Hi dev team Is it possible to add a field to set a weight limit on export ? I want my jpeg to weight 500kb max so it would be great to set it up and the export modul to deal with the quality to reach that limit.

I read on one of the pages somewhere that all updates until you get to the final version are free. Is that correct? If not, what is the correct policy? Also, do you intend to add a simple file management module like bridge or something similar to Lightroom so that the photos would be visible when one goes to hunt?.

Hi, I am a beginner at affinity photo and I am trying to create virtual graduated filters using gradients on adjustment layers but I've ran into a problem: Whenever I try and use the gradient tool there is a weird box. Whenever I edit the gradient points it looks normal but when I let go the gradient is only constrained to the box: (Gradient while mouse is editing one of the points) (Gradient while mouse is not editing the points) Is there anyway I can fix this problem so my image can look normal? I have some third party plugins in Photoshop that I want to move to Affinity Photo. there are presently in the plugins folder in Photoshop. If I remove Photoshop they will be gone. How do I move them to a place where they will stay in Affinity.? I presently have them showing in the plugins folder under filter.

Opening an afphoto file from Dropbox worked fantastically well, but I didn't have one of the fonts on my iPad - would love to be able to add fonts to keep the visual fidelity in sync. (also for AD on ipad when it is ready) Amazing work on the app!! I'm stunned how much you were able to do, and how well. thanks, -damian

Hi, when exporting files, Photo offers me a different folder from the one the original was loaded from. Please, correct this because it can overwrite a file that shouldn't be overwritten.

I'm trying to place old images I made with Paint in an Affinity Photo Document. When I go to pasteurizer the image, it goes from nice sharp edges to adding unwanted "blending" or something of the sort. How do I avoid this? I have attached zoomed-in images to explain what I mean.

As the forum is now quite messy with no clear suggestion sub forum I post here. Apologies if this has already been discussed but I can not seem to find anything about it. It would be nice to enhance the parameter section in macro to allow for custom or constrained ranges as sometimes exagerated values make no sense. This could be done for example with: "default_value default_unit,[min,max]" or some other syntax which seems consistent across the app. I am not sure if this is better implemented when saving the parameter under a custom name or in the actual parameter setting. Example for Gaussian blur: 0.8px,[0.2,2].

While in app photo on ipad if I choose to open the image from here in another app, i can do so with a certain amount of apps, all I do is select the one I like and disable the others. Is it possible to do this with the AP app ?

I have a Paint Brush Tool Problem. Using the very good epic skies overlays I am unable to get the paint brush tool to perform after applying the epic skies macro. The erase brush tool does work however on the sky layer. I have watched James’ video on this a few times and it all seemed so easy! In my case the paint brush tool does nothing with "black” or “white” selected. I cannot work out where I am going wrong as the paint brush tool works correctly in other mask layers. Advice please. Hi, I would like to suggest the following for the Develop and Photo Personas ... it is only my thought that it may be split between the 2 because of the ease of use as a filter vs an adjustment ... DEVELOP PERSONA Add Luminosity Masking Add Adaptive Sharpening adjustment as it is more suited to RAW development because it doesn't affect large areas of solid color in the image, e.g. sky PHOTO PERSONA Adaptive Wide Angle Lens correction filter as distortions are not consistent across a image from edge to center Keystone Horizontal/Vertical which would allow you to adjust parts of the image not just from the outside using the perspective tool.

I'm using the latest versions of AP (1.6.1.93) and Neat Image plug-in (8.3.1.0). They used to work fine together, but both have recently been updated, and I don't know whether I've used the Neat Image plug-in since the updates. AP takes an exception and crashes after the plug-in call regardless whether I'm working on .tif, .psd, or .afphoto files. Other plug-ins seem to be fine (NIK collection and PortraitPro). A week or so ago, after a crash, the Crash Reporter window came up and I filled in the info but haven't heard anything about it. I expected to see some posts here about it but don't find anything; am I the only one? I'm using Windows 8.1 64-bit and the 64-bit version of Neat Image.

this is probably a minor feature that takes a lot of time to implement, but here it is. I love the "Edit in Photo/Designer" option under File, but in Windows 10, this doesn't make the other app active when the program is already launched. Can this be changed so Windows switches automatically to the other application?

Semi-automatic masking / masking guide tool for Affinity Photo Here is best example i can find (youtube link) - Zephyr's Masquerade tool is semi-automatic masking tool, user paint guide lines which help algorithm to solve alpha channel. Its very fast, i don't know for sure how it works, but i would guess that those guide lines descrip to the algorithm textures and colors which are wanted (or/and unwanted) for mask. This come to my mind when i saw Adobe's new automatic subject selection demo, where user don't have any control, just some kind of lucky button, so i thought serif could make better, and i think this kind of tool would be much better with better flexibility and control. And it should be non-destructive, it could be based on editable splines/vector paths (like freehand pen tool, or affinity design's Pencil tool) for example? Maybe Affinity Photo should have "Mask persona" (all masking tools in same place, with lasso selection, mask bursh, guide brush, some procedural masking tools? vector tools, refine tools etc. with easy to use possibility control and edit multiple mask channels for same layer, if layer has multiple mask/alpha channels then mask persona would be great way to control the complexity, at least it would be nice to have way to control multiple alpha layers like separated hair mask, head mask, etc. for detailed and flexible workflow)

I am unable to open Skies.afmacros; I am informed that it is the wrong file type! I would like to reinstall this zip file but I no longer have the original of the email! Can I be sent the link again please? When comparing file size I see that the file is much smaller than the other macros and has the pro word uplift which I assume is is wrong. I have all the up lift epic skies files however.Many thanks.

Example: I use the brush tool, then switch to another tool, then press B to bring back the Brush tool, but now I find it being changed to the Color Replacement tool. I would like the adjustment size of the brush tool to be in exact increments of 5, not 5.1, etc Make the default setting of the Sharpen Brush to Unsharp Mask instead of Clarity Support for ProPhoto RGB

Hi dear Affinity support team, I purchased both Affinity Photo and Affinity Designer for my creative workflow. As MacOS user and owner of two different Mac machines, I use the Affinity suite on all of them. It would be a real plus to have the settings (shortcuts, brushes, preferences, panels layout, etc) of both Affinity applications automatically synchronized between my MacOS machines (through iCloud or Dropbox/GoogleDrive). I hope to have helped you with my feedback.

Good evening everyone, I've a little question because I'm new to Photo and I cannot understand if I'm doing something wrong or if it's an Affinity Photo problem. I'm opening a Multichannel OpenEXR generated by Blender that contains all my render passes (I've check that with a compositing software and all the passes are there) but Photo only show me into the layer tab the RGB "beauty" channel and the alpha one. I don't understand why that's happen because as far as I know Photo should support Multichannel OpenEXR without any problem. I'm missing something or I've found a potential bug/issue? I'm using Affinity Photo and Designer v1.6 Windows. The recent enhancements of the fonts UI has been a great benefit, but I would like to know if it's possible to keep the Photo and Designer favourite fonts in sync with each other automatically.

I need to grade (develop) several photos to the same standard, but run into a few problems. The right way to do this for me, would mean being able to overwrite the profile I have laid on all the pictures, and have all the pictures loaded with said profile update automatically. Instead, Affinity Photo rejects saving a profile with a previously used name, so when updating the profile I need to give it a new name, and then change all the photos to use that new profile. Which is both tedious and messy. I understand the need to protect users agains sudden and unwanted changes, but it goes too far. It slows down a whole class of use cases. I also see it could be kind of slow to update a large number of pictures at once, but the advanced thing to do here would be a "lazy" approach, where the changes wouldn't be applied to the pictures before needed. As in viewed, saved, exported and so on. (But for me, either way is an improvement.) I also tried the snapshots in the develop persona, and while I see that they have a limited use they are impossible to rename. Which makes it difficult to remember where I was when I took that snapshot. Fix, please?
