Hey, everyone. When adding an adjustment layer the presets expand underneath it. I almost always begin from 'scratch' on my adjustments, so don't often use presets. But more significantly I find that the auto-expanding presets just get in the way of my UI by making the adjustments panel list much longer and shifting everything down significantly, requiring more scroll-and-search because things are moving around. Is there a way to toggle the adjustment panel's expanding presets action off, as I really don't want or need them showing up every time I add a new adjustment layer. Also, if I want to add a second layer of the same adjustment type, say, 'Brightness / Contrast', (not a copy of it, but a second and different adjustment) I can't just click again to add one, or even double-click. If I even just click once, it resets the adjustment I just carefully tweaked, erasing my changes. I have to deselect the 'Brightness / Contrast' layer I just added, then click once on the adjustment which closes the expanded presets, then click to add a second Levels layer. Surely I'm must be missing something? Any help would be appreciated.

Hi, I am looking for free presets to use with AP. Is there a place/site to get that? Have been working with presets for years now in LR and have a lot of them but since I jumped from LR to AP I am out of presets and can’t use my more than hundred presets. Or is there maybe a way to transform LR presets to Affinity Photo. I am not using LUTs much because its not as powerful as presets. (Basically, a LUT targets a narrower set of image parameters to change (color and tone). A preset, on the other hand, can adjust a much wider range of image parameters, things like exposure, sharpening and vignetting. … ) Thanks. WITH LIGHTROOM PRESET ORIGINAL PIC.

Please make presets for gradient tool like foreground to transparent , two color and so on...like in the industry standard photoediting program(don't think i have to mention the name). Gradient tool in affinity is good but with these presets it saves so much time for compositing artists. Hope affinity will listen to this..

When I start up AD, I get a blank field, as in older versions, which I like and which is what I want. BUT, once AD is open and I start a new file, I get the preset window pop-up, which I find very annoying. Is there a way of stopping this window from popping up please? Thanks. There are SS below showing what I want and what I do not want.

So Affinity Photo has a "Add Preset" button on their "Adjustments". For example this is the "Black & White adjustment": I think it would be awesome and helpful if there was a drop down menu next to the "Add preset" with already saved presets. So it would look something like this:

How come .cube isn’t supported? I created the LUT directly from affinity. It’s an affinity file even. But I can’t reopen it with affinity? Also I’ve tried to use “preset” and it doesn’t make any difference to any other photo and/or doesn’t even save when I try to save it. It won’t let me download raw. It also says they aren’t supported and I get the same message so it was created with a jpeg.

I have an IDML file of some print work and I want to use on some social accounts. Is there a way to select the print pages and convert over it over to the social format? I went to spread options and can see were you select presets but the social presets like Instagram don't appear to be there. -
How about a LUT/Preset Persona/Browser along the lines of Nik Silver Efex, Topaz Studio, Luminar and others? Having to load LUTs on a one by one basis is much too slow and cumbersome. It would be great to be able browse, preview and adjust on one screen

I have just realized that I should have an option to choose between several preinstalled presets when cropping ( - https://affinity.serif.com/en-us/tutorials/photo/desktop/video/366751817/ - 42 seconds in). However, on my end, when I select the cog icon after choosing the crop tool, I don't see any preinstalled presets and can only import new ones (*.aftoolpresets files). Would love some help in how I 'd go about enabling the AP crop presets as I haven't been able to locate any existing *.aftoolpres. -
What is the best way you have found to change .lrtemplate to a .cube file so I can transfer light room presets to affinities LUTS. I know they wont be the exact same however I am hoping to purchase some lightroom presets that my mentor uses, but use them in Affinity. Thanks in advance. -
There are limits in File > New > My Presets, a feature I would love to see improved. If there is already a preset named "Custom" (from some previous session) and you click the "+" button at the top right of the dialog — let's say you want to make something entirely different — you get only an error message about a previously existing preset with the same name. You must rename the existing "Custom" preset, then click "+" again—after which "Custom" is again your only option at the start. Then you have to rename it yet again. Alternatives: Press "+". The error dialog appears and gives you these options: 1. Replace the existing preset. 2. Update/edit the existing preset. Better (IMO): Press "+". Dialog appears in which you enter the name of your desired new preset. If such a name exists now (ignore case, please): Queries: Replace existing? Edit existing? And: Select an existing preset from the graphical list in the main part of the dialog box. Right-click the preset. A context menu appears that includes: Rename preset... Delete preset NEW FUNCTIONALITY: Edit preset Generally the inability to edit an existing preset without having to create an entirely new one is somewhat frustrating and I hope you can consider changing this. -
Where are my export configuration presets? I have "Saved" some export configuration presets that I have created to export an image in different sizes, but when I want to use these settings that I have saved, I don't know where they are to choose from to apply to other images. If I know they are saved because when I create a new export configuration preset and give it the same name of the adjustment that I had previously created and saved, I get a dialog box with a message telling me that there is already a setting with that name and if I want to replace it with the new setting. What will be the error? Where do I select the export configuration presets that I have created in Export Persona? Please tell me what am I doing wrong? I hope it is not an Affinity Photo bug. I'll look forward for your answer Thank you

I am a brand new user with Affinity. Over the last week I have been watching many of the "Affinity Photo for Beginners" videos on youtube and am very impressed with what Affinity is capable of. As someone who has recently switched from Adobe to Affinity, the one difficulty I am finding is that I am not able to save master presets. Yes, I realize that Affinity allows you to create individual presets for things like white balance, curves, exposure and so forth. However, it doesn't allow you to create fully grouped presets like Lightroom does, and that's going to be very frustrating for me as I am a professional photographer who really utilizes that preset option. I hope that this feature is added soon!

I'm using Photo 1.6.4.104. I'm trying to add some additional cropping tool presets. I don't find the instructions in the help document useful.. It says Adjust the context toolbar settings. What does that a mean? It won't take decimal fractions in the boxes specifying dimensions which only take pixels. For instance, if I try to specify 3.33:1 it won't do it. It just changes it to 3 and 1. If I try to then select Add Preset mode it reverts to one of the presets already there. I can't make the instructions work. I would appreciate being directed to a better text or video tutorial or given a more detailed procedure. -
I generated 5 color swatch from an Instagram image, I matched them with a personal photo, and saved it as a preset, but I can’t find it under LUT or Presets. Where else can I find it? It’s also not on Files -
howdy :) is there a way to save export settings in affinity photo — make user defined presets? for example, different size .jpegs, resample & quality settings for future use & applications? i dont see an option for this in the export window nor a way to edit/save the default presets thank you! :) -

I want a feature where you can create your own presets for unconstrained crops. This is currently greyed out in unconstrained cropping mode. This problem has been talked about in this thread, and also this thread as well. I am resizing thousands of photos, and I have to type in the size I want every single time to get a fixed size. The crop sizes are staying the same for every photo I do, but the placement varies from photo to photo, otherwise I would just do a batch job. I'm starting to feel some repetitive stress injury from typing all the numbers. Thanks for your time.

Hey guys, why doesn't anyone talk about the lost adjustment presets after the update? I can't be the only one missing all his presets, can I? Since the update about two weeks ago I have had massive problems recovering any of my adjustment presets. (Screenshot of the palette is attached in case you're wondering what the hell I'm talking about. Yes, I opened a photo and clicked on the labels – they're empty.) Under the section LUT alone there were 35 presets that I personally saved and collected over months and years! I already had similar experiences with older beta versions of the apps, where certain folders could be copied so that all user-defined settings are available again. But it doesn't seem to work this time. To be honest, this situation makes me more and more disgruntled. I wonder why this palette, which was included in the programs from the beginning, has no export function yet. Damn, even the crop tool has a function for exporting defined ratios. Even later implemented functions like macros or assets can be exported! Why not curve or white-balance presets?! Now excuse my little psych-out. Fortunately I have a Time Machine Backup, but even if I recover the data from it, I can only work with the penultimate officially released version – but that's obviously not a solution, who wants to work with an outdated version if there's a shiny new release with better features? This btw. isn't just related to Photo, but also Designer. And it's not only on Mac, but also on Windows – I checked. So if anyone has a solution to this problem, please - please- share it with the community! Or just let me know if anyone else has this problem. Cheers MrDoodlezz

Hey there, I'm trying to create custom presets for certain size documents/images I need to make again and again to save setup time. This is what's happening: 1) Create New document, panel opens, choose Presets and choose Create preset. 2) Name preset 3) Change size and settings how I want them 4) Click Ok to save it (when I do this the document panel flashes once and for a second I notice the preset name changes back to "Custom" and then the panel goes away) 5) Once the blank document appears I click "Document Setup" to check that the settings are correct it shows "Print" as the type and "Custom" as the page preset. When I change this to "Presets" as the type and choose my named preset as the page preset, as it should show, it changes the document settings back to what they were when the New Document panel opened. It seems like as soon as you name the custom preset it saves whatever settings are already populated in the panel from the last document that was opened. I figured out that I need to change my settings first then make a custom preset and name it for the settings to stick. The way you have the panel laid out it makes sense to work from top to bottom and clicking ok to would save all these changes. Is this a bug? The second thing is why doesn't the document setup show the Named preset that I created? It always defaults to "Print" as the type and "Custom" as the preset. Please let me know if I'm missing something or if this is a bug!

I was wondering if there's a way to save gradient presets? If it's not available, I was wondering if that's part of the roadmap? -
I'm new to Designer but I'm looking to make the switch from Ai. I specialise in making complex isometric illustration and I've heard word of the addition of "Isometric Studio" to the latest Designer beta but I've not been able to find out what this is. Is there any word what this may include?

I find that everytime I need to design a header, I find myself scrounging for the latest, least confusing article with facebook's updated size specs and personal tricks to get Facebook's resizing to look halfway decent. In all lilkelyhood, something similar happens to others, with FB or other digital platforms. It would be useful for Facebook, Instagram, and any other commonly designed-for platforms and applications, to be available as presets. Besides standard sizing, export presets, such as JPG for instagram, or 2x size for facebook on retina displays, would also save time and make life easier. I like how Affinity has presets for different devices. This would be an extension to that, with Web Apps / Social Media / or some other category encompasing this group, as I'm only mentioning a couple platforms that come to mind at this moment. Much like we design for physical devices, we're also increasingly designing for digital environments and some are common enough that they might warrant a quick access within Affinity, in my experience and opinion.
