  1. When I move documents to a project folder, I can usually move one but when I try to move the second one it crashes.
  2. Updated: Fixed, see last line. Hello, Odd behavior experienced: In a particular file I can no longer move-clone items. To be specific, I mean when using the Move tool and you press Ctrl and then drag an item. The expected behavior is to have the item move-cloned. My resulting behavior is the item is simply moved. The erratic behavior is experienced with many kinds of item: tried with curve, shape and pixel. Only in this document. Affinity Photo 1.7.0.367 on Windows 10 Update: found that I had a document-wide pixel selection ongoing (marching ants). Ctrl-D to deselect and now the Move tool works as expected.
  3. Windows 10 Home 1809, Publisher 1.7.0.227. I'm not sure if this behaviour is correct or not - so I'm not sure if it's a bug or not - but I'll try and explain what's happening. I can create some Artistic Text and use the Transparency Tool to give it a transparent gradient. All well and good. Then I can create another bit of Artistic Text elsewhere the page. However, the transparency gradient of the first bit of text has been copied over to the new text but in exactly the same place as it is in the first text, which means that the transparency gradient no longer covers the second text. Is this expected behaviour? It took me a while to figure out what was happening when I first saw this. I've attached a GIF to show what I mean.
  4. When I have a lot of nodes in a small space, I am finding it very hard to move a specific node. A lot of times i go to drag a node and it catches the smooth tool right next to it instead. It would be nice if I could use the select tool to select the node or nodes I need to move and then (with move selected) drag from anywhere on the canvas to move the nodes in what ever direction I am swiping. I figured this would already be an option since very often there are multiple nodes in a small space and you cant zoom in too far to separate them because while zoomed, you cant move the node very far but I cant seem to find a way. When I try to drag from anywhere, it ends up selecting a different object instead (I have to drag from directly on the node which means I have to be zoomed in too far to move it where I need).
  5. When an object is selected it has the blue transformation handles. When moving an object with the keyboard arrows, or nudging it, is there a way to have those handles disappear so that I can see finer details about where I'm placing the object? I feel like this functionality was working when I first installed Affinity, but now it seems to have disappeared. Thanks!
  6. Hello! Often there can be the situation that you want to move (more exact: translate) selected object(s) by some distance given by other existing objects/snappable targets on the artboard. I'd like to propose a very simple way to achieve this - by being able to use the Center as a handle. See attached image. Maybe holding CTRL while dragging the Center could invoke this 'locked' mode. Most 3d graphics apps have an Axis tripod (= the analogy to the Center here), and in some (Cinema 4D, Rhino, Softimage, ...) the axis can be used in the exact same way. It's called "temporary pivot", or "working pivot". Very useful! Example: imagine a ladder, with equidistant rungs. One rung is missing, and you want to copy the neighbour rung to fill the hole. How would you get the right snapping distance quickly? With this method, it'd be simple. The Center, by now, is used to 'assist' Rotate and Scale. It could easily be utilized to assist with Move, too. Hope it's clear. Thanks for considering!
  7. Two problems that, for use of Affinity Designer in technical illustration, I would like to see resolved: 1) What is the best way to scale (resize) an object, say up or down a certain percentage? Do you have to do the math and enter new values in the width/height edit boxes in the Transform studio panel? 2) What is the best way to move an object a certain distance in a certain direction? Again, do you need to do the addition/subtraction and enter the calculated values in the X/Y boxes of the Transform panel? Thanks for assistance!!
  8. Hi, I use every day this app on my iPad Pro and I love it but I have a problem: impossible to move little object with no zoom. The app auto select the anchor point the object and resize or distort object and I can’t move. Is it possible to disable the anchor point or reduce the auto-selection? in this video I can move only with zoom thanks 2CCF06F1-8F08-4AD7-AD4F-3564F3285E8D.MP4
  9. Problem: With my fire fighting pre-plan work I need to carefully draw one of 4 colors over top of property images from Google Earth. I also need to select various pre-made objects like Gas and Propane symbols located on 40 layers. 1 - When I try to precisely begin to draw a yellow fence line for instance, too often the tiny pause I make while carefully positioning my stylus gets interpreted as an automatic color picker and my yellow color disappears. I have to reselect the particular yellow all over again, and again. Very frustrating and needlessly slows my work down! 2. A similar thing happens when I select an object on a layer like a fire hydrant to relocate. Suddenly a whole different layer might get selected and moved accidentally which can ruin the map. Ultimate Fix: Create a preference menu where each of the tools can have that option turned off, or the hold and pause time for auto/option can be adjusted Easy Fix: I'm sure this can be done in just an hour or two and would make a massive improvement to the interface. Just add one preference for now globally where a user can select how long or short the delay is which evokes the auto/option for Affinity in general. A fast or slow slider or just a drop down- 0.1 sec, 0.2 sec... The auto/option trigger delay is already part of your programing. You just need to add a small routine where the user can change the timing. cheers and I really hope this happens soon. Affinity is perfect otherwise! btate
  10. I love the little dimension lines that pop up when you move a feature to show you how close/far the feature is from the edge of your document. This is a very small problem, but in close quarters, the handle you use to rotate the feature you are moving can obscure the dimension line.
  11. Hello, I miss option to move/shift image in lens correction options of develop persona. When I fix rotation and vertical or horizontal distortions, I want to scale image up as less as possible to remove empty areas caused by corrections. And when I scale the image, it can't be moved relative to canvas. Something like shift-x, shift-y would be nice to have. Miro
  12. I'm not sure if this has been requested or not. In fact it might already be in Affinity Designer but I couldn't find an option to move an object from one layer to another (without changing its position). I looked for it in the beta as well and I couldn't find it. If it is there could someone clue me into where to look and if it isn't there, I would like to suggest it to be added (in time of course).
  13. I bought Affinity designer and install it in my laptop but I recently got a new PC. How to move the software from my laptop to my PC.
  14. I wanted to copy a girls face from one photograph and paste it on to another. I checked that all layers were unlocked. Added the required mask, as in the video, as I progressed. Made a selection with the Elliptical Marquee Tool. Used Ctrl+C. Went to the other photo and pasted, Ctrl+V Up to this point there were no problems. Tried to click on the white arrow of the Move Tool but it was not working. No change to it just did not respond to my clicking. I tried the keyboard V, nothing. I then noticed a Windows green bar above the program telling me the program had stopped working. Closed down and started again, several times, with the same result. Any advice would be welcome. Thanks. I was following this tutorial:
  15. How do I make tiny movements of an object without typing in values? Do I hold something else down and tap arrow keys?
  16. Hello! I’m testing Autodesk Sketchbook with Wacom Intuos Photo Small tablet. I can zoom, rotate and move (in any direction) canvas with two fingers, without take fingers off tablet. It is very comfortable. Can you implement such feature in Affinity Designer / Photo (Windows)? I love Affinity software but I miss comfortable manipulation of canvas. Sławek
  17. Hello, small feature suggestion - when moving object, sometimes the numbers showing the distance are not visible. It would be nice to solve this by offsetting the text a little bit. Thanks Petr
  18. Affinity photo developers need to seriously make selection and moving objects much easier in iPad! It is such a hassle to select and copy to a new layer (why so many unnecessary steps?) ... and then to use the Move tool is a very aggravating chore which is MUCH MUCH easier in Photoshop! Come on... I'm sure you guys can do better than this considering how efficient and easy it is to do everything else in Affinity Photo. Please refine and simplify the selection, copy/paste and move functions in Affinity Photo for iPad.
  19. Sorry, many questions today.. Well is there a way to move the point Zero of the Roulers if needed ? greetings
  20. Hello Affinity Users. I am using affinity, but is there any way to change the move tool, so instead of moving the object i clicked on, the move tool would move the layer instead. And would there by any chance be a way to add that to a keybind? (possibly see this: https://www.ctrlpaint.com/digital-painting-101/layers at about 3:10) Thanks for your time, have a nice day!
  21. One of the most useful keyboard shortcuts in Photoshop (imo) is the CMD to move (CMD + arrows nudges 1pixel, with SHIFT modifier to nude 10pixels). In Affinity Photo the CMD key is completely unused when working normally with a document, looking in the options for shortcuts there doesn't seem to be much in terms of advanced shortcuts. I know AP is not PS, but moving things around are quite useful and not using the normal modifier keys, instead leaving them dead, seems like very bad UX. Am I missing something, is CMD actually used for anything and/or can I get the desired behavior?
  22. Please can someone explain the reason behind the 2 buttons in the top toolbar for Move by whole pixels" and "Force Pixel Alignment"? If you could give an example of when you would use one option over the other that would be helpful for me to understand. Thanks, Rob
  23. I would love to see you guys having a look at Rhino. This Program has a bunch of awesome features witch would fit in affinity designer just perfectly. For example there are features witch allow the user to array objects along a curve, in a circle or in a rectangle. other handy features are 'connect' witch connects two individual lines by expanding them till they meet up. Fillet, a feature with connects two curves in a circle. they also approach moving a object in a different way, by setting a reference point to move from. This allows the user to move a object in one position by referring two a distance on another object. I don't say you should copy all of the features. I just think some would be really helpful and definitely worth a look. sincerely Marius
  24. I'm using Affinity on a trackpad (OSX). When I drag an object sometimes the canvas scrolls (moves) a bit too). This happens most frequently when I'm selecting the object and dragging at the same time, but it can also happen when I'm dragging an object that's already selected. They key to preventing it is to deliberately pause between clicking the object and making the drag gesture. Has anyone else seen this? Maybe Affinity is perceiving the drag gesture as a scroll gesture (both two-finger gestures)? Is there some way to disable two-finger canvas scrolling?
