  1. in Affinity publisher when I have multiple artboards and then I select an object outside of them an outline surrounding all the artboards is shown, how can I hide this outline so it doesn't show up anymore? check the attached image below note: this doesn't happen when am using Affinity designer.
  2. Hi, Is there a way to outline / fill a stroke? Thanks.
  3. Hello, First, I want to warn that English is not my main language, so sorry if I don't express myself well. Since the arrival of version 1.9, I have a rather annoying bug with the vectorization of outlines (see photos attached). I didn't have this problem on version 1.8.5. I use this tool a lot so for the moment I have to work with the old version but I can no longer open my projects created with version 1.9.x. I have tried on several other PCs / Macs and the problem is the same. The bug only concerns versions since 1.9. Do you have a solution to this problem? Will it be fixing soon?
  4. Hello Affinity members, I am creating assets for a game in Affinity Designer 1.7.3.481. For that I am using isometric 2:1 grid. In the editor everything looks fine. But after I export it, the resulting PNG has a strange outline or shadow around it. Please see picture attached. This is a 512x256 PNG, the outline is there no matter the export resolution. How do I get rid of this? It looks awful in the game. EDIT: I downloaded latest Affinity Designer version and the problem persists.
  5. Hi, I've included bleed on it and there's still an outline on the image. I also had the same issue with my Affinity Designer Ipad. How can I remove the white outline? Green Gardener.pdf
  6. Hi, i assume a bug: when you use a vector shape, fill it with white, add a black outside outline (layer effects) reduce the fill opacity The fill gets darker and finally black (not expected). Expected is fill gets transparent, but stays white. Instead, it gets the color of the outline. When reaching 0% opacity, fill gets transparent (expected), but the outline is extended to the inside (wrong). Spotted by my son in 1.8.5 and 1.9.0.932 Example file shows two linked vector shapes, one using stroke behaving correctly, one wit
  7. Can someone tell me if this software already has the option "Outline" ( see the video) ? I worked with the "trial version" but was not. Thank you!
  8. Hello everyone, Lately I've been working on many grayscale line charts for a research paper and I'm finding one thing very frustrating. See my Screen capture >> When a line is selected their isn't any indication of what color it is? In this case I have the line selected and would like to find its grayscale level in the palette. Is this possible? Thanks
  9. Adding an outline to an image is relatively straightforward: using the Effects Panel. However, some Strange Behaviour has been noticed: I opened a 16-bit Tif file (from a Scanner), which opens into the Photo Persona. An outline (inner) can be applied: I initially opened a TIF file (from a scanner), and applied an Inner Outline: Using same file, after being sent to the Develop Persona for some adjustments: still behaving itself: The same file, sent to the Develop Persona, then to the Tone Mapping Persona. This is where the problem lies: Opps!! Now, why?? In Frustrati
  10. Hey guy, I have a shape with no fill and I want the stroke to be shape. So I use "Expand Stroke". The issue is that when I do this AD doesn't directly convert the stroke as it is but cuts off a corner. Look at the screenshots. Maybe you can give me hint why this is happening. EDIT: Maybe I should say, that the strokes are aligned to the inside of the shape
  11. Following a recent upgrade to Mac OS Big Sur 11.0.1 on the mac and upgrade to 1.8.6 of Publisher. When attempting to use an outline on an image using layer effects, the gradient colour stops cannot be selected properly. Unable to switch from one end to the other end of the gradient colour circles. Shutting down publisher then restarting sometimes works but only once or twice. In the image attached the left colour circle is active. unable to click on or select any of the other 2 circles. I have since been able to continue by opening the document on another mac using version 1.8 and Ca
  12. Hello, While I'm still learning how to use Affinity Designer I noticed that the Stroke's Outline is always on the center. 1 - I would like to change the Outline to Inside or Outside - How can I do that ? What I mean is to make it NOT centered based on the blue stroke line, but either outside or inside of it's outline. 2 - I would like to make the rectangle have sharp corners (like the example on the left) - How can I do that? I've tried the Corner option, it seems like it's on zero, but still rounded. Thanks ahead!
  13. Hi Guys, I want to design a T-Shirt print. It should be a big blob or splash and the outlines of our Logo should be left clear inside the blob. I tried to create a mask with the shape of the logo outlines, but all It does is that the outlines get the colours and the texture of the splash. But ich want the splash with the Logo cut out in the middle of it. Has anybody an idea? Kind regards Florian
  14. Hi, in Outline view mode it is sometime quite difficult to sellect curves by clicking on them. I guess the bigger the zoom is, the harder task it is. It takes quite long time to find the right place where the click-sellection works. See my attachement: try to sellect the red head clicking on the curve within the blue area. In Vector mode sellection works well. Click-sellect-test.afdesign
  15. Dear Affinity community, I have a mystery that maybe one of you might help me to resolve ! I need to print a black and white vector drawing on a booklet. I made it with multiple black and white shapes or lines with Affinity Designer. When I print it directly from Affinity Designer (with file > print) it looks great : the vector lines look very sharp and the white color from my design is replaced by the color of my printing paper : this is exactly what I want ! I don't even have to export it first ! The problem comes with Affinity Publisher. When I insert this drawing in
  16. Hello, I have been wondering and trying to get a constant Blur around the sharp edges of a photo. I found tutorials for Photoshop but I couldn't figure out how to apply that on Affinity Photo. It used to be that the live filter layers could be edited by creating a mask but that worked really bad to not anyway and I am wondering if there is a way to have the outlines of a photo extremely blurred, so that it fades away? Thanks.
  17. Affinity Publisher newbie here. After working in Publisher with an image that had changed from "image" to "pixel", I found I was no longer able to draw a thin rule around it in the way it can be done with a text frame or image frame. There's always the Outline layer effect, but it does the job only partway. With Outline there don't seem to be controls for how the corners are drawn—they are always rounded. But is there a way to alter the corners using some other controls in the program?
  18. Hey, first post here, as i could not find any solution to this. I am trying to put a text into this bear shape so that it will fill the shape inside, just like the one on the left. I feel like it should be straightforward, but I can't seem to work it out. Since it stems from a picture, I was unable to convert it to text frame in designer. I have all 3 programs available.
  19. Hi, I have create this illustration with both vector and pixel layers. I want to add a black / white outline to it. So far I tried to look for a way I could offset the path but I could not find anything. I also tried to united/add all items but that options is not even available.
  20. When I export a GIF with transparency, Outline layer effect become hollow. This seems to happens on all Affinity, all platforms.
  21. Hello, There seems to be a glitch with the inner glow effect (edit: and with the outline effect). This glitch seems to at least specifically affect shapes with lower opacity. By viewing the 8 snapshots below, you will see that setting even only 0.1 radius to the effect results in changes to the whole shape instead of affecting only its borders. This happens no matter the blend mode, and no matter the intensity (although the effect is more pronounced with higher intensity. (Pictures 1,2,3,4 are in Multiply blend mode ; Pictures 5,6,7,8 are ine Normal blend mode). I am working on
  22. Hello, I have been asking for this option for years, it is something so basic in vectorization software, but here it simply is not. I will leave my link from here in the community where I originally requested it years ago, there is even video right there and some explanations, thanks.
  23. Hello. I am working on a large file which contains many shapes which share their borders. Only the outline will be printed (there is no fill to any of the shapes). It is very important that two shapes sharing path overlap precisely otherwise printed stroke will not have the same thickness/shape. How can I shape the path of two elements at the same time (so the path stays overlapping)? I know I could break the path of one shape, remove overlapping piece and only modify the remaining path of the second shape. This however takes many steps to accomplish (not a problem for a
  24. Hi! I am having a problem while trying to separate (remove) the background from the photo. After masking the subject and replacing a transparent (black in masking) background with a fill layer my selection (in this case me) seems to have a white glowing outline. In the picture below you can see it around the black coat and it is really visible when putting a black solid fill under the masked selection. You can see that in the refine section window the "glowing outline" is not visible, only once the mask is applied. Do you know how to fix/remove this issue? I haven't had it with my previou
  25. Hello I attach a screenshot of what happens now using Tone Mapping. There has been a tendency for this kind of halo over several versions but it seems to have become emphasisied with the latest update. It makes the Tone Mapping facility almost unusable because there seems no way of avoiding or correcting it. Apart from this and some minor quirks the latest version is a joy to use Michae
