  1. I currently have a few files (two folders, each with 10 or so files/projects in them) in Affinity Designer that I would like to move to Affinity Designer 2. There are no files visible in Affinity Designer 2 by default. The "Affinity Designer" folders in "On My iPad" and "iCloud Drive" do not contain the aforementioned files. The local folder has a log folder, and the iCloud folder has two .afdesign files that do not show up in either the old or new Affinity Designer. I can't see any way to export my files or any place they are saved in the Files app. I'm sure I am missing something obvious, but can't work out what it is. Any help would be much appreciated.
  2. Hi! I'm trying Affinity Photo v2 with the intention of leaving Photoshop after 20 years using it for Illustration and Photography (very good but too expensive in my case). Tried before with ADesigner v1 but didn't fit my needs. There is a tool I use a lot in Photoshop: the one to straighten photos: to rotate the image so that the ground is parallel to the horizon. In Photoshop (Camera RAW) I can fine-tune, moving with the cursor the percentage of rotation point by point: 0.1%, 0.2%, very precisely. Also, when I confirm the rotation, either Camera RAW or Photoshop itself automatically crops the photo so that there are no strange white spaces in the corners after the rotation. I have had a look but I have not found any of these two options in APhoto... do you know if it is possible to do it? Thank you very much for your help and greetings from Spain!
  3. So, I posted elsewhere the problems with new installer . The SO CALLED option to install to another drive is terrible. Look that the MESS of a directory it creates It is important for a lot of COMPANIES and WORKFLOWS to have correct directory structures. The inability to INSTALL the APPS where you want is a massive problem for a lot of us in the GRAPHIC DESIGN world ( particularly in FILM ). I create graphics for movies and CONTRACT to many companies. I have had two notices this morning to stop using AFFINITY file formats and migrate to AI and EPS only. This is due to the NEW INSTALLER and they do not want to USE V2 because of it. Many of the companies and scripts and backups and a very strict workflow based on where things are and was the reason i was given. I just got away from finally use of ADOBE software. Now i have to start a SUBSCRIPTION again. This is a two fold issue in my case. FIRST off, I now need to spend more more money and go back to ADOBE . Two the companies are not PURCHASING V2 of AFFINITY Software ( one of the companies alone has 35 seats of the software ) .So now I have to output money for ADOBE and AFFINITY if i wish to keep using it. I love AFFINITY Software. Never had any complaints about what they have done or where they are going. BUT THIS IS A BIG SCREW UP in my eyes. We DON'T use ANY software that doesn't allow us a choice on where to INSTALL. PLEASE SERIF for those that are reading this and listening, Please give us the choice of the old installer and keep the users. Hope to hear something soon. Gary
  4. If you had Affinity V1 installed when running Affinity V2 for the first time you would have been given the option to import your custom content from Affinity V1 into Affinity V2. Along with the automatic migration option, Affinity V2 can now link custom content such as Adjustments, Assets, Brushes etc... between all Affinity V2 apps on the same device. For example, brushes imported into Affinity Photo 2 can now be linked to appear in the Pixel Persona in Affinity Designer 2 and the Photo Persona in Affinity Publisher 2. Unfortunately, due to this new content linking feature you will notice that any custom content you have in the Designer and Photo personas in Affinity Publisher will not automatically migrate to the Designer and Photo personas in Affinity Publisher 2. You will have to manually migrate this content by Exporting from the Designer and Photo Personas in Affinity Publisher and importing into the relevant Affinity V2 app.
  5. Hi I have shifted from windows to mac today. I need to know is there any way I can transfer my license from windows machine to the new mac. Or do I have to purchase the software again in the app store? I am no longer going to use the windows machine.
  6. Hi all, I'm currently road testing Affinity Photo and so far am extremely impressed. I want to use it as a replacement for the Lightroom, Photoshop workflow. However I have reached an impasse when it comes to files that I've adjusted in LR. For instance if I go to the LR develop module and make an edit, be it crop, white balance, whatever and then try to open that same file in Affinity Photo it will not show any of the changes. I'm confused by that because my understanding was that RAW files contain the editing information in the 'background' so was expecting Affinity to be able to read them with their RAW engine. That not being the case does anyone have any suggestions as to how I can migrate, as such, my LR adjusted photos. I do know that I can export all the adjusted files, but that would 'bake in' the non-destructive edits; not something I want to do unless I have no other choice. Hopefully this rambling will make sense. Many thanks in advance for any help or advice. Paul
  7. Hello, I am considering changing my workflow based on Adobe “Bridge + Camera Raw + Photoshop” on Windows to another product and I was pointed to Affinity Photo. Before trying I would like to check if this makes sense at. So if possible I would like to profit from your experience to help me make a start on some questions to see if this a road worth pursuing for me. I use Bridge for photo selection, Camera Raw for work on photos and Photoshop for refined work and printing (with color management). Can I do these with Affinity? Can Affinity support non-destructive workflow? Does Affinity support colors management and preview with other color profiles? How does it manage printing? Can I print letting Affinity manage color profiles as I do in Photoshop? Can Affinity read and use my existing CR2 files with the companion XMP file generated by Adobe Camera Raw (these XMP files contain not only the IPTC data, but also the work on the photo I did with Camera Raw) Can Affinity read the Photoshop PSD files? I use layers layer masks and have Smart Objects embedded. Many thanks for your patience and help. Regards
