  1. Is there any plan to allow the ability to merge shapes a la the Unite/Pathfinder tool in AI? so far the only workaround that I can see is to save the file. Open it and edit in Illustrator using the Pathfinder tool. Then bring it back into Designer. Is there some other way to merge multiple shapes into just one? Thank you best, C’
  2. If you could add this feature of "Merge" in pathfinder tool like in Adobe illustrator it will help in vector art coloring easily. I hope you take this request into consideration. Thank you
  3. Good day! As you can see, there are 2 objects in the attachment: a circle and a line. I was trying to divide the circle into 2 pieces using the divide Boolean operation but failed. I believe the circle is supposed to be divided into 2 pieces, but that's not happening. But why?
  4. Hi everyone, I'm creating this topic because of an issue I have with Affinity Designer. Let me show you an example on the last project I had to work on. I have two circles who are curves, and I want the part of the smaller circle who is outside the bigger to disappear. . Here's how I tried to do that : 1/ I duplicate them (because I'll need them again later), hide the first ones and and divide the new ones with a boolean operation. 2/ I delete the part that I don't need. 3/ And finally, I combine them with the "Add" boolean oparation. And, there is my problem. I still have a small space between them, we can see it a little on the last screenshot, but let me show it to you with a zoom. How can I avoid this ? The spaces are here, they are real and can be seen at almost every level of zoom, even more if I apply a gradient on it (bad luck, this logo is with a gradient lol). A last screenshot that will maybe help you help me : As you can see, the two "levers" that allow me to change the curve are not exactly at the same position, I think that my problem will be solved if they were, but why aren't they ? Thanks a lot to those who will at last try to help me, that's a problem who completely prevents me to work on logo projects with Affinity Designer. Chris
  5. The algorithms for some of the geometry tools seem to be slightly off when calculating where the finishing shapes should be. In the video, I placed a blue circle under the red one to show that the combined shapes to be divided before I do it don't match the combined shapes after I hit "Divide." geometry_tool_problem1.mp4
  6. I've been slowly transitioning to using Affinity Designer (and Photo) and loving it. However, there are a couple sore thumbs that I thought I would bring up here for future additions: The ability to right-click on the rulers and change your document measurement units. Paste in Front/Back. I've seen this mentioned a couple times before and the general attitude seems "Smart Object" functionality for placed items. The other day I placed 25 Affinity Photo documents into a big Designer file, and then went back and edited half of them in Photo. I assumed they would update, but after some digging learned that placing actually meant embedding the Photo documents inside my Designer project. I ended up creating a file that was over a gig and needed to re-edit and replace them. Clearer visual isolation of groups and subgroups. When I start clicking into various groups of elements, it can be difficult to tell what Inception-like layer I find myself in. The way Illustrator greys out outside elements really helps. Not having "background" selected by default in the Export persona. Always having artboards align to full pixels. I create a ton of artboards, and a big part of my Designer workflow has become taking time to go through them one-by-one and make sure there's no extra pixel rows or columns being added. And while I'm on a roll… 6. The ability to edit pathfinder objects after-the-fact. For example, if I subtract a circle from a square, it would be great to pop back in to this shape and adjust the circle instead of having to deal with the new curve outlines of the resulting shape. See Figma and Sketch as an example. Apologies if some of these are actually features that exist. I've tried to dig down on all of them and haven't found anything concrete. Keep up the good work!
  7. Hello When I try to use boolean operation I have to completely overlap my shape to get it subtracted correctly. If I use the snapping features and then subtract the shape, Affinity Designer leave me some leftover vectors. Am I doing anything wrong ? Thanks AD.mov test.afdesign
