publisher to close down all the other open documents and itself (crash). Have just downloaded 133. Appears the problem remains. Opened three windows/documents, resized one, changed a text box in the second then went to close that second document. Was prompted to save the change first. Did that. Change was saved. Then went to close the document. It closed then Publisher crashed. Not sure if it was the second attempt to close or just a delayed reaction to the earlier/ongoing document close instruction. Also when in 'separated mode' – one document per window – dragging one Publisher document window on top of another also causes Publisher to crash. In recovery mode documents can open with random squares of black showing on the screen. Scrolling or zooming to refresh the screen removes the black squares. Screen grab below.
  6. Hi. We bought and installed Affinity Designer from the Mac App Store. Whenever we try to Export a file from Affinity Designer (1.5.5), the program immediately crashes with the "Affinity Designer Quit Unexpectedly" message. We are using OS Sierra 10.12.5 (the most recent). We look at this post, but the dropbox file is not available anymore. We really need to be able to export. regards Julie LSA
  7. By mistake I clicked on the system icon (in the upper left corner of the frame of the main window) when I meant to click File. So I clicked File next, but AD just quit. It did not post any message, so it probably did not crash, just quit for some strange reason. Puzzled, I then restarted, created a new file, added something to it, and clicked on that system icon twice, just to see what happens. AD asked me if I wanted to save the file, and when I said no, it quit. I loaded AD again, and this time went straight for the system icon. I clicked on it twice, making sure during the second click I was not mistakenly clicking on the menu choice to close the application, but still on the icon. It quit. This is not standard Windows application behavior. Looks like a bug to me. Adam
  8. When I tried to close the program a few minutes ago, I got this dialog: Manually closing each open document didn't help. I had to resort to using the Windows Task Manager.
  9. I opened a PNG file to work up a logo. I added some text, a new background, knocked out some white areas. I was just about done and thought, oh, I should save this. When I tried to save it, it said that it contained non-pixel areas and did I want to save it as a new document, which is what I chose. The file, as near as I can tell, was not saved. Now, I have access to only a few menu items and every item I click on in the interface beeps back at me. Saving is no long an option and even quitting isn't allowed. I'd rather not throw out 30 minutes of work, but I can't figure out what mode I'm in that wouldn't let me get of it and save. Any thoughts or will I need to force quit the application and start over from scratch in Pixelmator?
