  1. It seems to me the shape tools that are based on polygons -- Polygon, Star, Double Star, Cloud, Square Star, and possibly others -- are all slightly under-featured, and would be better combined into a single thing. As a point of reference, look at the polygon tool in Scribus. Is there a reason not to make all of this a single tool, with the features Scribus has plus the features Affinity P has? And, like, what does "curve %" mean, anyway? make a heptagon and set the curve to -100% -- certainly it could go deeper than that. So what is that 100% of? and why limit it to ±100%? what is a Cloud but
  2. I am currently using version 1.6.5.61 on my iPad I make a selection using the Sampled Colour Tool then tick the box at the bottom. I then go to the Polygon Marquee Tool (on subtract) to cut out any unwanted selections. On the first pass t subtracts perfectly. However, if I have missed something and go back it does not seem to want to subtract any more. Please advise - thanks
  3. In this short tutorial I'll show you how to draw simple polygon spirals in Affinity Designer 1.6.0. We will use the rotation origin, transformation panel and the duplicate function. Link to the video on YouTube Enjoy the video and have fun to draw your own polygon spirals. It's simple but interesting! Norbert
  4. I'm trying to create a print file for a screen or direct to garment print file using polygons to create a wire frame image. I've created the wire frame but I want to do two things; one create two copies of the wire frame (a bear) and have one bear walking slightly ahead of the second. The first image semi behind the second. When I output the final file I want the background to be transparent so only the black wire frame is printed. The wire frame is a set of curves with a blank pixel layer. There doesn't seem to be any tutorials covering what I'm trying to do so any help would be appreciated.
  5. Hello! I think I have found a bug. There a small gaps between the polygons, even in the rendered result. I have attached images and the source file to demonstrate that. Please take a look at the black piano keys. They have white lines, what looks cool, but is not intended! The polygons should close seamless according to their coordinates. Please correct me if I do something wrong. Regards, Daniel Synthi.afdesign
  6. I have noticed that when I open/import an SVG image, in the layers list, where it lists all the objects, it says (Curve) to the right of polygon objects. This, while not a major issue, is inexact. A polygon is not a curve. A polygon is a geometric figure completely defined by a set of points connected by straight lines. Adam
  7. How can I adjust how steep the angle of the ends of the polygon tools hexagons are? I don't know the technical term for what part of the shape I'm asking about so I'm posting a picture. I want the same steepness no matter the width/length of the polygon, I'll post a picture of what I'm trying to achieve:
  8. Using 'stroke' and 'expand stroke' from layers menu is so close to being useful as a parallel lines tool commonly found in CAD programmes. For it to be far more useful however would require the (straight) lines created to be removable and editable, which then leads on to there being an edit polygon tool. Notice also that for a stroke to appear either side of a line whilst drawing, a polygon must first be 'closed'. If being used as a potential parallel line tool then consideration could also be given to addressing this. Probably way off where you are going with this incredibly useful al
  9. I would love a Fillet/Chamfer tool to be able to edit nodes (in an interactive mode if possible - dragging the sliders to adjust the values and seeing the changes updated in the scene). Something similar to what this plugin does for PS would be great http://photoshopscripts.wordpress.com/2013/02/03/corner-editor-photoshop-script/ Thanks!
