Hello, I couldn't find a way to "expand" the embedded and cropped document. the goal is, i.e., I have placed a document that has vector only, then I cropped it using vector crop tool. now for the manufacturing purpose (it can be laser printing etc.) I don't want program to rasterise it if I export the file as PDF. so I want to expand or convert this piece of vector document to actual curves layer. I know the way to get inside to the document and cut vector curve(s), then paste it back to actual document. but for my situation it is not possible because until my client says "it is final" I cannot use this method because I do adjustments on that specific embedded document. So I think I am requesting a feature for the vector crop tool or embedded document layer that expands or converts that cropped layer. or If you say that exporting as PDF automatically does what I want then this is really good. I am using designer 2.1.1

Hey everyone, slowly but surely I'm losing my mind over here, haha. I think I've rebuild this master page at least three times by now, but every time I load images, some of them are mirrored. What's even more irritating: If I apply the same master page again, they get mirrored again. Now … what is going on here? Can someone please explain? Applying_Master_changes_single_frame_orientation.mov Even if the frame itself were mirrored (unfortunately this is not indicated anywhere, or is it?), it shouldn't be mirrored every time the master page is re-applied, at least from my understanding. I come accross this issue on almost (?) all the other master pages that use frames, hence why the master pages name ends with a 2. I tried to fix it several times now and feel like I’m running in circles, setting up the master pages from scrap over and over again. Is this a known bug? Am I doing something wrong? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Cheers! -
hi I am having a nightmare at the minute no matter what i do both of these programs are crashing i cant change font or do pretty much anything or add a few picture without it shutting down i have so much do do right now i dont wont to pay for the v2 just yet as i have hardly used the photo one due to crashing i have a really good laptop so its not the specs on that please help i have uninstalled it and reinstalled it and it does the same thing it was design was fine before hand only crashing the odd time -
Really need some help & i know its something simple i am not doing or have turned off. I cant seem to insert art into my text - I havent had any issues for over a year with this so im guessing i have turned something off? Your help would be greatly appreciated

621/5000 An image in the picture frame. The picture is linked. It has original 4000x6000 pixels. When exporting with 300dpi, the resolution of the image was calculated incorrectly. I can't verify the problem because it doesn't always happen. Explanation picture: 2 picture frames with the same picture on a layout page. Only a different image section can be seen in both. The sections have only a different scaling. (1 = 1838 dpi, 2 = 2337 dpi) The image on the left was calculated and exported with much too low resolution. The right picture was calculated and exported correctly.

Hi, Hope all are well. I am a new Affinity Designer, trying to get familiar with all that Affinity has to offer for design and the likes... So here is my question, I am seeking to see how I can keep the image I uploaded in its original color, everytime I import an image it changes to a greenish color, but I can't find a way to keep the original color of the picture/image. Any assistance with this would be appreciated a tons... Thanks... -
I have pictures inserted into text with jump option to let text above and under picture. I want the picture to be centered on the page. When I set the anchor for a picture it stores vertical and horizontal position. Then il the text is modified the image moves to follow the new anchor position. That's great if a line of text is added or removed but if only a few words are added ou removed, the horizontal position of the picture isn't accurate any more... I should recenter it manually... that's really boring for me because I have a lot of such images. Is there anything I missed to let me fix the horizontal position of the image but not the vertical one ? Hope you could me the way... -
I use Pageplus X6 on Windows10 and cannot get it to insert a picture to a publication from my files. It will insert texts from files, but when clicking on Insert, Picture, From file it goes to a file (one which I have frequently used in the past) but none of the pictures in the file appear. It simply says 'No items match your search'. I have tried doing copy paste and get a similar result. When trying the same with a word document, copy and paste works, so why not for pageplus ? -
I recently purchased the Affinity Designer and love the ease of use. I've been using the indesign for the past 10 years. It would be very helpful to have a "Picture Frame" tool, like the one on the Affinity Publisher.

The Picture Frame Tool properties should have a default of None. Or, please allow the user to choose a default, different to the present Scale to Max Fit. Keep up the good work. LesliePrint. -
Hello, I have not found a way to add pictures within cells, and also for them to adjust to the size of the cell. Is this something that exists, or is planned to be added? If not, I would love to see this feature added. Thanks! -
I don't know whether this is expected behaviour but I was just wondering what other people thought about it. In Designer, you can have this work-flow: 1. Select Place Image tool; 2. Choose image and OK dialog; 3. Click or drag where you want the image to be; ...with the Image Layer that's just been created selected... 4. Select Place Image tool; 5. Choose image and OK dialog; 6. Click or drag where you want the image to be; 7. Image will be put in a separate layer as expected. In Publisher this behaviour is replicated, however, using a slightly different work-flow gives a different result: 1. Select Picture Frame tool; 2. Choose image and OK dialog; 3. Click or drag where you want the image to be; ...with the Picture Frame Layer that's just been created selected... 4. Select the Place Image tool; 5. Choose image and OK dialog; 6. The image in the Picture Frame is now replaced. NOTE: As an additional issue, even if you don't have the Picture Frame selected, the image in the last-created Picture Frame will flash very briefly to show the newly selected image before reverting back to the previous image and allowing you to click/drag the position of the new image. Personally I think this could be 'wrong' behaviour. When I use the Place Image tool I would expect to be able to create a new image layer at all times. The Replace Image button on the context bar is there if I want to replace the image in the currently selected Picture Frame - even if one doesn't yet exist - and the Place Image tool should work the same way - creating a new image layer - no matter what is currently selected in both Designer and Publisher (except in the instance below). I have also noticed that, if you have multiple Picture Frames, with no selected Picture Frame, when you use the Place Image tool you can mouse over the Picture Frames and see a preview of the image in each frame you mouse over. This seems like very nice behaviour which I would like to keep but I don't really like the idea of the image being immediately replaced when a Picture Frame is already selected. What do other people think? -
My suggestion to (easier) embed or link resources: In Addition to the resource manager: Add a checkbox "embedded" to the context strip. if the checkbox is checked - the resource is embedded, otherwise the resource is linked. Optionally add a checkable menuitem to the contextmenu of the resource:

Placed an image in a picture frame, and set the scaling to none, so I can resize to my desired scale. If I try to stretch or resice the frame, the image inside reverts to 100% scale, instead of maintain size or stretch on the same proportion.

I use Nikon D700 and Affinity Photo process my RAWs quite differ from Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop. Images are losing details and have incorrect tones and gamma. I did not find how to deal with it in Affinity. As a workaround, I can use Lightroom as RAW converter, then export to TIFF and can edit it in Affinity, which totally does not make any sense. Hope Affinity guys know this issue and working on that. See an example below. It is just opened RAW files without any additional settings implemented. You can see how much details I loose in lips and eyelashes.

Please help me other problem I have a Panasonic GX80 camera. If I open it in Affinity Photo, I set the colors and set it to arm with the Unsharp Mask. Then I export the image quality will be bad. It is blurry, painted, and apparently much firmer than when I import it from Photoshop Express. What's the problem here? Because it's really a big deal. If only setting what's wrong? I tried everything. I attached an example. But it's much firmer than other pictures. I'm going to add something like that. the left hand side of Photoshop Express is perfect. On a full screen, blurred as a picture of Affinity Photo. There are also bugs that I have selected. There is no such thing as PS Express (the PS E. very Sharp). I do something wrong?

I’m using two screens, the one of my ASUS notebook and an external screen, also ASUS. Is it feasible to get the tools on one screen, e.g. the laptop one, and the full picture on the bigger external one? As far I know it’s not possible to do so in the Adobe programs such as PS, LR, E, … But maybe Affinity Photo can? -
Hey, I would love to see the feature that makes it possible to create cinemagraphs in Affinity Photo. For this it is required to be able to edit short video clips in Affinity Photo just like you can do it in Photoshop. I just found it out today because I see more and more cinemagraphs on Instagram and wondered how to create them. Then I found this video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-dD_yeVMUzo I don't want that Photoshop feature to be copied because there are options in Photoshop that are more complex that it is required. That's why I really like Affinity. There are so many features and a clean working space. I hope I am not the only one who is interested in this feature to be implemented. Best regards, Andy

I saw a picture with the attachment in the dispersion on the website which is made by photoshop. I really want to use affinity to achieve this effect. But after a long time researching, I still can't figure it out. Is there anyone can give me a hand? Thank you ! -
Hi! I've just started using Affinity designer and are at the moment working on an event-poster. I want to incorporate a picture in the poster as well as my own drawings and text. The only problem is when i try to erase the background of my picture using the "erase brush tool" the entire picture becomes blurry. Is there a better way to make the picture transparent? Am I doing something wrong? -
Hi, when I import my PNG logo it gets pixelated regardless of dimensions I import. The same png logo looks great on my web page and other materials. I also use it in Sketch3 App and it looks great as well. Any Ideas what do I do wrong? -
This look was originally created using a preset in LR a while back. Thought I'd manually try and recreate this look in Affinity Photo. Actually, I think the result is a lot a lot better than the preset. Tomatoes on my fridge splash of water from the sink and light from the kitchen window, amazing results compared to the original. Impressed with the way Affinity handled this for me and love the look achieved. Inspiration is all around us, this was one of the first I took when I got my camera and still one of my favs. I was just wandering around the flat looking for something to snap and decided to open the fridge and grab these out, think they're called Piccolo Tomatoes go get some they're delicious... :) Going to attempt to go back to Affinity Photo and re-edit some of my favs... will post them.
