  1. When is a API/SDK for Affinity Designer happening so I can automate scripts to draw? Adobe Illustrator has one to create macros. Why doesn't Affinity have for the vector graphics drawing programming for macros? https://www.adobe.com/content/dam/acom/en/devnet/illustrator/pdf/sdk/programmers-guide-2017.pdf
  2. I'm currently studying Python and wanted to try all of the escape sequences, however my code appears to have a fault. Could you please assist me in locating it? My Code: string = """backslash - \\\nsingle quote - \'\ndouble quote - \" ASCII bell - \a Lorem ASCII backspace - \b Lorem ACII formfeed - \f Lorem Unicode - \N{prabhu} Ipsum Carriage return - \r Ipsum 16 bit Hex value - \u1234 32 bit Hex value - \U12345678 ASCII Vertical tab - \v Octal value character - \123 Hex value - \x12 """ print(string) Output: Error: SyntaxError: (unicode error) 'unicodeescape' codec can't decode bytes in position 137-146: unknown unicode character name
  3. Hello guys. I left this feature request in the image-line forums, for the music production software FL Studio, so, I would love to have the following feature in Affinity as well. It's the ability to program commands or extensions like programs like Microsoft Office, Adobe Flash/Animate, Microsoft VS Code, etc. It would be really useful to be able to create commands to automatize tasks, in either Python, C# or Javascript language. (I'd said mostly C#, but Python would be good because of its simple syntax). This will benefit greatly the Affinity/Serif developers, because they would only need to focus on fixing bugs mostly, and us community programmers could contribute by creating these commands and extensions so, the amount of features request should decrease. For example, one crucial extension would be we type a text in a input textfield/dialog, and it splits that text by the spaces and create {n} amount of textfields with the split words. Also, search layers by layer description/name/title or by another search query like hidden, locked, blend mode, or layer containing {x} FX, or search all layers of type textfield, or search all pixel layers, etc. There are so many tools we need to automatize task that us programmers could easily implement. Can someone from Affinity confirm if there is any plan of including this feature, or at least, if they would at least consider implementing it in like version 2.x? Thank you!
  4. Hello: I did read that y'all don't have in mind make a animation software, but I really would like that y'all make one, there a lot of peoples that would like that Affinity make a animation software. I'm willing to pay for it. I would like that in the future y'all expand the software area to something like following: - Animation Software. - Video Editor Software. - 3D software. - IDE for web programming or even desktop application (Using affinity designer for the GUI and pass the design to the IDE and continue working with it). I would like please put some of those in your plans, y'all can open a donation web site and get founds for make this projects. Let us know.
  5. A good addition would be scriptability or programmability. This has come in handy in other graphic applications where automation has been a key function.
