  1. I thought I had pre-ordered Windows Publisher but the Mac version showed up in my account today. What can I do?
  2. I'd like to find a way to remove the default paragraph styles - particularly unused styles - in Affinity Publisher. Is this possible? I prefer to create my own. Thanks in advance.
  3. I have been able to do the following steps: Create a table. Place an image (which places it on the page, not in the table). Cut the image (Cmd-X). Click into a table cell to place the text cursor. Paste the image (Cmd-V). After these steps the image appears to be embedded in the table cell and adheres to horizontal and vertical positioning applied to that table cell. That's good to see, but how can I place the image directly into a table cell? The above workflow is cumbersome when doing a lot of these.
  4. I do have a question. How can we link our existing Affinity Photo and Designer software from the App store with StudioLink? It currently says that both are not installed on my Macbook Pro, but they are.
  5. I have purchased & updated my Affinity Photo application (this is all on my windows laptop), & yet still Affinity Publisher can't seem to connect to it. Any thoughts or suggestions as the problem & solution?
  6. In Affinity Publisher, is there a way to set page color? Either on a master page or a regular page? Or should I draw a rectangle and set the color? Thanks!
  7. Hi there, I know own all three products and they are sweeeet.. One thing I took as a given though, which has stopped me in my tracks is the inability to package a document. Quite often, we designing brochures/ads etc one 'borrows' assets from other documents, creates things on desktop, places images form an external drive etc etc - so when the job is finished, I would always collect or package the final artwork and archive it - so that in the future I can be confident that all the assets for that project are all in one place. This is crucial to keeping files/fonts etc organised, and manageable - especially when working with other people who may not have access to all the same drives/fonts etc. Will this be coming in an update soon? It's kind of the last crucial piece to a lot of designers' workflow Thanks in advance! Andy
  8. I am upset as I have been looking forward to this launch for the inside track to get started. I missed the launch as I was on the phone for 2 hrs.on a support call. Can it be replayed on Youtube please or a link from Affinity.
  9. I have just tried to create a document identical to one I use in PagePlus. In some ways it was easier, and in others not so - but I think that is largely down to the fact that I have used PP since V1 and I am used to that. Transferring a pdf file was a nightmare. In the end I created text files in the publisher page identical to those in PP and then copied and pasted the contents over. A much easier task. BUT I have some fonts where there is no italic ttf file available, and PP used to create the italic on the fly. It seems Publisher cannot / won't do that. Searching the Web cannot find an italic version. Is there any way I can create the italic font into Publisher Any ideas would be welcome CRG
  10. I'm getting this pop up in Publisher saying Designer and Photo aren't installed for the link up. They are both installed and both are the 1.7 versions, not betas. What's the workaround for this?
  11. I just have 2 questions: 1. Other than activating the personas, are there any new features released compared to the latest beta 1.7.1.399? In my account → Downloads & Products Keys, I have 4 Affinity publisher Beta purchases, they're so annoying and useless right now, are there any plan to remove them automatically?
  12. I'm working on a large publishing file with 150 pages and a lot of graphics. It was going well but it seems that since recent program updates the file is crashing every few minutes. Not sure if it's got anything to do with the updates or some other reason. I'm using a Mac computer.
  13. Hey Everyone, I've been playing with the beta and love it and am trying to create a promo piece/booklet. Unfortunately I can't get the double sided printing preview or execution to work properly without jumbling everything around or not including a full preview. Has anyone had success with this ?   14. Hi, I've already mentioned this long ago, but it's still bugged. I've got 3 paragraphs and 3 text styles, each one 's got a "next style" set (x > y > z). When I select few paragraphs and use the option "Apply style_x and next styles", the first paragraph should be applied style_x, the second one style_y and the third style_z. Visually, it's ok (1st paragraph looks like style_x, 2nd one looks like style_y and 3rd one looks like style_z). But in fact, the when I select each one of the 3 paragraphs, the Text style panel only shows style_x applied. It's more than a visual error, since APub thinks only the 1st style is applied.
  15. It would be useful if you could adjust row height and column width in tables by entering a value rather than clicking and dragging

Not sure if this is mentioned before by someone (couldn't find one on the forum): Using Publisher 1.7.0.376 beta and dragging the Pages-tab is veeeery slow and seems to take a looooot of power for some reason. So there is a huge delay in mouse-movement and the actual sizing of the width of the panel. Unfortunately the screen-recording isn't very hi-framerate, which normally is the case when recording with OBS here. So it looks like Publisher is really taking some performance away from the rest of the running software (like OBS here) just to scale this panel? veeeeery slow movement (even seems to hold the screenrecording from recording fluently): move-panel-delays.mp4

During configuration of shortcuts to use a Wacom dial to rotate canvas I found this issue: * In the settings shortcuts panel both left and right Alt-keys on the keyboard are displayed as 'Alt', so there is no way to see the difference between the two * But the actual keyboard shortcut is in reality indeed bound to the left OR the right Alt key. Looking in the interface it looks like both 'Rotate Left' and 'Rotate Right' are bound to the same shortcut (Alt+2), but in fact the first one is bound to AltLeft-2 and the second to AltRight+2. Affinity Photo knows this, because it doesn't show warning symbols to indicate a keyboard shortcut is already in use (it shows the regular clear-buttons): This is confusing and error-prone. It would be better if the interface shows AltRight and AltLeft instead for the alt-keys OR the software should treat both ALT-keys as the same (which I personally prefer and would expect). (I posted this in the Photo AND Designer bug forums too, because it's happening in all three programs. It's probably the same codebase, but just to be shure posted this in all three bug-forums)
  18. Non Breaking Space funcition works incorrect. The letter "s" should be attached (with space) to the next line word... Not divided by dash.
  19. The two buttons for Photo and Designer are there and I was wondering if on release of Publisher if they work. I have been curious about the integration. I know it's only days away and I'll know then, but my curiosity is getting the best of me!
  20. A Publisher document that I have been working on for some time now has suddenly decided to crash (close actually) for no apparent reason whilst simply scrolling through the document. This does not happened with any other publication I have created. This morning as I began this report, a new Beta version became available (1.7.0.384) which I uploaded and installed. I opened this document with the new version and just scrolled down the pages, nothing more, and sure enough it crashed also. I have previously opened this publication by itself (nothing else running on my PC) to see if other programs may have been affecting it, but it still crashed. It has done this numerous times. On re-starting the application if there were unsaved edits, the document recovery message appears allowing me to save again to lock in those edits. However the application crashed when I scrolled down a couple of pages. The only thing different about this publication to others that I have created is that this one uses blank picture frames as place-holders for images I have yet to acquire. I'm not sure that this has anything to do with the problem, its just an observation. Other documents continue to work just fine. I am using an Acer Aspire 5471 laptop running Windows 7 version 6.01 (Build 701 Service Pack 1). I have enclosed a copy of the document for review. WASS History Booklet.afpub
  21. Hi there, I tried using Publisher to search for whole sentences in a long document (168 pages). Is that even possible? Seems to me it dosen't work (Beta 337) Best regards, Puck
  22. Just trying to figure out what is it exactly used for! I know about designer and photo but I never used indesign from adobe so I don’t know what affinity publisher is about and what exactly you can do with it. My guess it is like dream weaver where you build websites with. Any information clearly breaking down this program is much appreciated.
  23. ...since I jump between Windows and Mac all day, and have purchased Designer and Photo for both. I also tested Publisher on both OSes, as well. I might actually need to request a refund for Publisher and wait for a holiday sale since I need the 30% discount in order to afford it for both OSes.
  24. Hi there! When changing fonts without using styles I often encounter problems: The context menu doesn't update once I continue editing. Please have a look at the video. The problem is not limited to Arial - and it occurs with new and old documents. Additionally the drop-down-menu for the font seems to be hidden by the master/pages panel one in a while.
