  1. Measurements are a fantastic addition, could they remain permanently as objects? Please! It's just one step further.
  2. Love Affinity. From the few things I miss, I miss the ability to quickly add measurements like you can with the Illustrator plugin called BPT-Pro see: https://www.baby-universe.co.jp/en/plug-in/bpt-pro4/
  3. How is it possible that if I have a 3x3 mm cell grid set it doesn't fit with a 15x3 mm rectangle? It is just an example, it happens with any other guide and object configuration. Attached screenshot so you can see what I am telling you (I have it configured in Spanish, but I think it is clearly understood) Thank you and health for all. P.S. I really like your program, but it is impossible to work correctly with this bug.
  4. Hello, everybody again. I have a problem trying to crop a photo with the exact aspect ratio that Instagram requests for its publications. Instagram asks for the following ratios, 1:1, 4:5 or 1.91:1 The first two I accept without problems, my problem is when I want to crop an image with the horizontal aspect ratio 1.91:1 I can not place decimals. I tried to do a mathematical operation to make it into Pixels and I got the following measure 1080x565,45 px with the maximum width that Instagram asks for. But in Pixels I can't place decimals either, it's a bug or I can't really set this kind of measurements. Thank you very much if you can help me.
  5. Hi, I have been using Graphic and would like to switch to Affinity. I use it to design floorpans for basketball and various athletic courts. Is there a line tool that shows dimensions as you draw and displays that information on the drawing? Is there a radius tool I could use for the three point lines? Can the grid layout be in feet and inches? See attached pdf. Thanks, Sean Untitled.pdf
  6. This may of been mentioned before and I do apologise if so. This was done in photo but I presume this happens with the others as well, I've chosen the donut Tool shape for which I've opened up to get part of one. The issue is with the size measurement being that it take the full size (left) of the donut instead of part size (right) of diagram attached. I had to rasterise the right image to illustrate the issue I was having Has this been over looked or is it a setting with I have not found yet? Kind Regards
  7. I would love to see Designer have the ability to work in scale and able to use call outs and measurements. would come in very handy.
  8. I've been slowly transitioning to using Affinity Designer (and Photo) and loving it. However, there are a couple sore thumbs that I thought I would bring up here for future additions: The ability to right-click on the rulers and change your document measurement units. Paste in Front/Back. I've seen this mentioned a couple times before and the general attitude seems "Smart Object" functionality for placed items. The other day I placed 25 Affinity Photo documents into a big Designer file, and then went back and edited half of them in Photo. I assumed they would update, but after some digging learned that placing actually meant embedding the Photo documents inside my Designer project. I ended up creating a file that was over a gig and needed to re-edit and replace them. Clearer visual isolation of groups and subgroups. When I start clicking into various groups of elements, it can be difficult to tell what Inception-like layer I find myself in. The way Illustrator greys out outside elements really helps. Not having "background" selected by default in the Export persona. Always having artboards align to full pixels. I create a ton of artboards, and a big part of my Designer workflow has become taking time to go through them one-by-one and make sure there's no extra pixel rows or columns being added. And while I'm on a roll… 6. The ability to edit pathfinder objects after-the-fact. For example, if I subtract a circle from a square, it would be great to pop back in to this shape and adjust the circle instead of having to deal with the new curve outlines of the resulting shape. See Figma and Sketch as an example. Apologies if some of these are actually features that exist. I've tried to dig down on all of them and haven't found anything concrete. Keep up the good work!
  9. Hi, When you drag guides into your document, sometimes you want to reset the origin of the measurements to align it with one guide, or with an intersection. In Photoshop, you do this by dragging from the small square that's at the origin of the rulers, but a similar feature is currently unavailable in Photo. I suggest it should be implemented in the next update, as it is probably quite easy to do. Personally, I use it regularly, for example when I must produce a photo that meets certain size requirements and I want to ascertain what parts of the photo I can include in the required maximum size. I then use guides which I position where I want/need in the frame, and reset the point of origin to see what can be included or not. Many thanks in advance!
  10. Will Serif ever address the readability of live measurements? Currently these are very hard to read.
  11. Hello, I absolutely love Affinity Designer! I am not an advanced user, I mostly use the program to make simple layout drawings. I may have missed this feature as I cannot find it, or it may not be available. I am trying to make scale drawings for where equipment is laid out in a facility, or a scale drawing of a piece of equipment. For example, I would like to set that 1/4" on the drawing equals one foot and that the dimensions would specify that measurement. So, if I have a room that is 15' X 25', I would like that shown as my dimension even though I am working on an 8 1/2" X 11" workspace. Hopefully I explained this because right now I have to do these calculations manually... so .105 equals one foot. It would speed up my simple drawings considerable if I was able to do this. So, am I missing something or is this not available. Thank you all for your hard work bringing this awesome program to us; keep up the great job! Thanks Scott
  12. Thank you Affinity team for your two great apps (for now, can't wait for publisher)! I design sewing patterns and do some fashion flats illustration and would love to be able to complete my full workflow in Affinity Designer. To do so I need a line tool were I could import a specific measurement and have the line created to those specifications. It would also be great to be able to measure curves and the perimeter of shapes. Having units like mm, cm and inches would be awesome. There is a plugin for illustrator called Vector Scribe that a lot of sewing desgners use. If this feature becomes available I promise to spread the word amongst the fashion design community. I know a bunch of us can't wait to say goodbye to Adobe. I like what I see in Affinity. Can't wait for Artboards to become available.
