  1. I organise most of my documents into projects in Designer. When I save documents they go into the default save location, whether they are in a project or not they all go into the same folder. I should like to request that when a document is saved: If it is not part of a project then it defaults to the default save location If is part of a project and a folder with the same name as the project exists then it is saved to that folder If it is part of a project and there is no folder with the same name as the project then Designer creates the folder and saves the file to it I should also like to request that a save option be added at the Project Level that will save any documents newer than the existing saved version. This would be helpful where different projects may have documents with the same name, it will also lead to tidier folders and easier archiving of old projects. Thanks Stephen
  2. I created a project (have not learned what one is yet) and simply want to delete it. The widget thing (three lines) at bottom right only gives an option to rename. Any ideas anyone?
  3. This will be my first post! - I'm a new user, a hobbyist with a newfound passion for graphic design thanks to your applications. I've been working with Affinity now for about 4 months. I'm in love with this program. It's gotten to the point where I've begun to plan porting projects from other programs into your platform. That being said, I'd like to talk a little about the main screen. I would like to suggest an option for a folder view. I like to keep things tightly organized. My Affinity iCloud folder is very tightly organized, but it doesn't show up in my iPad app. I've set my default save location as my iCloud account. I've noticed that, when I create a file, play around a bit, and delete it, it will remain in my iCloud affinity folder. So, after playing around a bit, I often find a bunch of my "junk" files laying around un organized and untitled. I'd been learning the basics of graphic design with Graphic app, and while it is not as powerful as Affinity, it had a really nice home screen, and the file management was spot on. I took a screen shot of it, and wanted to put it here. When I see this screenshot, I get excited imagining what it would be like if my Affinity app's main screen looked and behaved similiarly. Is there any hope for this kind of option? I mean, I know some people like the masonry/wall scrolling feel, but personally. I'd love to be able to turn on an option, and keep things in folders etc. That's it ladies and gents. Just some folder action. Really into this app! Thank you so much for everything you've done. I have spent hours and hours lying in bed or on park benches drawing, and tweaking, and sketching, and building, and I plan on spending many more hours doing just the same. CHEERS!
  4. Impressive at first look for a first beta. I come from QuarkXPress and I find AP intuitive. • Projects – What if you have several related files (stationery, brochure, etc.) and you want to them to share resources and formatting. If you add another item to the project, such as a booklet, could you pick up the resources and formatting? • Long documents – Sections, etc. How to handle long documents. • Issues – Publications with several locations, etc. Maybe ads change from region to region. • External copy editing while layout is being worked on. Could a text editor be used to edit placed text and have it update on the page geometry? • Versioning – is that Save History? Can you revert to a previous version. • Step and Repeat – Such as 4 across and 8 down, duplicate. • Repurposing – eBooks, web, etc. I am writing a book using Scrivener. I want to do my own layout, since I have a graphics and printing background and have been hoping AP will be ready by the time I am ready to layout my book. Scrivener recently included an option to output to software called Vellum.
  5. Hello everyone, From today i believe i have to start sharing few of our design works (actually i'm working alone but i do build a team from time to time depending on project size ) Most of our client/requesters are Church based and we really enjoy doing stuffs for them but what you will se here is more about Smarty Studio standing with other studio/teams together into what is to become Congolese Design Style. Well each country have it's own style of design but Congo doesn't have a proper thus most of Congolese designers simply clone/copy styles from everywhere. This is a beginning, please your inputs on each design palet/kit will be of great help and will help us improving better. Blessings !
