  1. Hi, I'm a bit confused. I looked in the forum but I do not seem to find the detailed answer I was after. I apologise if it exists and I clumsily missed it. How does text overflow from text area to text area in one page? How does text overflow from text area in one page to the next page? The project is a 300-page book, approx. Now... the issue is if I use Microsoft Word, text flows automatically. But I would rather use Affinity Publisher because if I produce the book, in its entirety, I will save a few thousands in post-production from a MS Word "manuscript". I thank you all in advance for any advice, as I am fairly new to Affinity. Kind regards
  2. In Affinity Publisher Help under "Frame text" it says that a red circular icon should appear on the right side of the Text Frame when when the Text Frame is not selected and there is text overflowing. All the other indicators show up but as described in the help file but this one does not. I tested by creating Text Frames with the Text Frame Tool and filling them with text that overflowed and the red circular icon never appears. I looked at the Text Frame Panel and did find an option for turning it off. So, I think it is a bug. I am a very light user of Affinity Publisher so this may not be a big deal but it looked like have the visible warning of overflow without having to select the text frame would be very useful. Mac mini M1 (2020) 16GB Monterey 12.6.2 Thanks Edit: Did more testing. This situation only appeared when editing a Version 1 document in Version 2. It does not occur if you create the document in Version 2. Adjusting title to reflect this.
  3. Hello world, My last week's Bug is not yet answered upon, today I stumbled accross an even weirder behaviour which I captured on Video. AP 1.7.1 duplicated a large chunk of text at the very bottomn of my text frames and reflows it into the next frame if I create one. This is reproducible on frames where it appears, and no changing the text / editing / re-formatting that i do removes this problem. The original and duplicated text are in symc, If I change it it changes in both frames … Please help – text management should be more relilable in an Publisher … Thanks, --Thomas Bildschirmvideo aufnehmen 2019-08-15 um 18.18.26.mov
  4. Is there a way to remove overflowing text from a publication? I am splitting a very large document in chapters by doing a save-as and deleting superfluous pages. But then every last page has a text-frame with overflowing text, containing all the rest of the text...
  5. Not sure if this is a bug or a user issue..sometimes the red flag indicating that there is more text in a text box appears and sometimes it does not. See video that show the red flag appearing with one text box but not another. Text box.mov
  6. Feature requests 1. Stop Tab Ruler The current stop tab panel is rather frustrating, and often these things need to be designed rather than calculated. The same sort of thing as in Word, Illustrator, InDesign, Quark Xpress 2. Text box overflow Currently the text in a box flows out of the bottom of a text box. I read the reasoning why, however at concept stage (especially when using dummy text) I find myself having to delete lots and lots of Latin text, only to have to re-paste it in a few moments later once I've changed font size / box size etc. 3. Text box linking It would be really great if there was an option so that you could choose if the text flowed out of the bottom of the text box. Likewise the option of linking / flowing content between text boxes would be super-helpful. I know that these may appear more like options for a DTP package rather than illustration program, however there's often need, especially web concepts. Thanks
