Export photos to Files
miguelinternet posted a topic in Pre-V2 Archive of Affinity on iPad Questions
When I export to “Files” many times the Affinity Photo app is blocked and I lose all the work done. -
Hello all, I recently started to get back into illustration after some years; I gave it up to study software development. I will update this thread from time-to-time. I would really appreciate some feedback. (No need to be soft on me) This is based off a photo:

Hello! I am not sure if I am posting in the right forum, so forgive me if I am. I need assistance in stitching photos together into one. I read all the other posts on the topic, but here's what I am aiming at. I have three pictures that I want to place side-by-side; it's three photos of an action, so they look similar but have subtle differences. When I try to use the panorama feature, all three photos get layered on top of each other, and I am not sure if it's because the photos are of the same person in action and the differences are subtle or what. Any ideas on how to put photos next to each other? So, here's an example: But what I want is for each layer to be side-by-side instead of on top of each other. Any ideas? Thanks!

If I want to save a pic I have to export it to Dropbox and download to Photos. Exporting to Pages is no help to me. I want to flatten a composite and then use it in another program. I just got Affinity Photo for iPad this week and the tutorial for drag and drop on iOS 11 shows importing multiple files to Home Page but I can't find how to add them from the Home page as layers. So far I have to keep going out to Dropbox and loading one at a time with Place. I couldn't load them as a stack.

When I use "Import From Photos" the order of the albums seems to be very mixed up. I can not figure out how Affinity for iPad sorts the albums. Is there a way to customize it? Thanks. RL

In Affinity designer and/or photo is there a way to import normal, diffuse, bump, & displacement maps into different layers, like one could do into Photoshop? The maps being pngs, tiffs etc. How can I import different pictures & images in general as different layers in the same project? Thank you so much, for anyone who can accurately answer my question. 3=)

It would be awesome if Affinity Photos could add a panorama extension to be able to create panoramas without leaving the Photos app. I'm not sure if this is even possible given the way macOS Photos extensions work, considering multiple pictures would need to be selected to create the panorama...but if it is possible, it would be awesome to have!

I'm new to photo editing and when I look at all the different options available, I get overwhelmed and just don't know where to begin. I wish there was an explanation to what all the different options mean and an explanation of when and in which scenario they should be used. So, I'm wondering if such a website or video in AP exists? I watch all the tutorial videos but unless I understand when I should use the different options, e.g. masks, layers, brushes, etc., I won't be able to edit my photo properly. When I try to follow what's being done in the video on Vimeo, my photos look horrible then I get frustrated and just do basic editing on my computer.

Hi there - after the early July update, the "Import from Photos" section changed for the better in terms of UI, but the devs seemed to have taken away the ability to access photos synced from your computer - meaning, I can ONLY choose iPad-native photos - which are extremely limited because almost no one takes pictures with tablets. Including myself. Where did the options go? I had thousands of pics to edit but now have access to maybe 20, including screenshots and selfies and other things I don't want to edit in a professional capacity. Do i really have to go through and mark all my MacOS photos as 'favorites'? Something is off here, any help would be appreciated! Best, n8r

My batch processed photos are always overexposed. Both the .afphoto file and the jpeg are extremely overexposed. I did the exact editing manually and the photos came out great. Not sure what I am doing wrong in the batch processing. Any suggestions?

Hi Guys Let's start by saying that I'm a newbie not just to HDR, but to Affinity Photo itself, so go easy on the sarcastic remarks. I have just tried out the HDR functionality by taking a tripod-mounted set of five exposures on my Sony A72, ranging from -2 to +2 stops. They were recorded as jpegs. Now in all the exposures, the sky has very little discernible tone, and in the +1 and +2 versions, none at all. When I create an HDR set, the sky is depicted not as a region of no tone, but more like a simulated picture of the northern lights, with successive bands of pale blue, lavender and white. Completely unusable. The likelihood is that I'm doing something wrong. The possibility is that HDR is failing to make something out of nothing. Anyone else had this experience?

Dear all, I am new to photography and editing photos. So, I don't understand anything about Photoshop but I fairly understand the basics of AP. So, please forgive me if the question is very basic and my question is, How to change the colour of the hair in eyebrow? I want to change the grey hair to black hair. Thanks in advance :) Kind regards,

Hi; I'm giving the AfP extensions a try; regarding Apple Photo app, i've found this issue: I've loaded a bunch of JPG images into Photos. Selected one, clicked 'edit'; looked for the AfP extensions and selected the 'edit in affinity photo' one. Image loads into AfP normally. Edited it, exported, then closed. Back in Photos, clicked on Cancel in order to preserve the original. Then I selected a second photo and repeated the steps. When selecting the AfP extension, Apple Photo tries to load it into AfP, but the document never gets opened. Pressing cancel or closing the app brings a message indicating that the edition is in progress, but the document never gets loaded into AfP. Quitting Apple Photos and reopening it brings me to step 1: can edit the first image, but hangs on the second. My camera's RAW format isn't compatible with Photos, so I cannot tell you if this is a JPG issue or a general one. Regards; Val

This is my first Mac, it is a 10-12. I have a Canon Pro 100. It is impossible to make the printer do tasks like borderless prints from affinity, or from the Photo program. Also, why can't I download pics from my 70D camera directly into Affinity? And , I can't move the pics from Photos into Affinity. I am very displeased, It shouldn't be that hard.

My TIFF files made with Affinity Photo are not displayed in Apple programs including Photos, Finder and Preview. This seems to happen to files made after a certain date some time this year. The Apple tech I talked to said there seemed to be a fix by Affinity Photo. I cannot find it. How do I get this issue fixed? Thanks.

Hi, we have just purchased Affinity Designer and Photo to use with a sublimation printer Ricoh SG7100DN and a Sefa heat press. We have installed the Sawgrass colour profiles and used them to print out the photo to add to coasters. The issue is the blacks are printing red/brown and this happens when we print black ink work illustrations. Please can anyone help with the settings? Attached are the screenshots of document preferences and document setup for printing. The screenshots include the photos we are using. The last one is of the coasters showing the colour issues. Any help much appreciated as this is new venture for us. Thanks Jo & Andy

Hey, Another one from Affinity TV. This we take a look at how you can use a new extension which enables you to store your pictures inside of Apple Photos edit in Affinity Photo and have those changes automatically save back for you. Something we haven't been able to do since iPhoto got replaced with Photos. So, excited about this one because of that. We also take a look at how you can use the Smart Albums inside the app to organise your pictures. Using Apple Photos with Affinity Photo Tutorial Enjoy, Allan

I have my entire library on an external hard drive. I should point out that I have been waiting for it to populate 36,000 photos, so should I be waiting more than 10 hours for this? Or is this a bug? Do I need to manually add the library again? Please any help would be good here.
