  1. Hi everyone, I created this Torus-Eye mandala in Affinity Designer. It is really a labor of love, but I am satisfied with the result.
  2. Apparently everyone should draw a mandala sometime.
  3. Found this on Youtube and it blew me away. Designer makes it possible to draw intricate mandalas with less effort, more precision and more quality than meets the eye. The bloke (don't know if the guy in the video actually invented it) that figured this out should be given a medal. I included the .afdesign file that I saved with history as well, so others can have a look at how it was drawn. Mandala Test 02 - Transparent BG.afdesign
  4. I wanted to create some illustrations for others to colour, which apparently is a thing, so thought I'd start with a floral mandala but I need more practice!
  5. I have decided to take up doing mandala art. I created my own template using symbols and layers for drawing and colouring. This is my first one, there will be more
  6. i like they symmetry tool in affinity designer , but i wish i can raise the count of it so i can make better artwork

  8. This is my first work on affinity designer. The following are the mock-ups where i have used my design on various products.
  9. So I made this video for my weekly blog....and I thought you guys might get some value out of the downloadable template...I attached it here .....and the tutorial that actually shows you how to make it. J Downloadable Madala files.zip
  10. Here is a clean template to make a mandala in a super simple way. Just open the file, select the layer "Draw the Mandala here", start to draw and have fun ! Mandala template 12.afdesign
  11. Hello I am a huge fan of both affinity designer and photos, and own both of them! I just wanted to share some of the work that I have done using the new symbols tool in the Affinity Designer beta. When I got into sacred geometry mandala illustrations, I used smart layers inside photoshop. In the last month, I've recreated some of my past works and created new designs using the new betas. I'd love to thank all their development teams for creating such incredible and intuitive vector applications. You allow me to effortlessly create designs in Designer and quickly export them to Photos to add nice image/gradient masks and effects before submitting the final render. Here's some of the works I've created. I have them all on my Instagram as well (@garetmckinley).
  12. I am a complete newbie to Affinity and this is my first attempt at a project. I am attempting to copy a pattern used by an artist on the Web who is involved heavily with Sacred Geometry. If you are interested you can Google Charles Gilchrist or Sacred Geometry. The pattern was used as the base for one of his Mandala paintings. The pattern called Natures First Pattern is basically circles arranged to form a repeating pattern. This is the result of my first attempts with Affinity and vectors in general. Of course, I had to pick an easy one ! I am convinced that Affinity Designer is made with secret magic potions and mysterious spells. All of this pattern is split into individual pieces and the file is still very small and extremely responsive on the screen. If I were to export this file to PSD it would generate a 13 Meg file ! The document size is 24 x 24 inches at 300 DPI for printing. I will post an update when it is colored. Should take me about 23 years !
