  1. Sometimes I like to zoom out and look at one of my layouts but I noticed that with Publisher the pages are so close together that I can't just focus on one layout at a time. In this case I am designing a YouTube thumbnail so I want to see what it will look like reduced way down. With Designer I could just select the art board tool and space the art board apart but there doesn't seem to be a similar solution like this on designer. I would prefer to stay working in Publisher since it is a real design tool. Is there some option for selecting page spacing?
  2. I have two Publisher documents that I would like to merge, or certain pages (a whole document of regular pages, master pages or any variation) that I'd like to add / import from one into the other document. Again, any variation on it being a full Publisher document, a PDF or just master pages, but I'd like some way to re-use master pages without having to do a document A copy, open Document B to paste, then back to Document A to copy next master and back to Document B to paste ... times however many master pages etc that I have. Thanks!
  3. I'm new to Designer and I can't seem to find the option to create multiple pages in a document. Can anyone give me a hint?
  4. I'd like to reallocate a different set of pages to each section using the Section Manager, is there a way of doing this in the Beta? John
  5. Help! Whenever I import a manuscript PDF created from Pages into Affinity Designer, the page numbers all have a ">" symbol next to them and sometimes illustrations do too. I can usually delete these symbols, but for a 200 page document, this is a pain.
  6. When using the tab-key in the Add Pages dialog it starts from the Master Page selector which is at the bottom of the dialog and then jumps to the number of pages at the top. I prefer the number of pages to be active from the start. As a side not: I prefer that pressing enter activates the OK button, no matter which field is active. I always need to press it twice. It is something that annoys me in Designer as well...
  7. How can pages be arranged correctly for a folder (for example, 6 pages)? Such as in InDesign or QuarkXPress (see example)
  8. Would like to see an option allowing the conversion of Designer files that include multiple Artboards to Publisher Pages. Currently it seems as though all Designer artboards are converted to a single giant page in Publisher. I have built a number of 24 - 60 "page" files using Designer in hopes that Publisher would have some option to see the artboards as pages. Bonus Request: Allow entering "Number of Pages in the New Document dialog, saving a step from going to the "Add Pages" dialog. thanks!
  9. Suggestion : lorsqu'on choisit "nouveau document" à l'ouverture d'Affinity Publisher, pourquoi ne pas proposer dans la boite de dialogue le nombre de pages désirées pour le nouveau doc avec une valeur à 1 par défaut.
  10. I've got file with few artboards inside, when I want to export it to pdf via export persona, generated file have one big page containing all my artboards. But when exported by file->export artboards are converted to their respective pages inside pdf. I've tried this with built-in pdf export presets and also with those created by me - result is the same. I guess that one-big-page pdfs can be sometimes desired, so it raises question - is it bug or feature? And if latter, how can I override this in export persona?
  11. Love affinity, however, can anyone suggest a workaround when your work is all in fireworks files containing pages and shared layers? I own affinity photo and designer, but both lose the pages and opens my pngs as one flat file. Maybe another interim bit of software that can do it until affinity is able? In a real pickle as my newest imac can not open my older adobe fireworks software. Not Im left to subscribe to adobe to open them and save all the pages out as layered PSDs. Not only is this tedious but if I have to subscribe to adobe it kinda renders affinity moot and I really want to keep up with affinity. I LOVE AFFINITY! help, please? I dont have publisher...maybe it can open pngs that contain shared layers and pages?
  12. can I have a project with more than one page
  13. Page names would be quite handy in the exported PDFs. Layers are already exported using their names, which is great, but for some reason artboard names are ignored in the exported file. Is there any particular reason why this is not implemented?
  14. Printing a Designer document with manually applied scaling (in our case 16% to print across two 8.5x11 pages) loses part of the printed image - at the point where the image is divided to accommodate 2 pages. Creating a PDF equivalent for printing, either via PDF export from Designer or PDF export via the Mac printing dialog results results in a full size complete image in both cases, and can be printed scaled without error from Acrobat Pro or other printing-capable PDF applications. We're attaching a Designer file that can be used to illustrate the error. Try printing with a 16% scale across 2 pages (portrait orientation) and observe missing area. Door.afdesign
  15. When I'm working on large app designs, it tends to get a lot of symbols. It would be nice to have a similar feature as on sketch, where the symbols are on a separate page. I believe this would make it easier to edit and see whats included in a symbol and not. you could then have separate pages for different states in the app, and different symbol pages for them as well.
  16. Hello there, Artboards help in organising stuff, but as soon as you have more than 5-6 artboards, things get hairy. The layers panel might have hundreds of items. Being able to organize content into "Pages", would be a huge time saver. Both for navigating a big document and for editing it. And it does not sound as something complex, from an implementation perspective.
  17. Hello! I would like to make some PDFs for downloadable printouts for a client website, but many of them are longer than one page. Is there a way to add pages in Design so that I can export a full PDF of the pages all together? Thank you! Heather
  18. I am aged 78 and have been teaching seniors how to use PC computers since 1999, the aim being to show them how to impress their friends, relatives and neighbours. One program stood out - Serif PagePlus - fantastic, and I regretted there was nothing like it for Macs. Now Serif has produced Affinity Designer, and I am giving it a trial. However, in producing a newsletter for my students, and others, to show what it can do, I am bemused [?] that I can find no templates [they would use calendars, visiting cards, greetings cards .....], no graphics [PagePlus has a fantastic collection] and no ability to prepare a document with more than one page. I am not computer illiterate, but I am getting on in years - am I missing something? Or if I am not missing anything, is there any chance of these features appearing in the near future? I do have several Mac DTPs which do all of these things, but Affinity Designer almost leaves them all for dead - almost.
  19. HI Guys I'm new to Affinity Designer and loving it. I recently retired from the design industry having used Adobe Creative Suite Since its inception and Quark Express before that, even going back as far as Aldus Pagemaker just to show my age haahaa. Can anybody tell me, is it possible to add multiple pages so I can make a booklet? Any help appreciated Jeff
  20. Hi, I am thinking of downloading AD as I believe it will give us everything we require for a new business venture - the way Photoshop and Illustrator has gone subscription based really doesn't help small start up business. A quick question anyway - can you embed fonts before creating a PDF for export? I have searched and I believe AD doesn't support this feature at the moment but I hope to be proven wrong! If you aren't able to do this in AD, can you export as PDF and open in Pages on the same computer and embed fonts there before sending to an external print company? Thanks.
  21. Hi, Export. I miss: Opportunities to export all sides but as separate files. Options for Field Area: 1. Export selected pages (pallet layers) 2. File resolution in ppi without defining size. 3. Note, currently the Presets option does not show my defined "Presets"? Why? Best Regards!
  22. Hey everyone. I need to know if there is a way to establish a page order when we export multiple artboards to a PDF. Currently, even though I set up my artboards in order, once they were exported, they actually came out in the reverse. So instead of 1 to 14, it came out 14 to 1 in page order. How can I reverse this? Is there some way to also set the order on export and is there a certain way we must lay out our multiple documents in order to get the pages right all the time? Thanks.
  23. I saw that being able to create pages is listed in the request features list, just would like to point that for this to work will also be needed to have master pages and columns and FIELDS management, for some reason indesign, as pagemaker did, only have a good columns management but for a good rich publication will be good to be able to create the entire cross and the in between fields. Just a thought :)
  24. Hi! I would like to ask for having some features similar to Freehand, with wich I used to create everything: logos, baners... and also LAYOUTS. I made even a newspaper :) I know it´s not between the core skills Freehand was designed for, but I was thankful because of its possibilities. It is the only thing I miss: A MULTIPAGE BOARD. Right now, you can create ONLY one page per document. I wonder if it will be possible to create several pages in the same document.
  25. How do I put several sheets or pages and then export as a PDF? I need to do a digital book. Como hago para poner varias hojas o páginas y luego exportar como un PDF? Yo necesito hacer un libro digital. En Corel Draw se puede hacer.
