  1. Hi everyone, I wanted to know if there is a way to draw pixel per pixel to make some pixel-art on AP or even AD ? In AD the only way is to make a square but it's not very efficency and in AP i don't think it's made for that. Maybe it's just not possible for the moment or the softs arn't made for that but i'm asking the question. Thanks :)
  2. Hello guys, a friend of mine is trying photo right now and has some performance issues on his macOS Sierra (macbook pro, 8GB RAM, 2,6GHZ i5) it jiggles while zooming in/out and slide through a picture I tried to help him and we saw that his trial is only 1.4.3. Is this right??? I think this is a bit odd. Should be a trial does not reflect a current version to test?
  3. I was watching an awesome tutorial yesterday and want to review it, but cannot for the life of me locate it. It's on Composition. It has a beautiful model with clouds and pink petals blowing around her. Who remembers that beauty? Thanks in advance. Michael
  4. Dear Affinity/Serif, Trying to find a really basic feature of something that is very easy to accomplish in Photoshop, but I cannot seem to find how to do this quickly in Affinity Photo (or Designer). Example: - I've made a screenshot with a border of white (or black) around it - I would like to trim the image by removing only the white (or black) border In Photoshop I would use the Image > Trim... option from the menu. With that feature it is possible to quickly trim the image using transparent pixels, the top left or bottom right color. Another option in Photoshop would be to make a selection, and then choose Image > Crop from the menu. Affinity Photo does have a Crop tool, but I cannot seem to combine this tool with making a selection. Is there an easy way to accomplish this in Affinity Photo? Thank you!
  5. Hello everyone! I would like to request a feature that doesn't seem to be included in Affinity Photo. In Photoshop, you can use an additional key (I think it's alt) to move the opposing crop border as well as the one you're moving with the cursor. This way, symmetryical cropping can be achieved. Can you inclide this feature in a future release? Or is this already included and I just don't know how to use it? On a Mac, cmd would probably make sense since the "Move Tool" already includes that behaviour (mirroring border movement) when using cmd. Best wishes, Shu
  6. Hello, I am a 3D artist looking to ditch Photoshop and am very happy to have found Photo. Part of my workflow has me baking out various textures from Marmoset's Toolbag 3. Within this package is the ability to bake all of the textures into a multi-layer PSD. I've hit my first hurdle working with Photo though as I am unable to open up these exported PSD files in Photo. The error message looks like this: I've also attached a low resolution bake of a multi-layered PSD exported from Toolbag if it helps give your team any insight into its file structure. bake.psd
  7. Where or how can I get a copy of the Library items seen in the demo video for Affinity Photo. I would love to test and play around with the various library filters seen in the demo video here: http://cgpress.org/archives/affinity-photo-for-windows-is-released.html
  8. Hello everyone! I've got some questions about shortcuts in Affinity Photo and Designer: 1.: I read that ctrl + shift + tab is supposed to let me jump to the next file. But for whatever reason, this only works sometimes. Is there a different way to jump to the next / previous file? Could I be doing something wrong? 2.: Is there a way to select the layer above / below the currently selected one? I am working on OSX 11.6 using Designer 1.5.1 and Photo 1.5.1. Thanks for any help! Shu
  9. Hi, It looks like the crop tool in Affinity Photo is not as flexible as in PhotoPlus. With the latest crop tool update in PhotoPlus we were able to go anywhere we wanted like creating a fixed dimension crop from any size crop marquee: Constrained 658 x 498 -> crop marquee became this dimension and could be manually dragged bigger and moved. When applying the effect the selected area was cropped and automatically downsized to 658x498 (image size). This seems not possible in Affinity. Additionally, when recording a crop in a macro there is no way to select an image area to be cropped: Affinity just crops the area recorded, period, while no way to select the area to be cropped. This makes the crop tool useless for macro recording. That truly exciting crop flexibility was very useful for quickly transforming (part of any) images to required sizes like website uploads, wall papers, optimizing images for DTP purposes, etc. Hope PhotoPlus crop power is going to make it in Affinity :-P Roberto
  10. On the New Document dialogue can we have presets for common video sizes? One use of the programme is to create title layers for import into video NLEs. Thank you.
  11. It would be nice to have keyboard shorcuts for hardness, similar to the ones for opacity. E.g., Alt-5 sets the hardness to 50%, Alt-52 to 52%.
  12. Hi Affinity team, (Sorry when using wrong terms in my post. I use German localization so I have the English terms not at hand.) Since 1.5 we have sticky settings which is basically quite useful but, in my opinion, not the perfect solution. I have certain problems with the current implementation: Some tools share the same setings, e.g., all retouching tools seem to use the same settings which is not always useful. Some tools have no sticky settings, in particular, the crop tool where I really miss it. For example, in the majority of cases I want to crop by preserving the original ratio, but the tool always resets to unrestricted. Also I want to always use shading of the outside of the crop area. (In fact this new feature is so useful that I just want to have it as standard instead of an option.) Different types of images and tasks require different settings. Filter and adjustment layers have no sticky settings at all, which would be quite userful. Altogether I would prefer to have customizable presets instead of sticky settings, ideally with the possibilty to store and load own settings to quickly switch them. I think of settings files that can be edited from the preferences dialog. Also nice would be a button or rightclick option by which I can simply store the current setting of a certain tool. Also for live filter I would like to have a possibility to store multiple presets (like there are already for adjustments). The new macro feature is a bit of replacement, but only a bit since I have to explicitly record macros. Maybe you could think about such an improvement. Thanks, Naqoy
  13. Hi I've bought windows version and I am really happy with this program, but it has some problems the aplication stops suddently, it gave me a message telling me that affinity photo has stopped and closes, it happens when i am working with several or a lot of layers, fx or adjustments. (no more than 15 layers) the day after yestarday I just apllied and effect and the pc got very slow and a bluscreen appeard with a text like this: error storing or something so, I don't remember very well.... I think this software has problems with its performance, I think my pc is pretty good for working with it 'cause I can run modern games My pc: amd fx 8320 3.5ghz asus m5a99x evo r2.0 corsair 1600 4gb x 2 dual channel = 8gb XFX Radeon 7850 2gb dd black edition with last drivers seagate barracuda 1tb 7200 rpm all without overclock thanks for your help...... A final question......... can I post in spanish?
  14. Hello everybody, I'm relatively new to Affinity Designer and Affinity Photo and I'm just sitting in on those very useful programmes (before, I figured out Photoshop as a layman). Now, I want to add linear transparencies to one of my pictures on a flyer on two borders but I just can add it on one of the four borders of my picture. Every time when I click somewhere else on my picture, I just can work on one and the same tranparency. Well, is there any possibility to add another linear one on the same picture? I also know, that there are alternative possibilities, e.g. to add a circular transparency or so, but I rather need the linear ones. Thank you!
  15. For creating windows installer images .bmp and .ico files are required. It would be great to be able to able to export in these file formats. Thanks, Christian
  16. (at least to me and my colleagues to get started with Affinity) Save As "layered Tiff" (NOT export) Ability to select tools using the keyboard keys (and NOT the way it is now, maybe add it as option in the preferences...) Save As / Export as background process Ability to make new guide line by dragging them from the scales Line (polygone) selection tool is not in the selection tool menu (???) Affinity is currently about 2-3 times slower than PS CS6 on my machine. It's a little painful with 22MP pictures, we also works with 60-100MP pictures using PS.. Transform/perspective/resize tool a little un-intuitive (?) Level tools should display the peaking value while pressing alt (like PS). No default preset in many tools (Curves, HSL, etc...) We are really looking forward to throw PS away. Unfortunately, Affinity does not match our need (yet). Regards
  17. Hi, I think affinity misses heavily on some good colour correction options. Other software brands allow for almost automatic correction or profiling using great/xrite colour checker cards, e.g. passport, SG24 or DG which are all industry standard. Without that option of automatic profiling Affinity photo is not really to be any valuable tool for pro users who take colour processing seriously. Please add this feature. Thanks.
  18. Hi, This is the feature I miss most from other editors: When creating a new document (pressing Ctrl+N), I want the interface to suggest me the width and height of the image I have in my clipboard. Could that be possible? Thanks! Ps: By the way, I really like this program. It's really easy to use!
  19. Can we have a keyboard shortcut key that applies a colour fill to a selection in AP as in Photoshop. In order to fill a selection in Photoshop you use "shift/delete and this applies the selected colour to that selection. This would enhance the user experience and workflow of AP. By the way i'm a Mac OS user. Thanks
  20. As a long-time user of Photoshop (boo down with the cloud looking for an alternative) and Corel painter, one feature that Affinity designer would benefit from is the “lock layer transparency” tick box option. I have only played around with Affinity Designer for a day – there is probably a way of doing this with masks, however, I use lock transparency layer alll the time for blocking out silhouettes then paint within the layer. Also there is no support for TGA’s format in designer or photo – still widely used in the games Industry for texture creation.
  21. I love affinity so far but for a digital painter there is one very fatal flaw. I need the ability to lock layer transparency to paint, not just through the brush tool, but for every tool.. It would be a really needed feature for painters like me coming from Photoshop.
  22. My default RAW processor is DXO, because it does the best I've used so far. I do like the RAW processor in Affinity and have used it for final images. However, it could use a few tweaks in my opinion. One is removing fringing. I do like that we can choose the colour, but it would be immensely helpful if we could use the eyedropper tool to grab the exact colour and if it could be additive that would be wonderful. Not fair to compare to DXO, I realise as lens comparison and compensation is what they do.
  23. Not sure if it's already planned. It would be nice to have a fade brush option, similar to fade filter.
  24. I'm still fairly new to Affinity but I have looked through every menu and have been unable to find it. Please forgive me if this is already built in. Otherwise: Please add the ability to create fake lens flairs (similar to Photoshops: filter-render-lens flair). I'm sure this feature has been requested before but hopefully it can be implemented soon. I know that generally in photography, lens flair is looked down upon and is usually not desired. In fact a lot of photographers probably use Affinity to remove lens flair but of course Affinity is used by more than just photographers. I work in the architectural visualization field and the main objective of my job is creating renderings that look as realistic as possible. Part of that realism is being able to make the rendered image look like it was shot with a camera which means adding depth of field and lens flairs where appropriate. I'm sure there are others in need of this feature. It would be awesome if this could be built right into Affinity and we could have a selection of lens flairs and be able to control their brightness and location in a non destructive way. Good job on the program. Keep up the good work.
  25. Hi folks and Happy Birthday to AP and all the team!!! I just figured out that an option for the Crop tool to instantly crop to a selection bounding box, would be quite helpful. Also, providing an option to snap the crop area to selection edges could be very nice. What do you think?
