  1. If you could add this feature of "Merge" in pathfinder tool like in Adobe illustrator it will help in vector art coloring easily. I hope you take this request into consideration. Thank you
  2. Good day! As you can see, there are 2 objects in the attachment: a circle and a line. I was trying to divide the circle into 2 pieces using the divide Boolean operation but failed. I believe the circle is supposed to be divided into 2 pieces, but that's not happening. But why?
  3. Hi everyone, I'm creating this topic because of an issue I have with Affinity Designer. Let me show you an example on the last project I had to work on. I have two circles who are curves, and I want the part of the smaller circle who is outside the bigger to disappear. . Here's how I tried to do that : 1/ I duplicate them (because I'll need them again later), hide the first ones and and divide the new ones with a boolean operation. 2/ I delete the part that I don't need. 3/ And finally, I combine them with the "Add" boolean oparation.
  4. The algorithms for some of the geometry tools seem to be slightly off when calculating where the finishing shapes should be. In the video, I placed a blue circle under the red one to show that the combined shapes to be divided before I do it don't match the combined shapes after I hit "Divide." geometry_tool_problem1.mp4
  5. Is there any plan to allow the ability to merge shapes a la the Unite/Pathfinder tool in AI? so far the only workaround that I can see is to save the file. Open it and edit in Illustrator using the Pathfinder tool. Then bring it back into Designer. Is there some other way to merge multiple shapes into just one? Thank you best, C’
  6. There seems to be a problem with using the boolean operation "divide" on shapes with smart nodes. It creates a very strange effect (see attached image) Also, if I use the boolean operations with alt pressed to create a compound path, all the operations create undesired effects on paths with smart nodes. These things work normally on regular nodes. I hope there is a fix for this? Thanks!
  7. I've been slowly transitioning to using Affinity Designer (and Photo) and loving it. However, there are a couple sore thumbs that I thought I would bring up here for future additions: The ability to right-click on the rulers and change your document measurement units. Paste in Front/Back. I've seen this mentioned a couple times before and the general attitude seems "Smart Object" functionality for placed items. The other day I placed 25 Affinity Photo documents into a big Designer file, and then went back and edited half of them in Photo. I assumed they would update, but
  8. The Pathfinder equivalent tool found in Affinity Designer needs some work. I tend to create logos by overlapping shapes, using the divide tool, deleting the excess then recombining them to get rid of the lines. This works perfectly in Illustrator, however when trying the same method in Affinity Designer, I'm left with stray points and lines, it's essentially just combining the shapes like a group instead of merging. The space in between is to minuscule to be shifted manually. I don't know if it has something to do with you 1,000,000x Zoom, but the tool should somehow be reworked to allo
  9. Maybe it is not quite a bug but should be improved. Try my example file. Cheers :) . add_objects.afdesign
  10. Hello When I try to use boolean operation I have to completely overlap my shape to get it subtracted correctly. If I use the snapping features and then subtract the shape, Affinity Designer leave me some leftover vectors. Am I doing anything wrong ? Thanks AD.mov test.afdesign
  11. Hi, I don't know if it is a bug, but it seems that the pathfinder shape operations do not work properly on shapes created with smart nodes. It does not make a clean cut, as it should do. When I convert the nodes to smooth, it works normally.
