  1. One thing that always bothered me about the adobe suite was the lack of options for organizing typography so I had to look through lots of fonts to find the one I was looking for if I didn't remember the name of it off the to of my head. It would be awesome if fonts could be organized into folders of my choice so that I could put decorative fonts in one folder, favorite fonts in another, sans serif, serif etc... Having an organized font system would improve my workflow immensely as a graphic designer. As it is now with illustrator picking fonts is a nightmare. (All this would be in the font drop down.)
  2. Currently I've been Downloading Fonts And Other assets onto my mac so That I can have a wider arsenal of resources. I was just doing a design for one of my friends and realized I couldn't find the font I just downloaded, I Thought it'd be amazing if there was little folders of some sort within the app that'll differentiate the downloaded "user" fonts, and the fonts that The computer you are using comes with, for better organization. even though i've never seen this feature on any other apps or software, is there a way you could implement this?
  3. Affinity is a good photo editing program but it does not include any functionality for organizing, tagging, or easily re-titling images. That's OK, it is a specialized program for editing, not organizing. I was wondering if any Affinity users have recommendations for photo organization programs. Bonus points if they are free or lo-cost. I used to use Google's old program Picassa, which I liked a lot, but I have a new laptop and it is no longer supported. I take a lot of nature photos and I like to be able to record things such as what species I observed, where it was, what it was doing, and other notes along with my images. I don't know if this is an appropriate forum for this question, but I figured it was worth a shot! Thanks, Alexis
  4. This will be my first post! - I'm a new user, a hobbyist with a newfound passion for graphic design thanks to your applications. I've been working with Affinity now for about 4 months. I'm in love with this program. It's gotten to the point where I've begun to plan porting projects from other programs into your platform. That being said, I'd like to talk a little about the main screen. I would like to suggest an option for a folder view. I like to keep things tightly organized. My Affinity iCloud folder is very tightly organized, but it doesn't show up in my iPad app. I've set my default save location as my iCloud account. I've noticed that, when I create a file, play around a bit, and delete it, it will remain in my iCloud affinity folder. So, after playing around a bit, I often find a bunch of my "junk" files laying around un organized and untitled. I'd been learning the basics of graphic design with Graphic app, and while it is not as powerful as Affinity, it had a really nice home screen, and the file management was spot on. I took a screen shot of it, and wanted to put it here. When I see this screenshot, I get excited imagining what it would be like if my Affinity app's main screen looked and behaved similiarly. Is there any hope for this kind of option? I mean, I know some people like the masonry/wall scrolling feel, but personally. I'd love to be able to turn on an option, and keep things in folders etc. That's it ladies and gents. Just some folder action. Really into this app! Thank you so much for everything you've done. I have spent hours and hours lying in bed or on park benches drawing, and tweaking, and sketching, and building, and I plan on spending many more hours doing just the same. CHEERS!
  5. I have just organized all my (raster) brushes into custom categories, but now I'm stuck on how to reorganize my custom categories so that they aren't all randomly displayed in the drop down list. Anyone know what I'm missing here, surely this is something one can do?
  6. Hello Peoples, Hello Team ! Well today i want to raise a point that we often skip as we move on to more cool and nice Affinity stuffs and that point is: Layer color setup ! Yes often want to make better organization of our layers and marking them with appropriated colors (personal way to code this and that) is often what we tend to do but ! The actual way to do that is a bit of ... not as bad but ... too long and too burried/hidden : Right Click on the layer - scroll down to properties then proceed ! Now let's think of it in a different way. (that's the purpose of this suggestion). I believe that putting a clickable square or round button in front of the layer (blank in the beginning) that we can just click to reveal the same drop down thing which i think should eventually show more options than just color and name). After we do what necessary, that button or square thing would then switch from its blank/empty display to the selected color and the layer name would also update when we close it by clicking out of that drop down stuff. Being able to lock it should be great too ! Also i see that function to mark a layer with a color is missing on APhoto (recent beta) while it is something important. Well that what i drop here as suggestion and i believe some other have though or asked the same. Please guys may you think this is important or just useful please drop your comment with more details or even a drawing of how you think it could look like (to help the dev team) or just click and like this topic. Blessings !
  7. Hello People ! i'm just installing and testing the recent Beta of APhoto and i can just say OKAY IT WORKS REALLY OKAY ! But ... because there is still a But ... i think Blending modes needs to be arranged or organized according to what they are intended to do. What i mean is simply represented in the attached capture. Well i know this is from another software but also it is not bad to copy (and making better of it) something that already exist. Hope this won't bring up a long discussion or a troll in here but also to every one who ever think this can/could be a nice thing please leave your inputs to help the devs understand it and maybe implement it. Blessings !
  8. I’m about to adopt the Affinity suite of apps for iPad and Mac OS. (Photo and Designer) I am a heavy Lightroom user. What are people using to do this function if you are not using Adobes Creative Cloud? Ideas?
  9. With the amount of awesome brushes being created for the community, it is becoming clear that the need to organize and separate out favourite brushes is the logical next step. Not sure how best to do this, and maybe just concentrating on the brushes panel for now, as opposed to an "app wide" solution might be the way to go. A simple "save as favourite" system would be a good start, eventually with the ability to move, group and reorganize in one panel or even multiple panels or panel sub structure for various workflows - texturing, blocking, detailing, dots etc....?
