  1. When I apply the Initial Fix Macro in the Batch Job command window, leaving the 'Save as AFPhoto' box ticked, and the Sources are either an afphoto or raw formatted file, the EXIF data is stripped from the saved afphoto formatted file. If I apply the Initial Fix Macro from within the editor and then use the Batch Job command with just the 'Save as AFPhoto' box ticked and no macros applied the EXIF data is retained
  2. For this to work well for me, I need it to be able to run a script that quickly addresses some common multi step processes I have. Otherwise it is too time consuming and fidgety
  3. Hi, Is there a way to define horizontal strips (with full height) in an image and assemble the strips into a new composite as show in the attached image? I want to make it in as few steps as possible. I am trying to build a macro for that but an (inevitable, as it seems to me) function: right-click on a layer –> Mask to Below is not available during Macro recording. So I am quite stuck at this point. Thanks for any help. Jiri
  4. I downloaded and installed Affinity Photo last night on my laptop running Windows 10 with no problem. I had also downloaded the free macro pack (zipped). In attempting to follow the instructions to import the macros, the computer isn't recognizing the zip folder (and therefore the contents of the 3 zipped files). The "Open" library window appears, and I am able to select my Affinity file, but no content appears: "No items match your search." The file extension is listed as AFMACROS files. File Explorer verifies that my Affinity file has content, including the zipped folder. Not sure what I am doing wrong--or if this is simply a Windows issue? I have closed Affinity Photo and restarted it holding down the CTRL key for a reset, and that accomplished nothing. Suggestions welcome!
  5. Hey everyone! This is a very small feature request, but it would improve the workflow by quite a bit. Personally, I have some categories I don't use regularly. So I just collapse those. However, each time after starting Photo, all the categories will be open again with too many macros to scroll through. Could you save the state for each category when they are opened or closed? Best wishes, Shu
  6. Hello, Just built a macro following the online tutorial. For some reason it doesn't work. I saved this simple macro: 1. Levels are adjusted 2. Unsharp mask Saved it into a library. I open a picture and just click the develop button to move to Photo Persona. I see the macro in the library----> click and nothing happens. I tried clicking the other macros and they don't work either. UPDATE 1: I exported the macro. I can import it and then use it on one picture. It doesn't work from the library. UPDATE 2: Works when I use the mouse...Not the wacom pen !
  7. Hi everyone, it was a question of my team, when using Macros, can i aply them to individual Shortcuts ? It would be very handy.. and in Photoshop its allready possible . thanks
  8. I created a macro to place a signature on my photos (Affinity designer file). It work fine if the size of the photo is the same than the one where I created the macro, otherwise, the proportion of the placed document is wrong.
  9. Hallo everyone, I a not quite sure, theres a way to do this in affinity. I got a folder with several pdf´s, that where produced from autocad, and that have to be composed in affinity Photo to make a much more pleasent floor plan. The several pdf´s where Plotted from autocad, untill now get placed one after the other to the center of a Document, that refers in size to the pdf´s that of course have all the same size, and gets placed in the middle of the document using a dp1 of 300... due to the nature of the embedded pdf´ files i import, i do aply to each of them a layer effect "color overlay" (so the architects can care about the color much more precise inside of affinity photo) , and also due to the problems of the embedded vektors of the pdf´s, i aply the layer effect "outline", in the exakt same color of the color overlay i used before. This way the thin and uggly lines of the used colored triangles of the fillings dissapear for the embedded pdfs. now i do this one after the other with each of the pdf´s the architects wrote to one folder , untill every pdf is sitting on top of the other , using the layereffects and they are all centered to the middle of the document (which has the size of the first opend pdf and so gets the exact szise of the needed pdfs) .. This is the first step... 1. Question: Is there a way to record in a macro to open, place to the documents center , all needed pdf´s of one folder, and applay the layer efffects i have been talking about ? 2: Question: As usual the Architectural plans change very often in a competition untill you get your final result.. this takes much much time .... so.. is there a way, to produce a macro of all the now embedded pdfs, and tell affinity, to replace them by the pdf´s in a selected folder, and replace each pdf with the now actualised pdf´s, with their corresponding names ? and if there isn´t any, go on to the next embedded pdf, and look if there existes one with the corrresponding name, untill all layer with pdf´s are actualised with the new pdfs´s. and this by remaining all the layereffects, you put on your embedded pdf´s ? this would streamline the import and redoing process of my documents very very much and would spare dozenz of hours of work in an architectural workflow process.. here´s a screenshot of an example (not finished plan).. greetings Tom..
  10. How can I import macros on my IPad?
  11. I have tried to make an online version of artwork I produce for my job but I can't seem to figure out how to make a macros for it, even though I know AP is capable of it. My project is this: 1. Open any jpeg or flattened pdf file and open in Photo 2. Reduce the image size for web use to 72ppi (its always going to be a 300ppi file that is really for print) and make it 350px in height ---doesn't matter on the width 3. Make canvas 400x400px so that the image is now centered on this new size 4. Add a soft shadow on this image on this new canvas size 5. Get me to the point I would just tell the app where I want to save it to I can do this macro (action in PS) in Photoshop without any problem, but I am pretty sure I can do it in AP too. Just a little lost. Attached here is the action in action in PS with a random image from the web to demonstrate what I want to achieve. When I try these same steps I used to make this action in PS in Photo, I get a stretched image that never works and it never really finishes the macro or so it seems. The image winds up being stretched and far from the canvas off to the lower RH side... SO I must be doing things wrong. Web file Action_.mov
  12. When you use the Import on the Macro panel, it only looks for .macro files. But if the macro you want is in a library file and you don't want to import the whole library, it would be neat if the Macro import also let you access .macros files and then let you choose which macro to import from there. Likewise, importing into the library should allow you to select a .macro file and then select which library category to put it in. More generally, the difference between .macro and .macros files can be easily missed, leading to user confusion. In other words it's a usabiliy issue and intelligent coping with this is a Good Thing.
  13. There needs to be a way to export the history of changes into a Macro for use against other pics. It would be a HUGE time-saver to be able to grab the history of all applied edits, save to a Macro, and then re-apply those same "final" changes as a batch job to other pics. Example - I have 20 pics that were all taken at the same time (similar lighting, etc), so they need the same basic treatment at least to begin with. After I'm satisfied with the edits I make to picture #1, I can save, and batch run the other 19. I get that I may be able to do some of this by just running a Macro at the beginning of my editing session, but that's clunky and also through testing doesn't quite allow me to do some things (such as set layer visibility as I work through changes, retain the "before" setting as in an Exposure change, etc).
  14. batch jobs can only save afphoto, jpg, png, tiff, exr normal File>export allows more options though e.g. pdf it just happened that I had to batch convert a bunch of svg which AP opened well but without a batch option it was not practical please make batch jobs more full featured cheers (and enable parallel export)
  15. Can we have Macros in Affinity Designer like you have in Photo, please? I’ve been working on an illustration which, had Macros been around, would have saved me a _lot_ of time. As it is, I’ve had to repeat the same three or four transformations many, many, many times and different objects.
  16. Good evening, I'm trying to record a macro, but it does not enter text in action
  17. Could we be allowed to add a shortcut key to toggle the macro panel, please? Edit/Preferences, Shortcut keys. Photo, View. Studio > Macro. Thanks!
  18. I know this feature has been requested before (macros/actions), but it's not quite there yet for my needs. With the 1.5 update, Affinity Photo does have a basic macro recording function now, but it still does not eliminate the need for Photoshop from my workflow until I can assign custom keyboard shortcuts to the macros for rapid playback! I've been very impressed with Affinity Photo so far, and I really want to see it become a "Photoshop Killer"! I work in entertainment press photography, and we typically edit around 100-200 photos a night from an average movie premiere/event, or up to 1000 photos from a major awards show. We work at a rapid pace and on very tight deadlines, so speed is critical. My typical workflow in Photoshop ... - I need to be able to eyeball every single photo in a set and make rapid corrections with a series of keyboard shortcuts. Batch processing might work for some jobs, but looking at every single photo to make adjustments quickly is also frequently needed. - I usually open 200 photos in Photoshop at a time (Photoshop's limit) in a cascading stack, then do corrections to levels, sharpness, and maybe slight color correction if needed. - Save/close the file as JPEG 8, 300dpi at 3000x2000 px (Saved while closing the file with COMMAND-W on Mac) - Repeat until I'm done with all 200, and then work on an addition 200 files if needed - Then caption all the photos with the name of the person/people using Photo Mechanic What I would love to see in Affinity Photo is the same rapid editing ability that Photoshop has. For example, I would love to be able to assign a keyboard shortcut to macros/actions that do something like the following: CTRL-SHIFT-F1 - Auto Brightness/Contrast CTRL-SHIFT-F2 - Brighten 10% CTRL-SHIFT-F3 - Brighten 20% CTRL-SHIFT-F4 - Auto Color Temp CTRL-SHIFT-F5 - De-Orange CTRL-SHIFT-F6 - De-Blue CTRL-SHIFT-F7 - Auto Sharpen CTRL-SHIFT-F8 - Sharpen 10% CTRL-SHIFT-F9 - Sharpen 20% CTRL-ALT-L - Last Used Level Adjustment CTRL-ALT-C - Last Used Color Correction CTRL-ALT-U - Last Used Sharpness Adjustment I think you get the idea :-) Another feature I would love to see is IPTC data creation/editing (or even basic awareness, passthrough). It's not an absolute must for me, since I use Photo Mechanic, which does an amazing job. However, I would not like to have a situation pop up where maybe I need to go back and do a quick edit to a file that has already been captioned in Photo Mechanic, but Affinity Photo doesn't save the existing IPTC data that's already in the file (ie. strips that info out). That would be "no bueno"! Thanks for listening!

    Bug add to library

Hello, I use affinity photo on window for several months now, and I just had a very embarrassing bug, indeed I can no longer add macro in my library. The bug arrived when my affinity photo stopped working while I was exporting a batch image. I restarted my software, tried to reset my preferences, reinstall the software, restarted my pc, but nothing works ... impossible to click here : Do you have an idea for everything reset? Thank !
  22. I was trying to achieve pseudo image layers by mixing the Replace Image function with Macros. Here's the basic idea: Draw a red circle in some application (Illustrator for example), export that as a PNG image, let's call it circle.png Place circle.png into an Affinity Photo file Edit circle.png elsewhere so the circle is blue now Use the Move Tool to select the placed image layer inside the Affinity Photo file Press the Replace Image button in toolbar, choose the circle.png image again The placed image now shows a blue circle as expected This works great! Let's try to automate it with a Macro: Place the circle.png image, with the circle back to red Edit the circle.png file elsewhere so the circle colour is now blue Start recording a Macro Select the placed image layer with the Move Tool Press the Replace Image button, chose the circle.png image again The circle is now blue as expected Stop recording the Macro Edit the circle.png file so the circle is now purple Run the Macro You'd expect the placed image to change into purple but it remains blue instead It get's even weirder, continuing from above: Manually select the placed image layer with the Move Tool Use the Replace Image button to select the circle.png which is purple as you recall from above The placed image changes to purple as expected Run the macro we created above The placed image colour goes back to blue even though the blue source file no longer exists! If more details are needed do let me know. Thanks! EDIT Here's another thing to try as a follow up to the above: Restore the circle.png to red again Place it in the Affinity document Create another unrelated image, with the same pixel dimension to simplify, call it unrelated.png Edit the circle.png to blue Start recording a new Macro Select the placed image layer with the Move Tool Use the Replace Image button to select the unrelated.png for the sole purpose/hope of "clearing cache/buffer" Deselect the layer, and reselect it again, just to be sure the Macro will select the one Use the Replace Image button again, choose circle.png Deselect and stop recording Run the Macro Same thing happens, no image replacement, even with the extra step I'd think that trying to replace the placed image with another with the same name could be causing the issue, but that's not the case, even by choosing an intermediate unrelated image file won't help. :/
  23. Hello, today I ordered Affinity Photo 1.5.2 and received a link to download the program and a container with some makros. I tried to install the makros as described. Each makro file ends with .afmacros. Program Affinity Photo 1.5.2 seeks for *.afmacro without the s at the end. Renaming the makros does not help at all. It turns out in Error: wrong file format can*t open. Any sugestion on this? Matthias

  25. Hi, I am trying to record some macros. However, I cannot select multiple layers and group them while recording. Am I getting something wrong or is this not a capability? Thanks.
