Hi, I took advantage of Black Friday sales to purchase DxO's Nik collection. I followed the installation instructions for installing the plugins into Affinity Photo. They show up Preferences > Photoshop Plugins, "Allow 'Unknown' plugins to be used" is checked, "/" is in Plugin Support Folders and "Authorize Global" is greyed out. When I select a pixel layer in the Photo Persona I can select only one of the plugins that appears in Filters > Plugins > Nik Collection, "HDR Efex Pro 2". All the others are greyed out and cannot be clicked, not even the two that have status "Working." HDR Efex Pro 2 did run when I clicked it. I am running Affinity Photo 1.6.7 on macOS 10.13.6 on a 2018 MacBook Pro 15" with Touch Bar & Touch ID. The pixel layer is "Background," generated by the Develop Persona. The file that was developed was a Nikon RAW (NEF) created on a D7200 using Adobe RGB. The Develop Persona uses the ROMM RGB profile for output. Neither Lightroom nor Photoshop is installed on the machine.

Hi all, I successfully installed Nik plugins, but the colour of the photo is so strange (Viveza2). Please see below... Original photos are in regular colour and white balance was set to be correct (see the right down corner one). Who do you know what happens and how can I solve it? Many thanks. PS: the Nik collection is from Google free.

Hello. I have noticed quite a large color shift when I use Nik collection in Affinity Photo. Images are desaturated about 20-30 % once displayed in Nik collection. My workflow is - Capture One, edit in - AF, Nik collection. I've tried all kind of things, nothing seems to help. It started about 3-4 weeks ago. Everything was fine before, except Veveza, but that is known the issue I suppose. Examples included

I just downloaded the Affinity Photo trial and so far like what I see, but there is one little problem I encountered after installing the Nik plugins. I am still using the Google Nik version and have not upgraded to the DXO version (in case that may be a factor in the problem). All the plugins work well except for Viveza 2. When I go to that from Affinity Photo, there is a bad color shift in the image to the point that the plugin is not useful. Is there a way to correct that or is it because I am using the old Google Nik set and would have to upgrade to the DXO version, which I am not planning to do at this time. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks. Jim Lawrence

Hello. Is there a way to use Nik sharper for raw files within Affinity Photo? Is yes, does it work better than original photo effect? How to use HDR plugin with more than one image?

Following recent posts on Super-Resolution, and Nik HDR, I thought I would try Nik HDR Efex Pro on a single image. I had an image created using PhotoAcute trial on a burst-mode set of images to create super-resolution image. It worked (leaving a watermark), but the image seemed to have lost some detail in the shadows. See image 1, which is a full-resolution, cropped image from the PhotoAcute .dng output, developed and exported as .jpg.. I then applied Nik HDR Efex Pro to it and got this: And, for comparison, I used Affinity New HDR Stack on the single PhotoAcute dng output: The two HDR images are a great improvement on the untreated original showing detail in the shadow area. However the Affinity New HDR Stack took an age to process, at least 30 minutes and maybe longer (I went off and cooked and ate lunch). My previous experience with Affinity New HDR Stack has not had such long times, although the file sizes had been smaller (Super-Resolution enlarges image by 200%). Has anyone else had such a wait? John

My Nik plugins are greyed out on some images but not on others. I recently scanned some old B&W negs to JPEG images and was trying to use my installed Nik plugins in Affinity Photo but they are greyed out. Other JPEG images I have in my folders work fine and all the Nik plugins are available for both B&W and Colour images. It seems that all my recent scans will not work with Nik plugins. I presume I've done something wrong but I've no idea what that is. The only thing I've noticed that seems new is that when I open those problematic B&W scans in Affinity Photo I get a window with a message saying 'Assigned Profile - Affinity Photo assigned your working profile, (Greyscale D50) to this unprofiled document' which disappears after a short while. I don't really know what this means or if it's significant in relation to the Nik Plugins issue. Can anyone help? Thanks!

Can I use NIK filters as live filters like in PS where if you work on a smart layer, Nik shows as a smart filter.

I have installed Nik plugins for the Mac version of Photo and my preview screen on opening any plugin has a horrible colour cast and desaturated image. Has anyone else experienced this, and if so, is there a solution. Please note that the same install has worked fine in Lightroom and Photoshop. Thanks, Peter

AP has started crashing when I use either of the sharpening tools in the NIK collection. If I just go there, make an adjustment and then come back quickly, it's fine. But if I play with the sliders for a couple minutes, AP crashes. (There's a Windows message that says AP has stopped working.) I first noticed it a couple days ago and it happens every time if I give it just a minute or so. I use several of the NIK tools regularly and this only happens with the sharpeners. I'm using Windows 8.1 and AP 1.6.1.93. Is this a known problem? (I couldn't find any posts about it, but I also couldn't find any on the NeatImage crashes until I asked here and someone responded.)

hello all, anyone knows how to use the nik hdr efex pluing within affinity photo? in order to create a true hdr image, multiple exposures of the same pic are needed. the problem is, how can they passed simultaneously from affinity photo to the plugin? the plugins menu gets grayed if more than one layer is selected. this prevents passing more than one image to nik hdr efex. i only could use it outside AP until now, making it load multiple tiff or jpeg files. maybe i am missing something obvious... any suggestion would be appreciated. thanks, stefano

Hello everybody! First of all excuse me if my english is not very good, I am a not native speaker. The last day I planned to add the Google Nix Collection to my newly adquired Affinity Photo. But now I have a problem with the size of the window. Everything appears very, very small in it (although the window size is quite normal) and is very hard to me to see actons and words, and whatever inside the pannels. Could anybody help me, please? I urgently need to know how to resize that window(s) in order to see it(them) in a normal size! thanks a lot!

I know it's available as a plugin but, now that google have confirmed no more development of nik collection, what chance/ value in obtaining it to extend AP and/or to maintain the tools and perhaps tightly integrate? Seems to me to have value as a tool set, as a positive means to bring more users to AP, and makes business sense both to Serif and to Google (who can only otherwise disappoint current Nik users, of both the paid variety and those who got it for free) - why let it atrophy...... Regards.

If I open a JPG image (portrait mode) in Affinity Photo & then select Filters - Plugins - Nik Collection - Color Efex Pro 4 the image appears in landscape mode! I have tried rotating the image prior to applying the filter but it makes no difference. It works fine in Photoshop CC 2017 but not in Affinity. Any suggestions?

Hi, I recently installed the trial version of Affinity photo along with the google nik plugin. My issue is that when another user logs in and starts uses Affinity photo they have to re-add the plugin. Once the plugin is added for that user on that Mac they won't have to re-add it. We currently have 6 PC's with the trial version on and if multiple users use the application and move around it becomes quite a bit of hassle to re-add the plugin over and over. Is there anyway for the plugin to be added for every user that logs into that computer? Thanks, Will
