Whenever I'm using Outline mode, it's always to trace an image. I prefer to use Outline mode because the "visible stroke" is as fine as it can be, and there are no styles applied (i.e. no fills, strokes, gradients etc). In my opinion (and my usecase of course), having the "Outline" view mode seems incomplete without being able to set an image layer as a background. I don't think every image layer should be visible, but there should be a way to change an image layer's view setting to "Traceable" (or something similar) so it is visible even when in Outline mode. It makes sense for this "traceable" layer to be slightly opaque just so the outline can be clearly seen on top. The opacity could be set on the layer, or it could be set as a global setting (whatever's easier).

I would like the ability to lock or turn on the ability to keep an image object (or any object for that matter) from being affected by the Outline mode. This is incredibly useful when tracing out objects and they have fills applied while your using boolean functions to customize shapes (while retaining the stacking order of specific objects) or to remove the appearance of objects momentarily to trace the image. Sometimes you have nested layers and need to get to them quickly and cannot target them (or spend ages locating them in the layers panel) unless outline mode.

It is great that we can convert fonts to curves (or outlines for those coming from Illustrator) but when viewing fonts in outline mode both regular editable fonts (not converted to curves) and fonts that have been converted to curves both appear the same. In Illustrator when you view a document in outline mode, fonts that are no longer editable appear as outlines or curves but fonts that are still editable appear as solid black. I'm not saying that Affinity should do it the same way as Illustrator but I do think it would be beneficial to have someway to convey to the user that the fonts are either editable or not (when using the outline view). As it is, the only way to see if a font is editable or not is to click on it. If there is a way to distinguish between editable and non-editable fonts in outline view now, could someone please let me know, thanks!
