  1. Hey everyone, This is a bit niche and I have not checked if a topic like this already exists. What I'm looking for is a compatibility guide with workarounds for creating macros. For the past few days I have been trying to create macros but keep getting stuck because its so unbelievably cumbersome. One big PIA is the level selection. It’s a mess with all its confirmation prompts – just select the damn level I clicked on already! Anyway, I already got used to that by now, that’s not the issue. These two are my current questions, and I haven’t found a solution for it, maybe some of you have ideas? Creating a fill layer and changing its colour It's just not possible, you'll get this warning and the colour will be reset: Select all (as in an unspecified number) layers (to group them or similar) There's no keyboard shortcut or menu item that does this, as far as I know. Anyway, for some reason I didn't notice the option in the menu. It even has a shortcut! 🤦‍♂️ Solution: Select → Select all Layers or ⌥⌘A Do you have similar questions? Is there maybe already a place where questions like these get asked and answered? Does someone know how to get these operations to work or how to work around them? Have a nice weekend Dennis
  2. I can't seem to be able to split text in Affinity Designer? From what I can gather it's only shapes that can be divided? Is there a way this can be achieved? I've attached an example that I had to call my boyfriend and ask him to do this on Adobe Illustrator for me as I couldn't achieve this design like I was hoping to on Affinity. Is there any sign that this could be a feature in the near future?
  3. I was in the process of adding multiple layers of curves via the OPERATIONS ADD button, then the ADD process bar shows and seems to be busy but never completes the task. Also, there is a visual "distortion" (in the "i" of "life". The program seems to be frozen without any responses when prompted.
  4. Looking for help... I'm still learning how to use Affinity Designer and am taking online classes. The task is to take 2 objects and merge them into 1 object by using the Add feature under Operations. For some reason it's not working. The toolbar items are not grayed out before I select my 2 objects and when I try to click the button, nothing is happening. I also cannot seem to customize my toolbar... that option is grayed out. Any ideas??
  5. I have a script with several letters that I need to combine and then stroke, I must combine them or else the stroke is overlapping other letters and does not achieve the desired effect. The problem I am having when Combining or Adding from the OPERATIONS tools the center of the Loops in the letters aren't being knocked out, except for the "o" in the word "Lord". I am stuck and I can not figure out what I am doing wrong. Please Help :-) Thank You! Please take a look at the screenshots below...
  6. In this short tutorial I demonstrate the Geometry operations (add, subtract, intersect, divide, combine) in Affinity Designer 1.6.0 (destructively and non-destructively) with some samples. Keep on drawin' Norbert
  7. When doing operations, please keep the layer name of the bottom layer. Currently all names are lost.
  8. Just had quite a few questions about making boolean operations non destructive as we included it in the feature video. It's just a question of holding alt when you apply the operation, as shown here:
