  1. Just a random royal black woman with a confident look
  2. Hello everyone! I would like to show you some portraits I did some time ago in Affinity Designer. It was fun! Let me know what do you think. You can see full project on my Behance: https://www.behance.net/gallery/49551783/Random-portraits-01-09
  3. Just for fun I wanted to see how well AP can mask hair, I must say I'm very impressed with the results. Although not perfect, it's the best result I have had after many tries with other software. Kudos Affinity!
  4. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MEjBGk55Rp8 A painting/illustration made entirely in Affinity Designer and a Wacom drawing tablet. I wanted to complete a digital image without first drawing a sketch and scanning it into the PC.
  5. Since the beginning of 2015, I have been working exclusively with Serif's program series. Here's an example of a vector work with Affinity Designer. I am looking forward to Serif's planned Publisher, who would make the package complete :-) http://b-bertuleit.de/vektor-arbeit-affinity-designer/
  6. It's been a long, long time since I posted anything. I saw a program on the two eccentric artists on the box, so armed with two photographs that I've take on my Fuji bridge camera, I decided to give it a bash... The girl in question was my ex-stepdaughter; who strangely didn't like this shot of her by the beach. All comments welcome... SaveSave a little bit of G&G.afdesign
  7. I'm just overwhelmed by all the possibilities designer offers and had a really fun time working on this one..
  8. A vector portrait, created with Affinity Designer. http://b-bertuleit.de/vektor-grafik-portrait/ Best wishes for Xmas and a Happy New Year!
  9. I wanted to do a little project to start to get the hang of Affinity Photo. So my long suffering wife of 30 years 'Deb' agreed to be the guinea pig for my first effort at making someone younger. So this is a woman of 50+ made to look 40+. I think it came out pretty good for a first attempt. The aim was to try to just take a few years off rather than do a beauty touch up. I took the photo with my trusty little a6000 with the 16-50 kit lens. Features of Affinity Photo used were.. Frequency separation. In-Painting brush. Patch tool. Blur brush. Smudge brush. I'm really impressed with how Affinity Photo performed. I had no real problems apart from my lack of knowledge. And the fact that I had never done anything like this before. Cheers -Scott.
  10. Here's a vector portrait (of my good friend Helene). No pixels, pure vector, created with Affinity Designer. I'm looking forward to a feedback, thank you very much :) http://b-bertuleit.de/helene-2/
  11. I've been using AP in conjunction with C1 (Capture One) since AP was in (original) beta. I use C1 for RAW conversion and initial color grading. I just like the way RAW looks in C1 compared to other converters. The other big reason is the color balance tool for color grading. There just isn't a visual tool like this in other editors. I then bring the image in to AP for skin retouching (and lint lol) and final touches including sharpening, grain, a color overlay and vignette. I love the fact that the current beta has a true color picker tool for frequency separation work where you can select a 3x3 or 5x5, instead of 1x1. Anyhow, here is my latest edit showing after C1 conversion and the final image. Before anyone critiques the pose, I'm aware of the folds under the arm and bra. Not posting for that purpose, just showing edits.
  12. Here comes Cate (the cat), vector (Affinity Designer) :) http://b-bertuleit.de/cate-the-cat/

  16. Hi, I downloaded Affinity Designer about a week ago from a recommendation of a friend. I am new to this whole computer design and illustration and trying to teach myself techniques and skills. I have completed a couple of different projects I set for myself but here is my first ever attempt at a persons face (Snoop Dogg as requested by my brother). Any comments would be much appreciated :)
  17. David Bowie as vector graphics, my first vector portrait (with aDesigner 2015).
  18. To be honest, I've never tried Affinity Photo for digital painting. I usually work in PS or Manga Studio. But today I was testing some brush settings of Photo and came up with this quick portrait. I've always tried to emulate the traditional mediums when painting digital, so I tend to work my digital paintings with that natural a la prima feel... working in one layer and mixing pencils and 'gouache'. Here's the result: I think I'll use Photo for more digital painting. It runs pretty smooth and fluid. It is pretty fun to create brushes too, very fewer settings compared with other painting software, but at the same time those boundaries makes you create some nice brushes more quickly. Hope you all dig it!
  19. Hey there! My name is Benjamin, and I just started to use the marvelous piece of software by Serif today (even though AD is a world for itself). Never did serious stuff in Photoshop, so it's kind of a double debut. I started arts 2 years ago and I still suck, so I'd love some critique. I will also use this thread to keep on publishing my work. Cheers!
  20. Portrait (vector illustration), using some self made brushes in AD (hair).
  21. Vector Graphic (Portrait): a wire mesh (wireframe), and also ... a picture ;) http://b-bertuleit.de/cate-the-cat/
  22. A series of friends portrait all made with the help of photo references. Only the last one (lutin) was made with Affinity photo. The latter with AD.
  23. I usually edit in Lightroom, love the tools and ratings so its my default app. I spent some time using Affinity Photo to create this Noir look. Shot with a Panasonic G7 and my Samyang 50mm. Must admit, I'm addicted to a Black & White shot. ;) Can't wait for the D.A.M to be able to organise the shots. Allan
  24. Added a screenshot (Affinity Photo Workspace) in "butterfly wings", tribute to Audrey Hepburn. I love this actress. She was so petite and delicate, but also strong, and she had a lot of power. Breakfast at Tiffany's is one of my favorite films, and of course I also love the cat (scenes) in the movie;-) http://b-bertuleit.de/butterfly-wing/
  25. I'v tried to do a more “realistic” drawing in AD. So it ended with some very different rendering on the same draw %) I'll try to continue those kind of tests ^^
