  1. Hello, I don't understand why the leading changes between the different lines in this Text Frame (attached image). Between the first and the second line, the text "ran outside" the bounds of the Frame, and created two lines automatically. Between the second and third line, I hit the return key, creating the third line manually. If I highlight all of the text, the leading is the same (12.4pt in this case). Why is the space between the second and third line different than the space between the first and second line? Thank you!
  2. Hi anyone this may help I had a big issue with Tab Stops doing whatever the heck it wanted in Affinity Designer and not what I wanted!! I love Affinity Designer, but, I noticed a few of you out there were having same issues. So this is hopefully just to help you. After many minutes, possibly hours, I finally worked out the best way to do it. If you know the exact points/increments you require: Format the text, size and font how you want it to look first (not the tab stops). Create a paragraph style for this. Then go into Text Styles, find your new style (in my case, 'TABBED shite'), and add in the increments exactly as you want them here. It works a treat! Hope this can help others until Affinity Publisher comes out Andy
  3. I'm just working my first half an hour with Affinity Designer, but I'm just missing an option to divide floating text into two or more columns. This should be made possible either with combined textframes, paragraph style or textframe options.
  4. I'm finding when laying out tabular data that it's a pain to add/edit tab stops only from the small text input field (some of the UX there isn't really good either, as I can't seem to scroll down the window when I have entered more than 5 tab stops). Being able to see the tab stops on a ruler (similar to InDesign) to be able to click and drag them to adjust would make viewing and adjusting the paragraph tab stops a million times better.
  5. Can this be done? I'm pasting a long text into a text box but want make a 3 column layout thus i need it to be split into three separate text boxes. Right now i'm doing this the old fashioned way - manually by copying and pasting what doesn't fit in a text box to the other boxes... chers!
  6. Hello, just installed Affinity Photo 1.6.1.93. I just can´t open any of these panels: character, paragraph and glyph browser. I tried trhough the "Text" and "View/Studio..." menus. Neither of two ways are working... Thanks in advance.
  7. Fairly new to using Affinity Designer, but found on the Mac, the paragraph Spacing tab doesn't have any entry boxes, just icons. Therefore, the only way to set any spacing is by creating/editing styles or the less accurate keyboard method. Possibly, unique to me...?
  8. Just a wild, crazy thought... why do paragraph and character have to be separate panels at all? Can't we have just one single, long panel with all text settings together. We could call it "Typography". If I'm editing text, I inevitably have both panels open at the same time anyway and it will remove some redundancy. Here's what I'm thinking: The same thing with colour and swatch panels. I also always have both of them open at the same time so they might as well be in the same panel like this... (Note the pull down menu for choosing different swatch display styles – small icon, big icon, list view etc. Just a little idea thrown in for good measure) Since your roadmap includes multiple fills and strokes, perhaps strokes & fills should also be crammed into 1 panel. I'm worried you're going to take Illustrator's approach to multiple fills & strokes... 1 panel for stroke 1 panel for fill 1 panel to list them to define which you have selected. and another panel for for effects, just for good measure?
  9. I'm not sure if this is a bug, or just a feature that's missing/not implemented, moderators please move the topic if needed. :) You can set the figure style to Oldstyle using the typography window, but the same option is not present in the paragraph/character style editor. Please see attached image, thanks!
  10. Feature currently available in Photoshop & Illustrator. Very Useful when you design something with a bounding/text box and decide later you would prefer using Point text & vice versa.
