  1. Hi, Is there a way to select a Pantone colour by its reference number i.e. P 356U or do I have to wade through the displayed colour swatch and try to find (eventually!) the correct colour Many thanks Mike
  2. In AD I used several global Pantone colors (colours) and came up with a couple questions. When selecting which color I wanted I clicked on several possible choices to see which I liked better. Every color I clicked on was added to the Document color swatch list. Now it contains many colors that I'm not actually using. And most are extremely close to the ones I am using. How can I tell which are not being used in my drawing so I can remove them? I know I should have renamed the ones I was using as they were created, so I could tell them apart. Live and learn. But I didn't. I figured if I only had 6 global colors, red, brown, green, blue, orange and yellow I could easily tell which swatch was which without a name. If I know a Pantone color I want by number, the swatch panel let's me search for it. But it only shows swatches matching my search criteria. If I am looking for a color that would be in the area of the search color, how do I find the search color in the full swatch pallet? If I have an object selected and go to the Colour panel it shows me the Pantone color number, how do I know which pallet it came from? (Solid coated, Goe uncoated, etc.) And one final one I never really thought about but how come seeing as I am specifying the English language in the US region, color is spelled colour? I am new to Pantone, so maybe some of these wouldn't be issues if I had more experience. Sorry for any stupid questions contained herein.
  3. I've been able to import my chosen Pantone books into Designer but there doesn't seem to be an option for working with a tint of a spot colour as in Illustrator e.g., 50% tint of Reflex Blue. Is there an option to do this?
  4. I want to have a box with Pantone 032 as a solid colour. I exported it as an EPS into Indesign, it did not import the Pantone colour in. It only works when you use a PDF. Is this a BUG or am I doing something wrong. Newbie to Affinity Thanks
  5. Hi As a former freehand user I am happy that affinity has answered most of my needs, but freehand had the ability to pick Pantone colors for printing purposes and that is vital to my work. I hope this will be an addition to future releases.
  6. Hey, I have an image that I need to convert to a single Pantone color. Is there any way to change the color format to duotone? Thanks! :)
  7. I really want to buy this program and get rid of Adobe, who I think has gone down hill specially with features such as exporting for app designers (@1 @2 @3). Anyway, I still do some print work and saw that Pantone colors are on the roadmap which is good but how can I work around this now so I can start using it fully? Is there a date when this is planned on getting added? Or a good way to import? Right now it defaults my pantone colors to white. Thanks. Good job.
  8. Since AD doesn't support Pantone colors yet I had to convert them in Illustrator to CMYK, which it gave me decimal formulas for each CMYK color. When I open the file in AD, it rounds to the closest, but why allow the exact formula AI gives?
  9. I'm excited to hear about potential feature set for Affinity Publisher as a long time Adobe Indesign and Acrobat user (still using CS6 and refuse to jump on the CC bandwagon). First, I wondered if there were plans to have Affinity Publisher act also as a complete or partial Acrobat replacement. For example, often I will need to rotate scanned pages from a photocopier, extract or delete pages, crop, make annotations (grading academic work, for example), creation of fillable forms and drawing markups etc. all in the native PDF format. Being able to open a full (or partial) multi-page PDF using the document's existing page size would be excellent for quick editing. Second, an annoyance and possible solution to a over-complicated workflow in Indesign. I often create artwork for music CDs and use pre-existing templates from replication factories. They tend to use one layer to show guidelines for text safety regions etc. Once the artwork builds up and I'm trying place various graphics and text within the guides, it would be great to be able to quickly make all layers more transparent with one key toggle so that I can easily see the underlying guides and line things up. Right now, I have to click on objects, click on transparency then use the slider to make more transparent. Then the same again to return to print look. Make sense? It's frustrating right now...maybe I'm just missing a key Indesign feature. Finally, I assume Publisher will include Pantone, spot colors and varied PDF output options including booklet creation? Would be great to have advanced imposition options including number of sheets per signature etc. to cater for simple small booklets (a la OS X create booklet service) to big thick manuals requiring 1 sheet per signature ( a la Cheap Imposter). Thanks!
  10. It would be great if users had the ability to select PANTONE colours from the Colour Chooser dialog or from the Swatches tab.
