  1. After being inspired by forum member Graphic&Design, I thought I might start a thread to encourage people to make and share their art based around a particular theme. Not certain how much interest there might be, but hopefully a few of you will join in! :) The challenge: create something using Affinity's products based on the theme of Autumn/Fall. Your art can be as simple or as complex as you want. It could be a single vector leaf or an entire forest. Perhaps a hat & scarf or a pair of wellies to represent the changing weather. A rosy red apple or a squirrel with some nuts. These are only suggestions. It's very open to interpretation. Whatever autumn means to you! And remember, it's not about who's best. It's about creating art and having fun. So, let's see some pics!
  2. Hi All Finally! completed the first artwork originally for #INKTOBER 2016 (Twelve) and then recreated in Affinity Designer/Photo and now looking forward to the next one!. Original file size 600mm (300dpi) 12 additional 250x310mm (300dpi) for each creature
  3. A post on Facebook prompted me to make this image. Tutorialmeister Carl Surry posted a link to this tutorial by Michael Wilson: Here's my effort: and the figure I started off in AP with a couple of stock images, the background by J C Gellidon from Unsplash and the figure by Radu Florin from Pexels. The 'portal' began as an ellipse; actually a circle which I deformed with the Perspective Tool to make it appear parallel to the shop fronts. The flare is a trapezium rotated onto its side. Some clipping, masking, gradients, transparency (in Designer) produced the lighting effect, and I added a pixel layer to paint a few highlights on the right-hand side. Here's the aphoto file: AlleyPortal-000bSMALL.afphoto
  4. Really happy with the speed of Pub 1.7.3 on this album cover for the Steam Kittens new release, although I started off the digi painting in Clip studio paint, I did a fair chunk in Pub using studio link photo using Frankentoon and Daub brushes plus some vector colour overlays - did need to use Illustrator to distort the SK logo and the colour wheel around the image but really impressed with the speed of using studio link on tonnes of layers
  5. MP4 and AVI not supported. Have included Utube link REBOOT1.avi

  7. Graphic Novel skill set begins. I have written a sci-fi novel. I am learning Affinity Designer and Affinity Publisher on my own, I will attempt Book 1 as a Graphic Novel in a series. I may try 50 pages at first, as one guy, no staff my way way, I'd say at least 2 years. But I have kept at this and I can hopefully do it one day. This art is just me practicing, all original, will be the way I go it alone. Although send money if you wish. He he he. You people at Affinity have great products as far as I am concerned, I need to get up to speed, going fast enough though for now. This is not the novel but a learning lesson.

  10. I call this "Dream in a Bottle." Wanted to practice on surrealism, shading and lighting and get the feel of the new "edit in photo/designer" feature, passing back and forth between AD and AP. The feature is so nice but I did find a bonafide bug. After several passes back and forth between AD and AP, the files start to corrupt and the UI and the thumbnail windows of the layers panel start doing weird things like vector shapes turn into Text icons, etc. I can reproduce this problematic bug every time after about 5 or 6 bounces back and forth.
  11. Here are some screenshots of a graphic pitch I have worked on. I used Affinity Designer to create graphic labels and texturing maps. Photo was used for some simple easy colour correction. A colleague of mine asked me what is on fire because of the orange sparkles I guess it was the computer during rendering. Then I used the renders to create a demo animation. Unfortunately this project was not developed into anything real but at least I learned some new things Watermarked demo music is from Musicbed - https://www.musicbed.com/songs/seeds/36381 Madmonq_Animation.mp4
  12. What can you make with these apps Animation pro, LumaFusion, Stop Motion, Affinity Design, Affinity Photo ? https://youtu.be/2CL8Q9UB6uM C9B24405-361F-4456-9E74-295235B53DE5.MP4
  13. Been experimenting a bit with some brushes in Photo and wanted to share. For my vector piece that I cleaned up I used Inkscape and Designer to clean up the raster sketch I originally made in Photo. Really digging the new sculpt mode for the Pencil tool. It was really useful for removing unnecessary nodes and adjusting shapes. The Kim Possible inspired characters are an old Photoshop file I decided to clean up and finalize in Photo.
  14. Feline egg — cartoony 3D artwork (concept: Marija Tiurina) Post-processed / fine-adjusted using Affinity Photo.
  15. I used the new great Isometric function at Affinity Designer and created this simple 2.5D scene for the presentation of the box design. I also used Affinity Photo for the final effect and light settings.
  16. My latest poem Phoenix Rising using Affinity Publisher and Affinity Photo to create the layout. I used PagePlus X9 to create the title using filter fx and preset styles and exported it as a 32bit PNG. Then I placed the image onto the page in Affinity Publisher, although the colours are slightly different.
  17. Sundays are always good for experimentation and blowing off some creative steam, without client deadlines and briefs. So for this Sunday I created a poster for one of my favorite Electronic Music producers: Chicane. Chicane has released a few albums that have been my creative companions for many many years ad I always go back to them when inspiration is needed. Here you can see the poster and some screenshots with details. Got any questions? Let me know. I would be more than happy to answer them Cheers from Greece Stratos.
  18. Hello Everyone. I am Stratos from Greece and these are a couple of abstract posters I created in order to decorate our offices. So far I have created 5 and these are the first two that will go out to be printed. Fan fact: almost half of all posters were designed on an iPad while on the go ;-) Love Affinity software so far and we are transitioning from Adobe and Corel to Affinity, fast and surely :) Kind Regards Stratos Agiani
  19. Downloaded the 1.7 update last night and had a quick play, really liking the new feature additions. Some of them might've been handy for this project I've been working on recently, ah well:)
  20. Hello everyone, my name is Andrew Salfinger, and I’m a freelance graphic designer based in Perth Australia. I recently finished uni studying for my Bachelor of Design along with using Affinity + iPad for all my design work since 2015 (outside of After Effect and 3D work which I use my Mac + iPad for) I wanted to share the work I made with Affinity + iPad Pro and showcase them here. I hope you like my work and can’t wait to get feedback from you all.\ You can check out my work at www.andrewsalfinger.com You can also find me online: Twitter: www.twitter.com/SalfingerAndrew Instagram www.instagram.com/salfingerandrew/ Latest work: Thank you for your time and I hope you have a great day.
  21. A commissioned map, drawn in AP, with design elements from AD added.
  22. Hi everyone, I want to share my very positive experience working with Affinity Designer and Photo. For the past 4 months I have been working on designing large booths, walls, signage and other printed materials for a huge congress with over 30 000 participants. We had tight production deadlines from our external suppliers plus I had to design all the proposals, manage communication and do several revision rounds and after that export print data. All went very well thanks to Affinity Designer and Photo. These programs handled big oversized artboards, gigabytes of TIFF images and export so smoothly I couldn't believe it. The best thing I liked was having one document per one lounge with many many different artboards which gave me flexibility to make a huge wall and small flyer with the same design in one application. Also the ability to export print ready PDFs and some JPGs in Export Persona was a huge time saver! Exporting 2400DPI PDFs was just smooth. Most of the work was done in Affinity, very very small percentage in Illustrator and 3D stuff in Blender. Here are photos and renders of some of the things which were produced. To me this was quite a successful journey. Thanks Affinity team for great products and keep going!
