  1. I am a Windows 11 user, and I'm a bit confused about the difference between "download MSIX from Affinity official site" and "download Affinity applications from Microsoft Store". Are they both able to get the latest updates automatically? And are there any limitations if I use the Microsoft Store applications?
  2. Pretty much what's in the subject. I can pick between several Visa or Mastercard cards but can't seem to select payment by mobile phone (so it adds to my next phone bill). The option is greyed out. Anyone else? Putting it on my bill gives me more accounting options than usual if you're wondering why I want to do it this way.
  3. I am going to buy Affinity designer from Microsoft store but before that I have some questions and I need answers of them ? 1) what will I get(product key or something else ) when I purchase designer from store ? 2 ) How will I restore my purchased product in my PC if I reset my PC or I install a new window ? 3) How will I get updates ?
  4. If you're trying to install the Affinity Store or Microsoft Store version of Affinity on Windows and it's failing with the following reason: Windows cannot install package ... because a different package ... with the same name is already installed. Remove package ... before installing. (0x80073cf3) This indicates that there's already an existing version of the app installed. An example of this would be downloading and installing V2 directly from the Affinity Store and then trying to install Affinity V2 again directly from the Microsoft Store. You can go to Apps > Apps & features to see if you have an existing version installed. Please Note: Because of this behavior it's not possible to have both the Affinity Store and Microsoft Store versions of Affinity V2 apps installed alongside each other on the same device.
  5. Hi there I'm a long time user of all three products, on my Windows desktop (meanwhile on W11) as well as on my iPad. Now I recently realized that the App is also availabel in the Microsoft Store, though of course still with a price. My question now: is there a way somehow, that I can transfer my license from the Desktop App to the Microsoft Store App? Thanks in regards, Martin
  6. Hello, I purchased all the Affinity programs through the Microsoft store but none of the product keys show when I log into Serif. I tried to register the programs and the system gives me an error. I wanted to register the software so I had a record of it in case my computer crashed. Could someone please update me on how to go about doing this?
  7. I just got the program from the store, it seems to be installing it. I was expecting a Code. Will it get atenticated by intalling it again from Microsoft store(I was using the site trial) or I can find the code somewhere?
  8. We're aware of an issue where users using Affinity apps purchased from the Microsoft Store are getting the error There was an unexpected problem while handling the server's response (0x00000001) when trying to register or sign into their Affinity Store account from within the app. This is a known issue and will hopefully be fixed in the next update, 1.9.2. More information can be found here: https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/136186-unexpected-error-0x00000001-while-trying-register-affinity-photo/&do=findComment&comment=750582
  9. Hello, I have issues logging into my account using the Microsoft Store version of the affinity suite, every time I tried logging, I have the same error in both 1.9.0 and 1.9.1.
  10. I thought I had downloaded the programmes last night, and received an email with Product Keys. However, if I click on the programs which I expected would launch them, I get a message from Windows to download more safely through their Store. This doesn't seem to offer a Free Trial, just an outright purchase. How do I proceed from here, please?
  11. Hi, i bought Affinity Photo from Microsoft Store, but where i find the my license key and how can i link this key to my serif account?
  12. Gostaria de saber se a Licença é vitalícia pra quem compra na Loja da Microsoft Store e se eu continuo recebendo as atualizações, porque fiz duas aquisições na Microsoft Store do Affinity Designer e Photo? I would like to know if the License is lifetime for those who purchase from the Microsoft Store and if I continue to receive updates, why did I make two acquisitions in the Microsoft Store of Affinity Designer and Photo?
  13. First of all, I purchased Affinity Photo and Affinity Designer from Microsoft Store, because at the time of purchase I thought that the website and the microsoft store versions are the same, with some exceptions regarding how the software is being updated (for the ones purchased from the microsoft store you don't have to do anything, they update seamless in the background, but with the website versions you have to update them manually). Ok, so starting from this information, I first bought Affinity Photo a while ago. All the things seemed alright, but I noticed that the thumbnails of affinity photo's files do not contain the icon of affinity photo, so it was a bit hard to distinguish the affinity files from the actual exported files, because they looked the same. I had to turn on file extension to know which is which. I thought it was by design and moved on with my work. After some time I decided to try Affinity Designer. So I went to their website and downloaded the free trial of the software. But this time, when I saved some illustrations as .afdesign I noticed that the thumbnails of the files had an extra icon showing the logo of Affinity Designer. This was something very useful as I can distinguish the .afdesigner files from the exported files. So I decided to also buy Affinity Designer, and I really wanted to buy it from the website so that I can have the program's icon on thumbnails but I already had Affinity Photo purchased from microsoft store. It will be weird to download one from store and the other from website. So please, can someone tell me and others who may come across this topic, why the Microsoft Store versions of Affinity software don't have their icons on the thumbnails?? I also attached two photos of what I'm trying to say. The thumbnail with the Affinity Designer logo appears only on the website version of the product. The thumbnail without the Affinity Designer logo results from the Microsoft Store version of the product.
  14. So I've run into a conundrum - the Affinity suite of apps that I purchased from the Microsoft Store doesn't appear to have command-line support. This is because those Windows Apps downloaded from the store are sandboxed off away from users. You cannot directly find the `Photo.exe` file from the Explorer (unless you're willing to blow away a lot of permissions). The best I could find on how to start Affinity Photo from the MS Store from the command line is the following: powershell.exe explorer.exe shell:AppsFolder\$(get-appxpackage -name SerifEuropeLtd.AffinityPhoto ^| select -expandproperty PackageFamilyName)!SerifEuropeLtd.AffinityPhoto But that doesn't allow me to pass in any arguments into the Photo executable. There does appear to be a solution though. First - the Affinity Suite of apps could use Command Line Activation. That would basically set up an alias so that users of the command line could send arguments to that exec alias. The apps would just need to update their OnActivated handlers for the new CommandLineLaunch activation kind. Another option could be to create and register a Protocol. This is similar to the Command Line Activation, but now you can have the Affinity apps open based on URL. For example, afphoto:// could open up Photo, and afphoto://file=foo.tif could open load the foo.tif file into Photo. Maybe you could even supply actions to Merge or create HDR from URL parameters - but that would just be icing on the cake. If your curious about my reasoning (like, who really needs to use the command line for this!?!?), it's that the UWP MS Store app boundaries are preventing integration with my DAM. I use Capture One, and C1 cannot find Affinity Photo because I cannot navigate to the app from the Windows Explorer (files and packages are hidden). By having these entry points, it could allow for me to create an extension to Capture One or a batch command wrapper so that I can send the files I want to edit over to Photo. To be clear, if I had purchases Photo directly from Serif, this wouldn't be an issue since the app gets installed in Program Files and I can browse for that. Thanks for your consideration. I hope the links show that to enable the feature wouldn't require too much code to get that done (well, how could I really know, I haven't seen your code) and would love to see that. I thought purchasing the MS Store version would just mean the apps would behave the same and that I wouldn't have to worry about performing updates manually - but now I know a little more about how UWP apps work and sorta regret doing so. Cheers and all the best
  15. Have 1.6.5.123 purchased from the Microsoft store. Am told launching it will start the update process. Sorry, doesn't happen. Update function when signed into the store also doesn't happen. Can any one help? (perhaps I'm jumping the gun here?)
  16. I am a beginner to designing. I just wish to learn it as a hobby. Tried Inkscape but it's UI isn't great. Then I tried Affinity Designer and liked it immediately. I think I'd like to buy it after the trial ends. But I saw the same product on Microsoft Store. Sadly couldn't find a trial version for that. I like the idea of sandboxed apps for the ease of installation and updates. However, as I read on the forums - the store and desktop license aren't tied together. There aren't any reviews available for the Store app (not even on the store itself). I would have liked to know how the UWP version compares to desktop version; not just in terms functionality, but also bug fixes, customer/community support and how it handles Windows protocols. Has anybody used the UWP version and would like to share their review? Is there a chance I can get a refund if I don't like the UWP version (if yes how long is the refund window?).
  17. How to install AFDesigner on mac? I bought it on MS store so I don't have a product key. Can you help me with this? Thanks
  18. After about 20 years of working with Adobe Illustrator with corporate licensing, and disappointed with Adobe's subscriptions, I was so excited to find Affinity Designer's featureset, and the pricing I got through Microsoft Store. So that's how I bought it. The first thing I saw when I launched it is a promo to download the free Grade UI kit. I clicked the link, and registered for an account on the Affinity site and for this forum, and dutifully verified my email address. The problem: the Downloads page (https://affinity.store/en-us/account/downloads/) still says I need to verify my email address. Why doesn't it give me the option to download the free Grade UI kit? Thanks in advance for your assistance!
  19. I just bought a AF Designer MS Store version for my Surface Book. I have tested the brush with pressure, it doesn't work. Do I need to configure anything or it should just work? Thank you in advance. Johnny
  20. I have just purchased Affinity Photo from the Microsoft Store in Windows 10, but I purchased Affinity Designer from this website a few weeks ago. I am just wondering if its somehow possible for me to also download and install Affinity Designer from the Microsoft Store in Windows 10 using my existing license?
