  1. Hi guys! I've been working on this template file to create social media branding material for my clients. I've managed to create a single file with multiple artboards (each one with it's export presets) ready for use. You are welcome to delete the ones that you will not use (so you don't generate empty files on export). It also includes flat icons from each platform just in case you might need them. It's updated for 2017 according to this data from Social Sprout. Hope you find it as useful as me. Leave a comment if you like/use it. If you are going to post it anywhere else, please add the proper credits Thanks! social-media-templates.afdesign
  2. I have noticed that the photo browser inside the apps is very slow to open anything. Compared to Pixelmator Pro, it opens up instantly, -all photos with albums, favorites, and recents. I think that this is an area that desperately needs improvement.
  3. When I print any file I need to keep the print settings embedded in it, so that in future I can print exactly the same image at the same media settings on the same paper at the same size. Photoshop embeds this information within the file, so that whatever device I print from, years hence it will remain the same. This is vital for limited edition prints and for all my client's work when they reorder prints. I cannot go back through files twenty years old and recreate this without the data being embedded. I don't think this would be difficult to achieve and I see that users of Publisher have asked for the same feature. Please may we have it so that I can stop giving money to Adobe for their overpriced, bloated cash-cow.
  4. What is the preferred method for reserving page space for video and other media? As Publisher has no facility for inserting various forms of media content such as Vimeo, YouTube, or media players, for modern online document publication, so; therefore space needs to be reserved and replaceable after rendering to PDF. Should a picture frame rectangle or just a rectangle (or another shape) be used for PDF editing?
  5. Hey everyone. Hope you're doing well. I looked through the forum for a couple of hours and couldn't find anything exactly on this subject, though I found some things that were similar. I saw that there is a media browser in the MAC version but not in the Windows version. What I would love to see (I've been using Photo and Designer for over a year now for all my editing and advertising materials production......Adobe can suck it) is a panel that I can open in Photo or Designer that displays assets that I use most often, maybe with a directory that I can set for the panel. For instance, an "Assets" panel that I can open in a tab next to the "Brushes" tab in the frame where I can access my screens, overlays, and backgrounds, would be a great addition to my workflow. I do a lot of photo background changes (shooting on a gray background and altering in post), so quick access so I can bring in and remove those assets quickly would be very helpful, and save me time. It would be much better than having to go into Windows Explorer to open them, copy them, and paste them into whatever document I'm currently working on. If I could right-click on an asset and paste it into the document, that would be a huge time saver, especially since I use the same assets most all the time. Anyway, that's just one idea I've had while working with Photo over the last year. Otherwise, I'm enjoying the software and I'll continue to support you guys as long as you keep rocking it. Take care! Tony
  6. I've tried using the search tool on the forums... but I get lots of results that have nothing to do with the Publisher Beta. So, my question is: Does Affinity Publisher support embedding video files? I realize that there is some information regarding Affinity's current limited ability to import a variety of file types. But, are there plans to support placing video (and, dare I say it) animated GIFs/PNGs inside a document for export to interactive PDF?
  7. I fail to reproduce this tutorial : Raster images in a composition. Everything is OK until 3'07'' of the video. Then, when I drag my image layer to the curve layer, it is not cropped, but appears 'above' my shape. On the other hand, if I simply draw a shape, select it, click insert (above, on the right) and then only place a picture directly in the shape, that does it. Surprising, isn't it ? [ps : great software, great tutorials. Thanks again.]
  8. It really would be helpful if the media browser could read Affinity's own file format. If the OS can read them then surely it can't be too challenging to have your own browser do so as well. This seems a rather astonishing oversight and, sadly, renders the browser of limited practical use.
  9. I was wondering if anyone here uses http://www.fileloupe.com/for viewing their photos, I am thinking about using it + Finder as my "DAM" until the affinity DAM ships. Was curious if anyone here had used it by chance, also it looks pretty slick with the virtual copies feature really catching my interest for PDFs as it shows.
