  1. Hello, today I ordered Affinity Photo 1.5.2 and received a link to download the program and a container with some makros. I tried to install the makros as described. Each makro file ends with .afmacros. Program Affinity Photo 1.5.2 seeks for *.afmacro without the s at the end. Renaming the makros does not help at all. It turns out in Error: wrong file format can*t open. Any sugestion on this? Matthias
  2. How do you import these new macro packs into Affinity nad how do you load plugins into the program. It was a lot easier with Photoplus X8
  3. Hi, I am trying to record some macros. However, I cannot select multiple layers and group them while recording. Am I getting something wrong or is this not a capability? Thanks.
  4. I've had several goes at this, and it happens every time ... I have an image with two layers, and the top one is selected. I've recorded a macro to do the following: - increase the canvas size to 200% +10 pixels (two operations) - move the top layer over to the right-hand edge of the canvas - flatten the image It works OK until I close the Library panel and re-open it (without necessarily closing and restarting AP) -- the transform parameters have changed, and have to be changed back to make the macro work properly. I'm running Windows 7, btw. These are the parameters as recorded: ... and these are the parameters on re-opening: I use this process for creating stereo pairs from separate source images, and it's a very fiddly affair when there are several (or many!) pairs to process. I'd previously used a script in Paint Shop Pro without problems.
  5. An animation project has led me to the conclusion that the ability to build stacks with the macro feature would be a vary useful feature. In my case, I have exported image sequences out of Apple motion which can contain as many as 500 .openexr's. (sometimes more) These must be combined into stacks of 20 apiece. I have not discovered yet a batch/macro to expedite this particular workflow.
  6. Good afternoon. I bought Photo and the Neat Image plugin, yesterday. For the most part, they are both exactly what I wanted. :-) However, when I try to record a macro in Photo using a plugin step. i.e. with the Neat Image plugin, the macro appears to record properly and can be saved. However, it stops during play at the plugin step (actually, I used only that single step for the macro); The macro does not cause the plugin to run the steps I specified, nor does the macro return to Photo. It seems that either Photo does not record the plugin actions I selected into the macro, that the macro did not send the plugin actions back to the macro recorder, or that the running of the macro does not send the relevant commands to the plugin when the macro is played. So, when the macro is run, it stops in the plugin rather than executing the plugin’s actions I had assumed I’d recorded. This is a huge problem when one has many images for which a Photo user wants to use the plugin to perform, say, noise reduction, rather than Photo’s own NR. Could you tell me if this is a bug in Photo, a bug in Neat Image, or that, perhaps, I’ve missed something in the recording of the macro for my batch? Thanks. Trevor Jacques.
  7. Hi I've seen this video about macros https://vimeo.com/202743232 But I can't do the preseted in the video, when I clic in the layer when recording, pops up a message saying that I cannot record "set current selection" what I'm doing bad? I use Ap 1.5.1.54 in windows 10
  8. Apply image and color ranges from ps in ap macros Hi everyone I've been working in a way for making apply image and color ranges from photoshop in affinity photo and finally I've done a macro with a function like that. Affinity photo doesn't have an option for making selections of CMY, but photoshop in color ranges has these options and rgb and highlights, midtones and shadows which ap has. I've done a macro with similar functions for apply image and three macros for making selections of CMY. How to use 1.Import macros 2.Select your current image in which you are working (obviosly) 3.Apply the macro apply image and it'll pop up a sliders for adjusting settings like midtones (gamma) shadows and highlights. These settings are for showing or hidding parts of the mask. 4.Apply and adjustment layer like curves and drag the generated mask into the curves as a child layer. 5.Now you will see the mask in black and white and you can alt + clic to see the mask. 6.adjust the parameters of curves 7. See magic For the CMY macros you can select your image and apply the macro for see the CMY selections for fine tunning and after selection you can add an adjustment layer like curves and i'll mask automatically the CMY selections. I hope this be useful for you. Selections CMY and apply image.zip
  9. Hi, no press on you ;) Hope you enjoyed vacation you deserved for the AP Win success B) Great job guys. Just please could you tell us when to expect 1.5.2 AP for Win? Will it also include improved Macro functions? Thanks for information  Jindra
  10. For me this is a "must be" feature for Affinity Photo. When I have for example 1000 raw's to develop one by one this app is unusable now I need to use another programs. I am sure that most of Affinity Photo users will want this feature badly.

Macros - using expressions on macros

Hello I have a question regarding the use of expressions on macros. This is the situation: I have several images with different sizes, and I need to create a macro to change the canvas. Since the images have different sizes, I need to use expressions but somehow I cannot make it work. Let's assume 2 images: Image A: 2100x1000px Image B: 1900x700px I need to add 200px at the bottom of the image. I add the expression +=200 to the height, unlocking the padlock and placing the anchor on top. It works fine but the macro saves the final value (in Image A it would be 1200px) and not the expression. If I apply the same macro to image B, the final image will have 1200px instead of 900px. Am I doing something wrong? Thank you in advance
  12. Windows version when in Batch Job, does not show the Macro Library or allow macros to be accessed. This is an essential part of image processing for me and, I imagine, many others too. I suspect it is available to Mac users, however.

  15. Hi, I am trying to install the free macro pack. When I follow the instructions in the Qiuick start guide the files do not show up in Explorer (Win 10). (See attached photos.) What am I doing wrong?
  16. When I record a macro, and then apply it within a batch process, part of the macro is implemented differently to how it was recorded. The specific steps that go wrong are in relation to placing and positioning an image as part of the macro. Here's what I record doing: 1. Resize document to 500 x 500 2. Place image into document in topmost layer (being used as a watermark) 3. Resize placed image to 500 x 500 4. Align placed image to bottom right of document. Here's what the macro records: 1. Document properties 2. Add Image 3. Transform 4. Transform 5. Arrange Nodes Here's what the macro does when run within a batch process: 1. Scales the image 2. Adds the placed image over the top of the original 3. Saves new image according to batch parameters Here's what's wrong with the new image: 1. The placed image is not scaled to 500 x 500, but is much bigger and pixellated. Here's what I discovered on investigating this anomaly: 1. On reviewing the settings of the Transform steps in the Macro Panel, the settings of 500 x 500 are not recorded, only a scale factor of 100% x 100%. Even though the original placed file is already 500 x 500 for some reason the batch process ignores or misinterprets these steps and places the image at a much much larger scale. 2. When I run the macro within Affinity, and not part of a batch process, the placed image is scaled EVEN LARGER than when placed as part of the batch process, resulting in the 500 x 500 placed image being placed at 557256.3 x 557256.3. Clearly something is not right about how Affinity is interpreting Transform steps in macros. Does anyone have any solution?
  17. Affinity Photo v 1.5.1.54 Windows 10.1 Macros are saved as *.afmacro files. But Macro Library only recognises *afmacros files. So a saved macro is not visible to Library - import macros. In fact, an *afmacro file is entirely invisible to A.P.. Adding the missing final "s" to the file name does not cure the problem as Affinity Photo then declares the renamed *macros file as having an "Unexpected Macros Format". A macro can be saved but not used again. I have 770 images files in need of a macro-driven batch job. Please tell me I don't have to do it manually, 770 times.
  18. Hi all :D, I am currently working on a macro for removing indirect specular reflections via Affinity Photo. - sneak peek. the Image is taken form the Wikihuman Project http://gl.ict.usc.edu/Research/DigitalEmily2/

    Macros work, but with issues

I’ve just started (re)building a number of macros to replicate my previous Photoshop macros. I needed a simple text layer to include the current date. It took me a while to notice that both text tools aren’t available for macros, because the prompt that was trying to inform me appeared behind a floating palette. I was able to work around this by creating a text layer separately, cutting it to the clipboard and then creating a “paste” macro. (I hope this will be added soon-ish?) Renaming macros was an ordeal. Right-clicking (or as I prefer, ctrl-clicking) seems to work only 1 out of 10–100 times. At the other 9–99 times the macro would just start running as if clicked normally. Last, I wish the batch dialogue would remember its last destination folder or allow to name a “favourite”. (AP 1.5.1 (English) on macOS 10.12.1 (German))

  22. Hi Guys, so i am trying to create a macro to watermark my work. However when I want create the text, there is an error message "Macro recorder: Can not record: Graphiktext hinzufügen [adding graphic text]" (For now using affinity in German). Please, please help me, what am I doing wrong?
  23. Hi, how do I create a macro from a level? Basically I created a 'watermark' and now i want to create a macro from that 'text level' so that I can batch process on a bunch of photos. Thanks for your help.
  24. When trying to follow the macro tutorial video on vimeo (https : // vimeo.com / 192599545) I keep getting an error that doesn't happen on the video. It happens right away when I try and rename a layer. The attached error comes up. I hesitate to say this but I can't be doing anything wrong because at that point in the tutorial you just open an image, duplicate the layer, and rename it. Is there a version difference between windows and mac? I notice he is working on a mac. Thanks for any insight.
  25. Hello, I add a logo/watermark to my photos using 'Place'. I place a PNG image in the corner. Now i want to add this to a macro, but when i run it, it won't show the PNG in the corner. (it does show the layer, but the PNG is not visible) Placing the logo/watermark on every photo is too much work, can i automate this with a macro? Is 'Place' the best option, or do you have a better solution. Attached is a photo with my logo/watermark.
