Hi I've just moved from photoshop to Affinity Photo and would like to keep it this way. How ever i am getting some huge performance issues. I have a brand new Mac Studio with M1 Max & 64GB RAM. I was expecting the app to fly buy it just lags and stutters. So much so im on the verge of signing up for Photoshop again. If i have a 16bit Tiff file open and i try to crop it, it seriously lags and takes me almost 1min to even position the crop frame. Even on other smaller files i get the spinning beach ball while the software thinks about something. It could be Document resizing, filters etc. Is there anything i can do to solve this? Or is this a series of bug issues that will be fixed?

Hi, I bought affinity photo on windows Microsoft Store recently. I found out some of the brushes other than basic brushes always have a huge delay when I use a high resolution(300 ppi)artboard. I read about similar problems that have been discussed in this forums. I changed the spacing of brushes that delayed, but this solution is not working for my case. There is no problem when I draw with Adobe Photoshop. I wonder if other people have this problem, or it is just my setting being incorrect. My computer has an intel core i7 7th gen chip, a Nvidia GeForce gtx1060 graphic card, and 16g ram. This delay problem is really bugging me. I hope there is a way to fix it, or I can only going back to photoshop.

Hello, everybody. I have a lot of performance issues in affinity photo. I have : - Windows 10 - i5-4690k - 16gb RAM - GTX 960 4GB I've been searching through the forums and I've seen that maybe there are some options turned on that make the software perform badly. I don't know if there is any combination of settings that will improve performance, it is very frustrating to work on affinity photo. I ALWAYS end up closing it because I can't even move a curve line smoothly. Thank you all in advance!

Hello everyone, I'm using affinity publisher to compile my architecture thesis project (full of drawings and pdf as you can imagine) but I just realized that it runs painfully slow. Is there any way to make it faster? I'm on a Lenovo P50, 16gb RAM, Intel Xeon E3-1505M and Nvidia Quadro M2000M (4gb VRAM) that doesn't seems to work while running affinity (strange, as in performance settings it shows up) Thank you for your further replies.

Hi there, first off just wanna say I love Affinity Designer. Its truly a great tool and I use it for everything ✌️ I've run into a performance issue and i'm wondering if there is anything I can do to improve it. It seems that every time I have a vector object with more than ~20 points the CPU usage spikes through the roof when manipulating a curve. It chills out after releasing it, but it can be quite annoying. I've looked into a few other performance forum posts and have set the view quality to 'Nearest Neighbor' & i've increased the RAM usage limit. My renderer is a 1080ti, but since it seems the CPU usage is spiking that seems to be the problem. I have an Intel i5, so not the best, but I dont really run into bottlenecks like this with any other programs like After Effects or various games. Are there any solutions to improve here outside of just getting a newer processor? If there is any other info I can provide to help out just let me know! Thanks again for making this awesome program, i've been using it for years now and it just keeps getting better. 2020-05-15_21-06-18_Trim.mp4
